Well, because I could sleep in the engine compartment, it's literally like 10 bolts and a couple hoses.

done.

You seem to do engine swaps like there was nothing to it.

thats because on a old ford...they are as easy as pie.

Does it still have that paint job?
PostPosted: Sat Sep 24, 2005 5:48 pm

Yup, the paint is still there.

we figured out the rear window/tailgate situation, and will remidy later.

All the lights, except one of the back-up lights, work.

The Hubs are in and working normally.

The front driveshaft is still out pending transfer case work. (Doesn't want to disengage from 4wd.)

All of the garbage has been removed from the interior, and i'm going to re-instal the factory trim for now. Diamond plate can wait.

Interior WILL be Rhino-lined, but until then It's going to sound and smell like a 1950's farm-truck.

The timing was 30* out (Holy crumpets Batman!) and has been fixed. Runs smoother now.

There is still a miss, but I think it is simply a Spark plug issue.

Valves are chatter-y, so I'll dump some additives in the next tank of gas.

I think the power steering pump is leaking. Badly. But I'll know within the next week if it wasn't just working the air out.

Brakes work. 8D

Clutch is still loose, and needs some more tweaking.

electrical isn't as fuxx0red as I thought, so I'm happy.

Heater Control unit needs to be replaced, solving the Tailgate/Rear window issue. It's the switch, not the wiring like I thought.

You'll love this: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/performance/parts.php?makeid=9&modelid=97&year=1980
It's all for your year of Bronco. Then again you did do a swap so some things might not work. That sort of sucks because they have a dual exhaust kit for the engine you used to have. They have a cool looking grille that makes your car warm up faster in cold weather which you might like since you're in Canada.

Well, I don't have the money to be buying a whole bunch of new s**t yet. So that doesn't help me in any way.

IN onther news, the Rear window problem is not the switch. It's in the electrical, and it's being a b***h. stare

Well, it doesn't help you right now but once you get money there might be a few things that you like.

Yeah, I know what you mean. but I try to buy parts locally (Because I get a smokin' discount at Lordco and the other auto-parts store.)

That and I pulled out the clear turn signal whatzits in favor of amber ones. it looks better, (In my opinion) now.

Hey hey! 4th gear works, and the brakes are not, in fact, anti-lock.

"Sorry, I'll replace that basketball hoop next paycheck. Promise."

also: I am buying a roll of film, and will be snapping pics later. =D

Also, again: Too-long Rancho Shocks and Lift blocks = Not cool. Just about lost both of my still useful U-joints and axle when the shocks bottomed out, bounced the truck, and spat out a rear lift block. All is fixed, shocks will be removd and replaced soon.

"I" Didn't put the ******** in. gonk See what I get from buying a truck from a redneck?
PostPosted: Sat Oct 15, 2005 6:28 pm

Both of the seats are bolted in. biggrin

and the front shocks, which are designed for a truck with a 4" suspension lift, have been removed. I'll buy new ones monday-ish, but until then I get the low-rider bounce without the hydros. xd

And now, for Maelthra's words of wisdom:

When turnind around on a back road by a river, make sure to think of the following:

- Water + Dirt = Mud. And, when by a river or lake, said Mud is very deep.
- Water is less dense than mud, so you will not see how deep it is underneith.
- Bald tires = Bad.
- Lack of front driveshaft = worse.

Remember, do not attempt to turn around unless you know the ground it solid. and when approaching puddle, Do not shift into 3rd gear and 2wd high, then get up to about 70kph. Speed is good, but unless you know you can get through it just means you'll be digging out your framerails for a tow point.

Lastly: Kubota Tractors are great for pulling s**t. Remember that the farmer is your best friend if you do not own a winch.
