Arannis' eyes widened significantly, but he smiled nonetheless.
"So, lord Lyrandis himself judged you, did he?"
He stood slowly, his smile growing warmer by the second.
"Yes, it will certainly help. Close your hand around it. If my suspicions are correct, that holds a copy of what he saw in you the day of your judgment. The remnants of yourself as a whole."

The little girl did as she was told, gripping the orb tightly in her small grasp. Instantly she felt the emptiness inside of her being filled. As the sensation faded, she stood up and put a hand to her heart. Sure enough, she felt it beating steadily. She inhaled and took in a fresh breath of the air around her. She held it inside of her until she could do so no longer and released it. A little giggle escaped from her.

Arannis came forward, coming down to a knee in front of her and hugging her - now that she was solidified and could take such a gesture.
"Welcome back, Okiku."

Okiku hugged back as tightly as she could, clinging to her friend.
"You did it! You did it!"
She jumped up and down, excited at the feel of the ground under her feet as well as the rush of wind around her.

Arannis let go and stood, sighing.
"How ironic, that a naturally unaging Celestial in the body of perhaps a 28-year old mortal finds himself in the company of a once again, living, girl of an age not over 10, and yet having gone on for so much longer than my own lifespan so far..."
He smiled sincerely.

The little girl wrinkled her face, then smiled and looked down at her plain kimono.
"I know, I feel so old-fashioned. I hope that people don't confuse me for a little old lady."

Arannis laughed softly, understanding all too well.
"Come. There are so many alternatives. I'm sure we could find something better suited to your interests."

Yawning, as he walked through the open field, Ryn sighed.
"Man...Things are boring again.." he muttered, not noticing that he was passing by the two. His eyes were focused on the sky.

Unbelievable... Why now, only three days parted from a past struggle...?
Arannis looked Ryn's way, but dared not speak.

Looking from the corner of his right eye, he looked at the two as he walked by.
"Okiku, Charon's going to be mad at you, you know. Now there's no one to help him with the souls. Here I was about to come visit you in the Cafe.. Guess there'll be a new owner, since you left."

Okiku stiffened at the sound of her name and risked a glance in Ryn's direction. Automatically recognizing him, she hid behind Arannis, trembling.
"M-M-Mister Ryn, I didn't abandon my job. I-I'm still going to go back when it truly is my time. I'm sure Charon will be okay. T-t-time seems to go very quickly there. He'll probably not even have time to miss me before I'm-m back."

She looked up shakily at Arannis.
"H-he used to come to the cafe a lot. I really don't like him."
She looked around before standing on her tip-toes and spoke in a whisper.
"He's scary."
