"Ok, well seeing as thats almost like saying you know nothing, i'll tell you everything. The dark beasts have already been defeated. They were all torn apart earlier this night. They were a key part to eliminate as the magic they possess is most powerful in its raw state. It can only be handled by hybrids that dont have any human in them. Its toxic to humans and hybrids with human in them. Once the magic is gathered, it can be formed into weapons and other pieces of equipment, but its no longer toxic. So the best way to plan genocide on humans is to infect what they use most, water. Placing the magic in water wont delute it, actually, it reacts in a way where the toxicity becomes more deadly and its completely undetectable. Not only that, but it spreads quickly. Once Jack places it in key water spots, its over. Well, is that it?"

"That's a pretty simple, but effective method of genocide. However, all it would take to counteract it is the application of unicorn horns to the water supplies of the world. Which would be simple enough for the mages of the world to accomplish, were they only to be warned of the threat."

You underestimate the power of raw magic. Not to mention that its from the dark beasts. There are only two ways to stop this kind of magic. The first way is to use the anti-human syrim that dark beasts produce from there bodies to keep humans away from them. But the big problem with that is it would eventually wear off, then we would have to apply more of the syrim, but we would quickly run out and since there are no more dark beasts, we cant get them to make more. The second would be to purify it by having the most devine of all creatures perform a self-sacrifice ritual in the infected water. But if Jack infects more than one source, that method wont work." He starts thinking. "Hmm... now that I think of it, there might be a third way. Maybe, if you can build a device, we can funnel all of the power from the water into a host. But the host would have to be a being whos body can handle the power. But if Jack infects as much as he plans to, the only a pure angel of pure demon can handle that amount of power. I dont know, which would seem the easiest."

"What if I could create an avatar for the magic? A corporeal vessel that the dark magic would be embodied in. The dark essence would naturally funnel to it instead of spreading. This would still leave us with a problem, but a local one instead of a worldwide cataclysm."

"No time. I'll do it later and send the results back." He turns to the chest, and opens it, revealing something that looks like an ornate Victorian microwave on a stand that rises up from the chest. He flips a switch on the face, and a small green light turns on.
"Temporal dumbwaiter. I flip the switch, and that creates a field that I can reach back and find later-" >ding< A bell chimes and the light goes off.
"That means I've collapsed the field from up-time. And now I open the box to see if I've sent me anything."
He opens it, and reveals a small metal ball, and a quickly scrawled note on a scrap of paper - 'Safe to handle.'
He reaches in and pulls it out. He looks at it a moment and holds it out to Xander. "Does that work?"

"Well, I guess. I was worried, since its toxic to all humans and hybrids with human in them and you were once human, that it would harm you. I guess that since your entire biological make up has tranfromed, its ok for you to handle it." He said smiling in relief. "Ok, so while you make the device, im going to go get some of the magic from the inner ring. You can go back to the class now. Im sure people are wondering whats going on." He exits the construction wing and goes to the inner ring fo the hollow.

After Xander leaves, Myles turns the scrap of paper over and reads the other message. The one that only he can see. No magic to uncover hidden things will reveal it, because it is not hidden by magic. It is simply written with ink that is only visible to someone whose eyes can see on the ultraviolet spectrum.
Due to the nature of temporal engineering, however, these words are limited to a few cryptic phrases. 'You are not immune', 'Check your surveillance', and 'Use the untested' are the only things it says. He shoves the note into his pocket and opens the chest to retrieve the device to check his spies' records.
