She narrowed her eyes at their accusations. She was not scared. That wasn't it at all.

"I am not terrified of swimming," she said acidly. Once again, she seemed to have stopped being her completely apathetic self. "And even if I were, I wouldn't be obvious about it."

Crossing her arms, she shifted her weight completely to her right foot and frowned. "My clothes are too heavy, and I've got my headphones with me." Her eyes narrowed further. "Plus, my hair would get wet. Look at how long it is. It'd take forever to dry."

Smirking slightly in what might have been a futile attempt at convincing them that they were completely mistaken, she stared at the two of them. "And that's all. Completely shallow reasons."

You seem to have left out a pretty crucial one, in my opinion.

Her own thoughts caused her to drop the smirk she wore, but she held her gaze. The hot fury that had been in her eyes before was gone, she was back to looking mostly bored and careless, though if one looked closely enough, you could see the slight hint of sadness. "I'm not going to ask you to come back for me. You two go ahead. Besides..." she said vaguely, finally pulling her headphones around her ears, putting her hat back on, and beginning to walk away from them, "I have other ways of getting there..."

Annie stared at Allison's retreating figure and wished she wouldn't leave her alone with Gino. Who knows what she would do if it was just the two of them. She looked at Gino shyly.

"Well... I guess we better go. I'm sure we'll see her when we get over there. No worries." She said starting at her feet in the water. She waded out further into the water until it was up to her stomach and dived in.

(again, sorry for it being so short and lame sweatdrop )

Gino watched Allison walk away. 'Aww man, I didn't mean to upset her...' he thought. He sighed heavily at her retreating figure. He had already made Annie sad, and now Allison upset. "I'm doing so well..." he muttered quietly under his breath. He turned to face Annie and swam out to meet her. "I'm not very good of a swimmer, so try not to swim too fast!" He said cheerfully, to mask his slight tumoil.

Annie stared at him thoughtfully. "Hm, you know. You might be better than you think. I mean if you don't remember me you might not remember certain things like how well you swam." The words fell out of her mouth quickly. She didn't even know what she was saying, all she knew that was in the middle of her ramblings she noted with a little bitternesss that her Gino didn't remember her.

"I mean. From what I remember you were a really good swimmer. We went swimming almost every day. You were getting so good I was worried that you'd even be faster than me one day. Remember that one time--" She stopped herself. Her smile faded. She was kicking herself in her brain. Of course he didn't remember that one time. They had been swimming in the water and he actually had beaten her in a race so she threw a live crab at his head. She had almost laughed at the memory. "I'm sorry." She whispered after a long pause and she started swimming quickly towards the Isle De Gambino.

((HAHAHAHA. A long[ish] post. biggrin ))

Gino felt a twinge in his skull, sort of like a headache but not quite. "You... you threw something at me then." Gino's eyes widened. "Oh my God, I remembered something!" Gino thought hard on that memory, but couldn't delve any more out of it that that, but hey, anything was something. "I remembered something!" he cried, bounding over to her and grabbing her into a hug.

Annie's could feel her cheeks heating up and she knew her face had to be bright red. A real smile lighted up her face. "That's great!" She exclaimed resting her head on his shoulder and placed her hands around his waist. It was just like old times, she realized. "Maybe it will get back to like it used to be." She whispered to herself. She wondered if Gino heard her, but didn't think too much into it. She just put her whole soul into the hug. She put all of herself into it, wishing it would never end, even though she knew it had to.

Meanwhile, back at the Crow's Nest at Isle de Gambino, Steele remained with his back propped against the wall, pondering, with cell phone in hand, exactly how many anger filled messages there would be left on the device since he had turned it off. It was in this spirit that he revived the mechanism, and, to his delight, there were no messages at all. However, young Mr. Garrison was not the only joyful one around the premises. Soon, there had been whisperings about the place, followed by a low, dull roar. Curious as to what phenomenon would be causing such a disturbance, he traversed back inside the musty building, only to find one of his associates on his way out one of the other doors, wallet rather tightly gripped in his hand. This only further roused the young, dark haired man's curiosity, and he walked incospicuously at the man's side.

Soon enough, though, his associate realized whom it was that was following him. "You're too young to legally gamble, kid."

"They don't know that." Steele replied bluntly. Yet, despite his air of callousness, he did feel compelled to give a short whistle at the splendors of the newly opened Casino.

"That old man really knows how to rake in the dough, doesn't he."

Gino stayed in the hug for a moment, revelling in his joy over remembering something. Then he realized that he was embracing this girl rather... intimately. She knew him, sure, but she was almost a stranger to him. Her hair sure did smell nice, though. A blush spread across Gino's face as realization hit him like a ton of bricks. He kept hugging herm though, so that she wouldn't see his face.

Annie could feel Gino's face getting hot on her neck and she knew that this had to be uncomfortable for him. Still selfishly she didn't want to end the hug. She wanted to stay like this forever. She sighed and backed away, a lump forming in her throat were her heart was just seconds ago. "We should hurry... you know.... this Casino just opened and there's lots of water traffic.... Kind of dangerous you know. Let's go."

She dove under the water and floated for a second. Why did she keep doing this to herself?! Getting her hopes up even though she knew things would never be the same. She knew things wouldn't get back to how they used to be. No matter how much she prayed and how much she wished, Gino wouldn't get all of his memory back. She kicked to the surface and gasped for air. She had been under longer than she had thought.

Gino watched her pull away, looking so sad. He felt terrible for making her feel this way, even if there wasn't anything he could do about it. He wished he could remember everything, or at least everything about her, so he wouldn't have to see her look so sad. Then she mentioned the casino.

"The casino's open? My dad owns the building and has been trying to get the casino up and running for years. Does that mean he's alive...?" Gino said quietly under his breath. He didn't want to get his hopes up, but it was a pleasant thought to keep in mind. THen he noticed that Annie was a good bit ahead of him in the water. He dove under and swam up to where she was.

Annie looked at him for a second and sighed. She felt exhasted. But she had to beat this. She decided to be as friendly and entergetic as was possible. It wasn't Gino's fault he didn't remember her.

It's his father's. She thought, glaring at an imaginary Gambino. "Anyway, come on. I bet Alli's already over there." She forced a laugh and big smile. Good... good... I think he bought it. She thought before swimming towards the dock. "RACE YA!" She called out playfully, swimming as fast as she could.

Both of them made it to the dock at relitivly the same time. "Nice job." She said forcing anoother smile. My cheeks are KILLING me. she though bitterly. "Let's go get you some new clothes." SHe said grabbing her nlue 70's shirt, her cool basic skirt, and her pilot goggle hat that she had left there from before. She shoved on her clothes over her wet bathing suit and pulled Gino into Gambino Outfitters.

Grey stood up on a large group of rubble near the reclamation facility as two or three more men walked around behind him scanning the are and sealing it from civilian activity. The man in change, Grey, grabbed a small electronic toward his side and began talking.
"Central-1 to J-1, nothing yet, we're still working on the excavation and clean-up." he said as he put the black electronic back to his side and walked own some, taking an image of a large 'G' imprinted on some metal, something to hold on to as time went by, a memorial at most.
"We still havn't found the boy or the target, moving on to Bravo-3." another voice called out on the speaker of the machine as Grey stared at the sky. Where were they...?

((OOC: Wow, I bugged ChickenNoodleSoup to post, and then I take forever to post. Stupid braces, and stupid Air Force, and *stupid* *band* *camp*!!))

Gino managed to keep up with Annie, though remaining quite a few feet behind her. Once they reached the dock, Annie climbed onto it and got dressed, something Gino thought would be a good idea, providing he had clothes. Before he even had a chance to pout cutely about it, though, Annie sought to remedy this condition. Gino found himself being forced into Gambino Outfitters, which he immediately thought to be a bad idea. "Wait! What if someone recognises me? I'm not exactly in disguise!" He cried in protest.
