EVERYONE MUST GO RENT "SHAOLIN SOCCER". NOW! DON'T ASK QUESTIONS, JUST DO IT!!! domokun domokun domokun

I did....and the movie really sucked! blaugh I'm not really a fan of Chinese comedies, their humour is a little bit to simple and childish for me. Not that I don't like Chinese cinema, it's just that specific genre I can't stand.

So as to not let this topic die.

I have not seen Shaolin Soccer but here is my take on movies I have seen recently.

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow - Fun adventure movie with an old school comic feel, giant robots and ornithopters. blaugh [in theaters now]

The Punisher - While vastly superior to the Dolph Lundgren version of this adaption it remains a standard explosion driven revenge pic, but I did like some of the fight scenes. xp [DVD]

Bubba Ho Tep - Bruce Campbell fans will enjoy this introspective tale of comic oddity that features an aging Elvis (Campbell) and JFK fighting a mummy in a rest home. whee whee [DVD]

I liked Bubba Ho-Tep quite a bit, although I felt that there was excessive p***s talk.

Shaolin Soccer - Extremely funny Kung Fu comedy about a group of Shaolin disciples who start a soccer team. [DVD]

Yeah the constant references to "it" and the waning male lebido got old, otherwise a fun movie though. xd

Bounces up and down showing off the widescreen Star Wars box set that just arrived.

Yeah I know they are old movies and I have them memorized but from what I hear the DVDs are amazing and I cannot wait to watch them. I would be watching them now if it weren't for stupid school. xp

So has anyone else seen the newest modifications to Return of the Jedi and if so what did you think?

Is Lucas justified for making the continuity flow better from 1-6, or is he a punk that stole Sebastion Shaw's screen time? Of course there are other things that bother me slightly (mainly Boba Fett's new voice) but I guess I should just not have fallen in love with/memorized the originals.

Nice EM, very nice. blaugh

Atsu the ones that bothered me were:

Boba Fett now has the voice of the actor who played Jango. Changing him from the bitter and angry bounty hunter to a sligthly annoyed guy with a thick accent who is trying too hard to sound like the original.

Hayden Christiansen now appears as the ghost of Anakin Skywalker at the end of Jedi (also they added Naboo to the list of celebrating planets).

There are some other things, but most of those are from the first special edition. (ie the extended musical number never really appealed to me/Greedo shooting first)

On the plus side of things the transfer is amazing and the incredible detail of the amazing models is more visible than ever before. 3nodding

Ohhh, snap... I can't believe he did that. Now I'm going to have to kill him.

I was angry enough when he revealed Fett's "origin" in the prequels, but now he's crossed the line.

NOBODY MESSES WITH THE FETT!!! scream scream

Yeah I was pretty upset with the whole thing myself. I mean the guy only had four lines of dialogue anyway why not just let it be the character everyone liked? Oh well I am afraid that I am destined to watch Ep 3 in theaters anyway, if for no other reason than to see all the death I expect to happen. xp

Am I the only one who uses the Special edition DVD Star Wars thing to play the Demo of Battlefront on my X-Box?.....Haha, apparantly so. sweatdrop

I just play the full version being too poor in general to buy the dvds (i work at a video game store, so games are cheaper than dvds). Great game though.
