This just popped up in M&R: Kinky Twinkie Purity Balls? Many teens are pledging to remain virgins until marriage. Many do this at Christian based concerts and shows like ones sponsored by The Silver Ring Thing. They sign a promise to abstain from sex until marriage and get something physical to represent this promise, like a ring. Okay. So you don’t want to have sex until you’re wed, not what I would do but whatever. Okay. So this is saying like I won’t eat candy until I’m 25. Okay. So it goes against what your body is telling you to do. Whatever. That doesn’t really matter. No seriously, you do what you want to do. What I don’t get is Purity Balls. Quote What is a Purity Ball? It is not the daughter’s choice to have sex but her fathers. It is this control over the daughter’s sexuality that upsets me. I wanted to find out how you guys felt about it. In general you support virginity pledges? Have you taken one? Purity balls say that they promote Father-Daughter bonding. Do you think this is a healthy way to do so? Do you agree with my view that these balls are taking over female sexuality. There is no Mother-Son version. I decided to switch back to this old one I made for my guilds some time back because as of late, a lot of people have been making this odd assumption that I am Christian...... And I have only had one ignorant dumbf biggrin ck denounce my arguments about scripture because I'm a Satanist. You know there's something wrong when that's going on...

Isaiah 14:12--and apply that 20/20 rule Takai mentioned earlier to completely understand context. (I think Takai said it anyway.) Lucifer = King Nebuchadnezzar II. Lucifer was not an angel, nor demon. He was a man, and certainly nothing like Paradise Lost's Lucifer. I am still baffled as to how such fanfiction could have been so widely accepted that so many believe that it is cannon. Satan's identity in the Bible. Lucifer has nothing to do with Satan. Gotta love those crappy translations. Jesus is a "bright and shining morning star" too, which is what the word(s) translated to "Lucifer" in the KJV were refering to--a morning star. It can even stand for anything that eminates light... Angels and the likes are described as such in another chapter that... I can't remember at the moment... Something 38:7? Maybe Luke, I forget. I'll have to check later, because I am only getting sleepier and more rambly here. Well Satan is called the morning star I've herd that at church from some scripture... Not sure which one. Again, the term refers to anything that eminates light, and can be used to describe celestial beings and even mortal kings.

The Bible doesn't seem to think living a few hundred years is impossible for humans, though. in Biblical records, human life decreases greatly after the flood, which beforehand there's all those people living hundreds of years. by the time of Ahaz, they're pretty much at a "normal" life expectancy. i don't think there's many people living over 100 at the time.

So does it say in the Bible that human life became shorter on average? I honestly haven't done much research into this matter.
My point still stands, however. Satan =/= Lucifer, and Lucifer =/= the same Lucifer in Milton's book that is so widely accepted as fact.
