^^^You won't be envious once you get into it m8, after a while, you'll be asking "what am I doing, is this worth it, am I spending enough time with the family, what happens if I stack it, what happens to them? Could I have put the racing budget from the last season into something else with some kind of return instead?" The buzz fades after a while, and when you see the reality of it all, then its decision time. The only thing keeping me in the sport now is the amount of networking opportunities it can bring, both high and low level.

Millefune *It'll most likely be the US version of the Commodore SS-V, the Pontiac G8 GXP. I find it strange that Holden's site says it the SS-V has 260-270 Kw, but the GXP has 415 HP (309 Kw according to some online conversion). I'm pretty sure we have stricter power robbing emissions control rules over here too... and stupid loser names. Commodore and Lumina sound way hotter than G8GXP... sounds like an Initial Dumb car (ghee ai-to ghee ek-soo pee-goo). What about getting one of them solcistice GPx thingamagigs. You've already got a big comfy car in the GTO? And Davo, work out something like this: That should scare compeditors off. (:

I'm angry at the Solstice GXP being 3,003 lbs. and only having a 260 HP engine (290 if you get the GM Performance Stage II thing done). If I get a sportscar, it better have at least 1 HP per 10 pounds. I don't want to modify my next car past anything that can be optioned at the dealership. Iwant to keep a hassle-free warranty, and be able to race it in "stock" class some weekends. Thing is, the G8 is a heavy beast and won't turn as well. I'm also getting old, and I want something comfortable to ride in as my daily driver (Jennifer will always be kept nice, and not driven a lot).

But surely 260HP is plenty to have in a small rwd car. With its short wheel base, and more power it might be spin happy wich might not be as much fun. *shrug*

Yeah the cars getting worse and worse the more I look at it. Turns out I've bent the upper wishbone and pushed it up into the inner guard, all the top and driver's side of the cage has been bent out of shape so I'll have to redo a lot of it. I've pushed out the roof, but I still have to knock out all the front and rear guards. I have to redo all the bar work around the front and rear and I need a new PROPER seat and steering shaft.
It's not really a lot of work but I need to have it done by next weekend and I only get Thursday, Friday and Saturday to work on it so it's gonna be close but I should have it back out on the track soon.
