Actually, Wave O Babies really likes S13's. Problem is, he likes Silvias and 180SX's. Not S13's with shitty motors thrown in them to appeal to American customers who think displacement is everything. stare

displacement isnt everything...torque is

Your argument for torque is debatable, but you are certainly right about the first part...
I didn't say you're one of those people who believes displacement is everything. smile

I've yet to drive a car that pulls like a pitbull. All the cars I have driven seem to just...well drive. They have all been FF. The newest of those was a Mini Cooper. sweatdrop

you say torque isnt everything cause you havent had much of it i guess. get about 500 ft lbs of it and then tell me which you like more tq or hp.

I said it's debatable, as in it's one of those things car freaks like us love to argue about. smile

Torque is what gets you uphill quickly, and will rape your tires until there's nothing left, if that's something you enjoy wink , but torque isn't as important as horsepower when it comes to speed. Torque is a measurement of twisting force, whereas horsepower is a measurement of how much "work" your car can do in a given amount of time. Since going fast is basically asking your car to "work" on accelerating in as little time as possible, the more horses you have, the faster you'll go. Except for going uphill, as I already mentioned.

If torque were better than horsepower for acceleration, sportscars would all have diesel engines....

torque off the line...like say to 80 mph...then you want alot of hp to carry the car.

Alright guys, here's a sitrep.

It runs, turns, shifts and does a nice burnout. biggrin All I have left to do is figure out why half the lights don't work, and then replace the front hubs. Calentar was mostly right, but I need a specific socket to get the ******** out. It'll be fuuuuun. stare

After that, I get to figure out the transfer case, but until then I'll be getting insurance and my "N," and no 4-wheeling.

you can use that socket or you can do it with the right sized screw driver and alot of time/effort. i have the socket you need rofl cost me 49 dollars from snapon...its ******** HUGE. IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY go to your parts store and get the $90 dollar warn front hubs...the ones that have the metal lock out instead of the cheap plastic...very very very good hub its what i run on my 1970 f250 (1978 body 1970 chassis) and i have seen them used on rock crawling jeeps and they have a lifetime gaurnetee xd

Acually, I'm borrowing the socket from a friend, so It's free. biggrin

But for the new hubs I'm just going with the standard Warn hubs because I have plans to put in a Dana 44 front axle or a Unimog portal...That and I don't think I can blow out a hub with a 300ci 6 cylinder.

see i didnt read alot on this truck...but i figured you had at least a 302 if not a big block...no you wont break anything with a 300. i also figured it already had dana's....guess i was off on that one.

It had a dead 302, which got yanked and put in a demo-derby car.

Have a 302 block bored, honed, and machined for Cleveland heads. (Makes it a 302 Boss :3) But no money to build it. Most likely going to sell it to my uncle.

Bought a F-150 for $200, sold the brand new 36" tires for $600, and pulled the I-6 to put in my bronco. It runs well, now, that I've put a new carb and distributer.

I have 33" tires that need to be mounted on the rims, after I clean them up. (the rims)

Interior still needs work. It's all going to be custom.

OH! speaking of which! I figured out why I couldn't pull the hub inserts! I forgot to remove the lock ring from the outside, and it's being a b***h. >_> I've got one hub in, but the other is still being bitchy to remove.

You seem to do engine swaps like there was nothing to it.
