Thanatos again shrugged. You could not change his purview regarding something that required defense from others. When it talked, he could hear the submission. It may be intelligent, but it lacked logic. The fact that Janlu spoke in its defense only assured Thanatos of what he saw. It moved and talked like a pet. Therefore the title that he gave it felt justified. He shrugged at her words. Not caring at all with her pointless tirade. However Dremora said something that piqued his interest. So the pure-blood wanted to learn from him huh? Interesting. Thanatos said, "If you want to learn from me, come to my lab. We'll see whether or not I will teach you anything."

Thanatos then went to his lab again. He wanted to see if those larvae were grown enough to do what he planned for them.

Dremora, while in meditation, began to reach out with his mind. The artifact would allow him to telepathically speak to one, in a more advanced sense. He reached out for the most foreign mind, most likely belonging to Tetro. Tetroneaque, if you are able to hear me, show no outward signs. When you are available, come to my quarters. There is much to discuss between us. You have caught my interest, be thankful. Dremora waited for a response, if the Kit' aru would give one. Speaking to others when in his mind was simple, but reaching out was a whole other thing. The artifact kept his concentration up though, so it would not falter.

Tetroneaque's ears perked up for a moment when he heard Dremora contacting him mentally. Oh, hello again Dremora. I didn't expect to hear from you again so soon... or in this manner. I probably won't be able to see you till tomorrow at the earliest. I do look forward to speaking with you though. Perhaps we could set aside some time after the morning meal to discuss whatever you fancy? He sent the mental communique without missing a step, as he was quite used to speaking in this manner. To him telepathy was as natural as breathing, though there appeared to be some subtle differences with it when using it to talk with these non Kit'aru.

Dremora listened to the kit' aru's words, and made his final response. You will come to me tomorrow. I have much to show you new "friend", much for you to learn and experience. When you come to my quarters, we will be going to the hangar shortly after. Dremora not only wanted company on his trip to Myrkr, but he wanted to know how influencial the dark side would be over Tetro, seeing as he had no apparent knowledge of the Force. his Sith Infliltrator was tempting him, calling out with promises of exploring the galaxy once more. Soon enough, my beloved. Soon enough. With that, Dremora ended the mental contact on his end, and went into a meditative trance for the rest of the night. he never slept, as meditating gave the same effect as well as more benefits.

((When I think of Tetro, I think of a purple tails, with an additional tail. is this an accurate description?))

( Well accurate enough I suppose... )

Tetroneaque closed the mental connection on his end once he was sure Dremora was finished, as it seemed like that was the end of their conversation. He could shake the feeling that he'd just gotten stuck in the middle of some sort of politics between these people, and worst of all he really had no idea what was at stake or whose side he should be on yet! He let out a little huff as he continued to walk beside Janlu, eager to ask her a few questions once they had a bit of privacy. So far she was the only one that he really trusted one hundred percent, though he felt he could confide in Hoshi too.

"This is a rather large facility..." he commented simply to say something as he looked around.

The former Sith Lord was in his meditative trance, and a vision had come upon him. He was on Myrkr with Tetro, when unknown figures attacked, brandishing lightsabers. Dremora would fight them off, when someone, or something, would come to their assistance. Dremora re-entered the physical world, his eyes open wide, others nearby would feel a brief surge in the Force from him. After contemplating the vision, he re-entered mental sanctuary and extended his conscious back into the Unifying Force once more.

Janlu sat on one of the seats upon entering the lounge. "Yes, I suppose it can be quite overwhelming if you don't know our way around..." she answered simply, "You said you had other questions?" From the sound of it, Tetro had pressing questions, which wasn't so suprising considerng his situation, but she wasn't sure how to aproach them...guess she'd have to wait until he began.

Tetroneaque sat down next to Janlu, his hands in his lap as he looked at his feet. "Yes, well... I was talking to Hoshi a little bit and she mentioned something called the Force. She tried to explain it to me, but I must admit that I'm very confused about it. She said there was a light side and dark side, and said Jedi use the light side while Sith use the dark side. Everything else really didn't make much sense to me." He shifted a little nervously in his seat before continuing.

"Well I want to learn more about the Force... as from what I understand Thanatos used it to invade my mind and make me understand your language. I'd like to know how to better defend myself against such actions in the future. Also I would like to better understand what it is that all of you do here exactly. I'm still not sure if you all are some sort of warrior sect, monks, or scholars." He turned his gaze toward Janlu then, looking quite vulnerable yet somehow determined at the same time.

Janlu thought for a moment, thinking of a simple way to explain something so complex, "Hmmm....put quite simply...the Force is life...its very essance. I suppose you could say the raw ingredients for anything and everything. It spans throughout the universe. You are proof that it is not limited to this galaxy alone. However, there are people...beings that are not so sensitive to it, while some of us have an affinity to harness its power. It has many forms in which it can be utilized, as anything else in the universe, to harm others as a weapon or to help others as an extra limb...if you want to call it that. Those who do not have an affinity for the Force might just shrug it off as some mysticism...but those of us sensitive to its existance can be better connected to ...everything really." She paused and looked at Tetro to see if he was understanding so far, "One example of its use is telepathy. The fact you can use it, demonstrates that you have such an affinaty and can learn more about its different uses and that is part of what we do here. This place is more a refuge for those who have been cast out, lost, or threatened. So, in away, we are all of what you mentioned...a compilation of all sorts of people, but ultimately training grounds for Force usage and the saber arts...ways of defending ourselves and others." She stopped there, allowing Tetro to take it all in and ask for further clarification where he may be confused.

("Look at me! Judge me by my size, will you? Do not! For my ally is the force... You must FEEL the Force around you~ It's here, between you, me, the tree, the rock... Luminous beings, are we! Not this crude matter.")

Tetroneaque's fuzzy brow furrowed in thought as he tried to absorb everything he was hearing. It was strange, yet it did make sense to him. For years his kind had been unable to figure out why they had telepathy, or why it was stronger in some than in others. He had to admit that he hadn't even thought that there might be more to it than mere telepathy, and the mere idea was intriguing. The explanation of them all being a compilation of outcasts was also interesting as it seemed that they accepted all types of vacations openly. That was a bit of relief and seemed to make the perfect point for his next question.

"Well I think I have some grasp of what you're saying... and brings me to my next question. I don't really have anyone else to turn to, and I was wondering if I could join your order? I'm rather lost... and this talk of the Force interests me. Though when you mention 'saber arts' what are you referring to exactly?" If he was going to try and join he might as well find out all he could so he could try and prepare at least mentally.

Janlu smiled at his next question, "I think that goes without saying," she chuckled, feeling there was no need for explination. At his last question, she took out her saber, "fighting with lightsabers," she didn't ignite it, since the lounge was no place to go about swinging sabers around, but she also didn't explain it. She wasn't sure if Tetro had anything similar that she could relate it to for his understanding. She paused for a moment as she thought about it, "what kinds of short ranged combat exist in your galaxy?"
PostPosted: Wed Apr 04, 2012 5:08 pm

Tetroneaque let out a breath he hadn't even been aware that he'd been holding in, quite relieved that no one was going to be kicking him to curb anytime soon. At least that was one weight off his mind. The reply to his questions about sabers however was a little more abstract. He leaned in closer to examine the odd device that Janlu called a 'light saber'. It didn't appear to be anything special and he'd hardly call it a saber. It looked more like a simple handle, though being a weapons designer he figured that the weapon simply wasn't turned on.

"Interesting..." he commented out loud, before his ears perked up at the question Janlu asked of him.

"Short ranged combat? Er, well... we don't really have much of that to be honest. I suppose the closest thing to any hand to hand combat would be our military grade exo-suits. Basically it's like my own exo-suit except that it remains in armor mode. It's larger and a bit bulkier, but amplifies it's wearer's strength and agility greatly! Even so it has it's own built in ranged weaponry as well as an assortment of other options. Er, right I'm rambling... sorry. To be quite blunt, we simply don't have much close range combat in my galaxy anymore... at least nothing involving a weapon. We tend to use projectiles for weaponry." His ears were lowered slightly as he felt he was doing a terrible job of answering what should be a simple question.

Janlu thought on Tetro's explination, "anymore? So you used to? Mind explaining a little history?" The only way she felt she could describe this was by relating it to something he might recognize, but if there was nothing, she'd explain the best she could.

Tetroneaque was almost at a loss of where to start on the history of weapons among his kind. In fact there had been great leaps and bounds in that field even during his lifetime. He decided to try and focus on things that were relevant though. "Well, if we're talking melee weapons... we used to employ fission cutters for close range combat against the insectoid race I mentioned. Their carapaces were rather thick and highly resistant to our energy weapons. The bolts of energy would just bounce harmlessly off most of the time! That's when we started using the exo-suits, as we had to get in close to do real damage...but that meant increased danger to our troops! Thus we also developed the fission cutter. The best way to describe it would probably be a large metal shaft with a handle for the soldier to grasp. When activated the shaft would energize, and anything solid that it came into contact with (besides it's own handle) would be ripped apart at a molecular level, splitting atoms. These weapons were highly effective as even a small graze of them would cause an insectoid to burst apart atom by atom almost instantly! Grizzly way for anything to die though..." Tetroneaque shuddered as he remembered the test subjects he'd had to test the weapon on. All insectoids, but it didn't make him feel any better.

"Still, the insectoids were much larger and stronger than my kind and close combat wasn't something we relished. Eventually we turned back to using what some might call 'old fashioned' technology...but with a new twist. Solid projectiles. We managed to create tiny explosive warheads for each round of ammunition. These bolt drivers proved quite effective where our energy based projectiles failed. They'd punch through the thickest armor and then explode within. After we started mass producing the bolt drivers we sort of stopped using the fission cutters. In fact our ships and soldiers all use the bolt driver technology as we improved our energy shield technology to a level where it would simply absorb the energy blasts, actually strengthening the shields! Ha! I'm quite proud of that little innovation." Tetroneaque's fur seemed to stand up a bit, as if he was fluffing his whole body at the memory of his invention.

Janlu pondered this history, nothing really helpful to compare, "hmm...well, let's just say, this is a weapon with a plasma blade for close range combat...that...should suffice for now," she chuckled, "some of the invantions you mention are pretty helful for non-force users, though well trained force users might even beable to do some of those things without the use of technology. The lightsaber is about the only technology one might use, though some may also use armor for extra protection." she ended there, not knowing much else to add.
