Well I saw "I heart Huckabees" last night as it finally came to town. Very funny and interesting movie. Few scenes I could've lived without, but that is due to Hollywood's obsession with having a sex scene in every movie no matter what it is about. sweatdrop Otherwise if you like philosophy I highly recommend the film. wink

I know you do Atsu, and you would probably enjoy this movie of quirky satire that expresses the ideas of existentialism very clearly. I also felt that it does a good job of exposing its flaws.

You know I am all for seeing how the director wanted a film to be in many cases, ie The Abyss is far superior. However, the recent rash of extended cut releases after the theatrical came out and all of us poor movie nuts bought it is starting to anger me. Case in point, the trend as far as I can tell began with LOTR and Peter Jackson. Feelings on his effort to translate the literature aside, this little marketing ploy was introduced by him and our friends at New Line Cinema to my knowledge. While this annoyed some people at least it was announced prior to any DVD release that it was coming.
However, recently I have noticed a rash of geek movies getting a similar treatment (many times without previous announcements). Underworld released an extended dir cut months after the original with additional features, and just in time for Christmas (how convenient) we have new versions of Hellboy, DareDevil and of course Return of the King. There may be others as well, but these are the ones I know about. I suppose I am just annoyed because when I enjoy a film but wish certain things were better developed news like this makes me want to see the new version, which of course chews up more of my money. Oh well, for now I suppose I will just have to go buy DareDevil again and lend credance to their silly practice due to my own eccentricities. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
((sorry for the long post I think I got a little carried away. sweatdrop ))

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but "Shaun of the Dead" rocked. A lot. As in one of the better movies I've seen in a while. It's very much good times.

have yet to see shaun of the dead (though it is playing now at the theater near my house) and extended dvds dont bother me much. I only buy used dvds from gamestop (employee discount) though so I really cant say much.

Shaun of the Dead is quite fun and humorous, though thier were some parts I could have lived without. Oh well, suppose that is just me. sweatdrop
Also to clarify it isn't that the extended cuts bother me, I enjoy them. It is the fact that the release seperately from the theatrical cut after that version has saturated the market to steal more of our money that bothers me. sweatdrop gonk

I actually just saw a preview for it yesterday. Looks interesting, I may just have to see that one... yeah... that'll happen. I don't even remember what the last movie I saw was.

Hmm I heard it was hillarious. Then again I also heard it was like the movie "Superstar" but with a guy. Dunno, I will probably watch it sometime just to understand the references my friends who went without me always make. sweatdrop
