On another note, I was checking out some info on how to support the writers strike and one of them mentioned donations. It got me thinking...the eyebrows Jon wore and the beard Stephen had...they should market that somehow so the proceeds could go to the support groups working on this (or wherever they need the money to go for support). Like the wriststrong bracelet. Fer cereal - I'd buy them...

Maybe that? and yes, if the wriststrong bracelet funds went to the writers, I'd buy a whole buttload. and then I'd disperse them. and spread wrist awareness as well as writers support. and all would be well.

Producers Say Writers Could Return on Monday

With a chance that the Hollywood writers’ strike could be settled soon, late-night-television producers have already started to say just that. “Everybody is telling everybody to come in Monday,” said Jeff Ross, the executive producer of NBC’s “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.”
That is, of course, presupposing that the strike is over.
On Saturday leaders of the Writers Guild of America West and the Writers Guild of America East will hold informational meetings with their members in Los Angeles and New York. If reaction to the settlement proposals are sufficiently positive, the guilds’ boards could end the three-month walkout and allow television and movie writers to return to their laptops even before formal ratification.
Besides “Conan,” other late-night shows that have gone writer-less are making similar plans. An NBC spokeswoman said that writers for NBC’s “Tonight” show will be invited back on Monday to lighten the load on the host, Jay Leno, who, despite protest from the guild, said he had permission to write all the show’s comedy material himself — replacing the staff of 19 who usually perform that task.
The one NBC late-night show that has been dark for the entire duration of the strike, “Saturday Night Live,” may have its writers back working as early as Monday, but the show is not scheduled to return to the air for another two weeks.
Comedy Central’s two late-night shows, “The Daily Show” with Jon Stewart and “The Colbert Report” with Stephen Colbert, are both “prepared to welcome writers with open arms Monday” said Steve Albani, a spokesman for that cable channel. “We’re so ready for them to come back.”

IT'S ALMOST OVER Deadline Hollywood Daily oracle Nikki Finke says the strike is essentially “over.” She reports that at the Saturday WGA meeting in Los Angeles, the guild membership appeared to OK the deal that the leadership negotiated in the last few weeks. Writers should be back at their desks by Wednesday, according to Finke.REPORTS FROM THE WGAW MEETING: Patric said the strike would be lifted 48 hours after the WGA boards meet Sunday to recommend the contract, but it was very unclear exactly what day we all go back to work. He said we would go back to work in 48 hours after the deal is recommended, so that may be Tuesday or Wednesday, and then the membership vote would be taken 10 days later. There is no question in my mind that because of the atmosphere in that room this strike will be called off. There is no gearing for a fight. It’s over.  _____ EDIT:
The Writers Guild of America said its members voted Tuesday to end their devastating, three-month strike that brought the entertainment industry to a standstill.
Writers will go back to work Wednesday after voting in Beverly Hills and New York.I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY RIGHT NOW.
