Roth took a few steps to the side and sat down against a tree a little ways from Fenali. Not really want to sit down right in front of her, that would have been odd. He slumped down against another tree, as he had done before. Roth was still on edge, and a little irritated, he tried to keep it out of his voice though. " I'm fine. Just need... some rest." He said, swallowing between 'need' and 'rest'. He was still breathing a little hard, he just did a lot of running, he'd be back to full strength... tomorrow probably, he might have enough fight left in him for the shack and then he'd be out. Which stunk because...he wasn't falling asleep before the rest of them did.

Fenali exhaled slowly yet again, getting herself back to normal, if she ever was normal that is. She set aside all of her weapons and leaned backwards against the tree's trunk. It might have been a bad idea for her to let go of her weapons but she didn't care exactly at that moment. All she wanted was to rest and rest for a LONG time...though that never really happened. The sun peeked its way through the branches, just enough to light up the floor of the forest. Some of the light bled down onto her, it warmed up her skin, giving it a sensation that only the sun could provide. Fenali blinked back the fog that threatened to engulf her and pull her in its ever-growing blanket of sleep and looked over at Roth. He seemed a little edgy still...maybe it was her fault? She turned her body slightly to sit a bit more comfortably on the ground.

"You can trust me you know? I mean...nothing I've done really lead you to believe such things but you can, it's not like I would kill you in your sleep or anything like that....if I wanted to kill you, then I'd do it out in the open and do it with honor....just so you know." Fenali finished.

Roth's breathing went back to normal, and his heart wasn't pounding. In truth, the adrenaline was probably all that was keeping him awake. He actually nodded off for a few minutes before he heard Fenali speak. He agreed with her, they didn't seem at all like untrustworthy people, Fenali and her dragon rider friend especially. If anyone was around here was of suspicious qualities, it was him. " I, suppose you're right, I've been overly cautions around you for some reason. " He said, trying not to nod off again, there was one more thing to do before he could really rest.

Fenali nodded as he spoke. It wasn't like it was abnormal to be suspicious of people you've just met...but she didn't think that anyone could think her hostile at the moment, unless that is, you did something to annoy her or anything like that. Especially not Nienna...if anyone found her hostile without Omnirok at her side then they had some serious problems with people. Fenali understood why Roth could be suspicious of them, she wasn't the most normal person she'd ever come to know.

"I have noticed that you've been cautious around us....might I ask as to why that is? Before you ask, no, I have never heard of the term 'curiosity killed the cat'." Fenali added, smiling.

The dragon was his only real worry, though as smart as they are, they can't read minds. So there really wasn't any worry. He wasn't a criminal anyway, he just needed to calm down; he was being irrational. Good thing he had an answer for this though, it probably explained most of his own worry to himself as well. " Well, as I said before, I'm working for a geologist. However I said that because I was just hired by him. I'm not an apprentice or anything. In truth I'm a mercenary, distrust comes with a lot of jobs. Though I failed to realize that you aren't exactly cutthroats." That was leaning closer to the real truth, Roth actually did take on jobs like that.

Fenali nodded and smiled....sort of....at Roth. She knew all too well that being involved in that sort of work did make people a little...protective and paranoid about others. She was like that as well before she met Nienna. She used to not talk to anyone, only Zroa and that was only through their minds. For a little while, Fenali forgot how to speak at all which was a bit frightening.

"Yes...I know how you feel...then again, I think I'd be pretty suspicious too if I just met an elf with anger issues, a shy elf, dragon-rider with her gigantic dragon with her...and an owl suffering from vanity." Fenali laughed lightly, feeling her own tensions melting away.

" You certainly are an interesting group." Roth almost said 'peculiar' but managed to avoid it. Roth was managing to relax too, though it was never easy for him to let his guard down completely. Seeing as in it rarely happened. "Suffering from vanity?" he asked, cocking a grey eyebrow. How could she tell the bird was vain? It was her companion though, she would know the best he supposed. Zroa seemed a little more intelligent than the average bird, so that factored in. He was about to start thinking too much again.

Fenali nodded and smiled again. Zroa had a habit of being cocky and rude around other birds because he was smarter than they were....and much more spoiled for that matter.

"Oh yes, Zroa is quite the vain little owl. Though it's only because he and I have been together for as long as I can remember and we've never been seperated....and because he knows that I spoil him rotten with all the hunting I've done for him." Fenali laughed. "That little chicken..." Fenali smiled and stopped talking, she heard the flapping of wings and then the rustle of branches.

In a swift motion, Fenali was on her feet and looking in the direction the noise came from. She zeroed out all other noises and was on full-alert...agian. Then she realized what the noise was and sat back down with a scowl.

"Speak of the devil..." She said before Zroa came zooming out of the trees with a rat it his beak.

"That's just wonderful....YOU STUPID BIRD!!!" Fenali laughed, almost falling over as well.

Creeping in a most suspicious manner, Dharculus Faine moved at a steady pace through the forest's lush undergrowth. He kept his frail body haunched over in a feeble attempt to make himself a smaller visual target, but if you were looking in his general direction, he'd be easy to spot. The almost neon green of his robes stood out like a Vegas sign from the darkness under the forest canopy. Not to mention his completely vertical hair didn't exactly match the form of the plants in the area. In essence, he was a beacon in the dark areas around him.

With or without the stealth he desired, he crept on. Due to his naturally terrible balance, the tentacles that sprouted from his hips assisted greatly, holding him up by pushing against the ground like awkward walking training wheels. These tentacles of his he cherished more than his life. The were gifts from the Far Realm and would pay his life to keep them. Dharculus could never see a problem with that.

" Ah, I see." he said, his hand immediately at the hilt of his sword when Fenali jumped at something. Just in case. When she sat back down and Zroa came from the tree's with a rat, he relaxed again. "Mm, yes, that's just fantastic." He commented after seeing the creature. The rat, not the owl. Though it was just the circle of life, that's how things worked. He just wished it didn't have to come in such a nasty package. Atleast there was one less rat in the world.

Fenali laughed just thinking about how foolish Zroa looked with such a gruesome rat in his beak. The blood was smeared on his beak, though he looked quite content. He started picking at it with his beak, then tearing into it ravenously. Fenali cringed when she heard the ripping of flesh and turned away from the onslaught.

"In all the years I've been with him....I still can't manage to watch him eat." Fenali shivered at the thought.

Though it was true, Zroa didn't really have anything she'd call manners when it came to eating...and anything else for that matter.

Faine continued to creep. Though he tried to seem small and invisible, his presence echoed through the forest. The almost rhythmic sound of twigs snapping under his feet or tentacles was almost predictable. None the less, he pressed on. Lucky for him, he hadn't been spotted by elven patrols, amazingly enough.

Shale slowly returned from seeking water. He heard Roth and the girl talking, they were obviously in a fight. Clearing the tree line he set down three large water bags and rolled his eyes at the two panting like over worked dogs.

“You two have been together only what 2 or 3 days and your already trying to kill each other. Yer no better than a married couple.”

He sat at Ralja’s side opposite of the dragon and leaned against a tree. Worry danced in his eyes, as he looked at hers still closed ones...

"her father abruptly stood from the table… taking her mother by the hair and whispering something in her ear… her eyes widening when she noticed blood dripping to the floor… A knife in her mothers back… her father the cause of it… The Clan of men… pain… knives… bloodied? No… poisoned… numbness….. the water surrounding … fury …… insane smile… her fathers fear… crushing everyone… dropping back into the water… washing up on the beach … feeling almost dead… still numb…"

They went back, 60 odd years later. She had insisted. The pain was just as prominent as when it all had happened years ago… Ralja wanted to rid herself of the memories… A fiery sensation burned in her heart, slowly filling her body till she glowed with an unbearable heat… She screamed…

((terribly sorry, was waiting for Ace to post))

"We've barely known each other for a day. Been a rather long day as well." He said, mumbling the last part, then again, how were they to know how long they'd been around each other. He just ignored the eating and waited for energy to return to him. He had used up his second, third and his fourth winds that he kept in special reserves. Also, they needed to get to that cabin, the Ralja woman wasn't looking too well. IF things kept up the way they were, he might be joining her in terms of health.

Fenali nodded and stood up, brushing off her skirts. She slung her bow on her back and chased off Zroa. He screeched angrily when his meal was interrupted, though he flew off, knowing what Fenali wanted. She helped Nienna onto Omnirok's back and went to get the others as well.

"Alright, I don't know about you but I think we should head over to that cabin that Zroa found. All of you can get on Omnirok's back and we'll see how he is afterwards." Fenali clapped her hands together loudly to signal to everyone that they should leave now. "Alright everyone, hop to it. You can all sleep on Omnirok as he's flying."

Nienna was on Omnirok's back and whispered to Omnirok.

"Is it just me or is she planning something?" Nienna whispered, smiling and laughing inside.
