Xev stared at Shigen for a bit, his face that of curiosity.
" Shigen, this Akira has demonstrated extraordinary combative skill, especially for her age. I'm not sure what her relation is to you, but I believe that she will prove most useful to us in the coming days."

Shigen looked at Xev and shook his head. "She maybe good in the field but it's still too dangerous." He raised his eye brows and then let out a short sigh, "besides, she has a family that needs to be looked after."
Akira looked up at Xev and Shigen with pleading eyes. "Com'on! They'll be fine without me!"

Xev continued to sort out the situation. Akira wanted to jump headlong into a dangerous situation, leaving her family to fend for themselves. Xev figured Akira would be most useful to them, but he realized that she would also be in more danger with them.
" Akira, your family is more important, and I' m not so sure Shigen or Eliie could stand seeing you in a dangerous spot like this, but I think the choice of what happens is really up to you. "

Akira sighed, there was no two ways about it. She did have a family to look after, sort of, and she was needed there. She crossed her arms over and rolled her eyes. "Fine, I'll see you off tomorrow then." She didn't sound exactly happy about sticking around instead of leaving her family to go on an adventure. She nodded to Paul and Shigen before saying her good nights.

Xev nodded to her as she left for home. He knew the logical thing to do was keep her out of dangerous situations, especially involving vicious infected creatures and the undead. He looked to Shigen, his eyes searching for answers.
" How did she end up taking on an adult role at such a young age?"

Shigen paused in silence for a moment. "It's not something I can tell you," he sighed looking away. "I haven't known her all that well and if you wanted to to find out the whole story you would have to ask her." He moved his tanned hand through his pale silver hair as he looked up at the night sky. "Anyways, we should head back to the hotel for now, it's getting late and there are a few things I need to wrap up there before tomorrow morning." He turned to look at Xev and shoved his hands in his pockets with a very neutral expression on his face. "It might be a good idea to get a little bit of rest, we have a good two day drive ahead of us."

Xev shook his head.
" I don't sleep. I haven't slept a wink in 30 plus years. Mary said something about my metabolic pathways being 100% efficient. My body wastes nothing that I put into it, or something I don't quite understand why. I never paid much attention to her thermodynamic rants while she stuck me with 13 different needles..."
Xev rubbed the back of his head, a few bits of left over werewolf chunks fell out of his hair. He wiped them off with a bit of disgust marking his face.
" I don't mind standing guard while you guys rest. It will give me something to do and keep you guys at ease at the very least."

"Whatever floats your boat." With that Shigen was off, hands in pockets, strolling down the side walk. He would spend the night out and about, for the first part, then inside, picking out the easiest and quickest route to their destination. He had fallen asleep at his desk besides the lap and woke up fairly early in the morning, at about eight.

Xev nodded, heading back towards the bar. Once he had reached the bar, he took position on the mezzanine, and watched the city life go by.

In the morning, Shigen had gathered up his things, along with Ellie, and proceeded to head towards the front door.
Akira hadn't slept that night, thinking about Shigen leaving and not returning for awhile. She eventually found herself up and out of bed, taking a shower to calm her thoughts before getting changed. It was at least five in the morning and that was when she decided on her course of action. "My family will be fine without me... we rid the town of the main werewolf cult last night..." she thought going over to her mother's old room. She opened the door and looked into the empty bedroom. "Good bye mum..." she mumbled before moving over to her older sister's room. Of course she was fast asleep but that didn't stop Akira from entering and waking her up. "Hey sis... I'm going to be gone for awhile, I don't know when I will be back." The sleeping girl sat up and rubbed her eyes, "whaddya mean?" she asked sleepily. "I'm leaving in the morning and I know you can take care of yourself and the little one." Akira went and pulled out her life savings from her pocket. "Here, this will help with the bills and groceries." The older sister looked shocked, "but that's your money for college! I can't take that, remember the promise we made to mum?" Akira shook her head and placed it in her sister's hand. "I'm not going to go to college. It's not going to do me as well as helping out where I can. Besides, your health and well being is much more important then my education." Her sister was about to protest but Akira gave her no chance, "I'll be fine, just be safe." She kissed her on the forehead before walking out of the room. She was going to wake up her little five-year old brother to tell him the news. She wouldn't leave without saying goodbye. "Darek honey..." she said, sitting down on his bed. The little boy shifted in his bed, turning to look at Akira with sleepy eyes, "Akira..." he murmured half awake. "Dar-Dar, I want to let you know I love you-" "you're leaving..." he said in a mono-tone. Akira was slightly shocked, but nodded, "yeah, I am. I'll be back though, I promise." "You said you wouldn't! You're doing what mom did!" he yelled sitting up in his bed. He then proceeded to grab a hold of Akira's waist. "You said you wouldn'..." he mumbled, sobbing. "Shhhhh...hush, you still have Katherine. She'll take care of you." "but you can't leave!" Akira calmed him down by petting his head softly. "Dar-Dar... you know I love you... but this is something I have to do, its not something I can just ignore." Dar wouldn't understand and she knew that, but in the end she was able to put him down to sleep again. She kissed him on the forehead before leaving out the door.

"Are we good to go?" Shigen asked both Ellie and Xev. "Tied up any and all loose ends and packed?" "Yup!" Ellie said cheerfully as if she had not been drunk that night.

Shigen found Xev had not once budged from the spot he took watch from when he had left for bed. Xev merely looked over to Shigen nodding in acknowledgment. He headed back downstairs to meet with the rest of the group to leave.
" Yes, I am well ready to leave. The night was rather relaxing for a change."

"Good. I'll just go around and grab the truck. I'll be right back." Shigen placed his bags down and stuffed his hands into his pockets as he rounded the corner. He unlocked the large all-terrain vehicle with the press of a button before pulling open the large black door. The hummer looked fairly new, if one had not seen all the tales it had endured. He slammed the door shut and reffed the engine before putting it into drive. Her monstrous beast lurched forward and rolled out of its parking space. Shigen pulled the truck up to the curb and hopped out, leaving the door open, keys in the ignition. "We'll put our stuff in the backseat."
From the distance the red-head Valentine appeared, walking slowly with her hands behind her back. The wind whipped at her clothes as dust clouded around her black boots. "I hope I'm not too late to say a fair well." She smiled approaching Xev, Shigen and Ellie.

Xev helped pack the bags in, having only his clothes and a small bag with his central uniform. He closed the back hatch when everyone's bags had been loaded, seeing Akira as she came up the path to see the group off.
