Drell fell into a kneel for a brief moment, despite the woman on his back, but was reminded of her with a sharp intake of breath. "A good day to thineself sir, baron. The magi-marauders nestled twixt the main highways hills are scattered in dissaray, their higher ups fallen." He thought for a further moment about the near-crippeled girl across his shoulder. There was a moment of indecision, the barons eyes glancing up and his smile fading slightly at the sight of her. She, as he had proved, was no real threat. . . the worst that could happen wouldn't be too terrible. "The wounded lass upon my back was a captive, whom they were in the process of destroying in a particularly slow manner. By her request, I shall escort her to Opehniron when she is well enough to travel and a time presents itself in which I could journey there." The girl let out a long and quiet breath.

Kaylee smiled at her mottley group, mounted her own horse and gestured that they all do the same. "Let us head for Brimrose then."

The Baron gave a hearty laugh and a nod of his head. "Ye twould be bringing me de strangest o'tings Drell. Best be healin her up. As for Opheniron, ye'll be gittin dere sooner den ye think. Kaylee has decided to head for Arcana...she has decided that she wants to end the war." There was worry in his strong voice, worry and a hint of loss.

"She'll need ta stop in Opheniron in order to meet Solaris. De fhelling has something ta be givin her. Welcome home." He nodded to the girl then yelled at his guards to close the gates and turned to walk away.

Lineera mounted the dark steed and looked at the Baroness.

Drell nodded slowly, taking in what was said to him, but the sharp breathing of the girl across his shoulders kept him in the present and he walked behind the baron. As they entered the entrance hall he remarked to the baron, who was some twenty yards ahead of him, "Ill take er to the healer lest her wound complicate post haste." He walked out of ear shot towards the lower levels. This castle was unique in that its dungeons were in a spire instead of the lowest levels, which were still well lit and quite warm. The healers chambers were at the lowest level, which Drell never questioned until now. The rogue thanked her weakly for trusting her as they emerged from the first stairwell, walking across the empty barracks hall to the other end of the hall. An idea occured to him and he stopped, and placed the girl on the ground, squarely on her injured back. She gasped slightly and winced up at him. He wouldn't be needing any more spells today now that he was safely in the keep, he decided, and placed his hand under the girls v-necked tunic over her heart. She wasn't resisting but was looking very much defeated at the prospect of being raped at her weakest, though her doubts were put to rest as he placed his left hand on her temple and they both glowed a warming glow, her wounds knitting themselves slightly and numbing her pain considerably. She exhaled softly and breathed a thanks as she did so, before the cleric lifted her and brought her down the long stairwell, not exiting it until its end, and entering the small floor of the healers chambers. He had been all but killed on several occasions and brought here two of them, and knew quite well the procedure. He placed the girl on a small stone table, and called backwards to the sleeping quarters where she likely was, "Thine quarters have a guest of this moment who requires your talents, Floradin."

((Its okay bourgland. I expect delays during the holidays...it is normal^^ Happy finals, good luck hun. Just finished mine and I feel alot better.))

Her languid form slipped from around the corner and she leaned against the door way. Her lovely blonde hair fell across her sleepy brown eyes and she sighed. "All right. Another I see...you always bring me something when you are around Drell." She walked up to the table and raised her right hand in front of the girl's face. Her eyes went white as she whsipered an incantation. All around them an invisible wind picked up before wrapping around the girl, healing all that was broken, mending all that was wrong. Once complete, the healer slouched a little.

The girl had been the sixth patient she had had that day...were it not for her regeneration stones...she would be completely out of mana. "She should eb feeling better now." Her voice was weakly used...she was so tired.

((sorry for the delayed response, friends! I have only just completed my finals as well. Boo, school.))

Lux nudged Lira forward, following their leader's own mount. Pulling up to Kaylee's left, and just a head's length behind the Baroness' horse - as befitted the younger girl's rank and station - the Assassin ventured forth a question she had been brooding upon for some time.

"Kaylee, may I know what your plans are for this group? This is no pleasure journey you have us taking; I wonder what you hope to accomplish? I too aspire to end this fruitless war, but I'm afraid I don't see how a group of our small size and motley talents can hope to achieve its end," she said, speaking in total honesty. She greatly wished to accompany the Baroness, since she felt that doing something - no matter how futile the efforts may seem - would be far better than doing nothing at all. But Lux wished to hear what plans the other girl had laid, and what chances the group had.

Kaylee looked back at Lux and smiled. "Size...is of no relevance Lux. Look around you." She gestured to the forested valley in which they dwelled. "All of this began with maybe a few seeds no smaller than the tiniest of pebbles. I am sure, that in the beginning, the trees had their doubts. That they wondered if they, too, could make a difference. Now, years later, they have blossomed into a forest of immense proportions. This battle with Arcana has taken years, and we have been burned time, and time again, but no matter what, we respawn. Our roots grow deep into this land...so long as the love for Telmoria exists...the love for any who struggle exists, there is hope of defeating Arcana."

She sighed, rolling her shoulders. "I am not saying it will be easy. In the end, some of us will die...it happens. However...so long as we persist, there is no losing." Kaylee looked upon her group with an endearing expression. "Give me your trust, and I promise to never let you down. I may look like a tiny seed...but I assure you, when time is desperate, I am the solid tree. I may bend, but I will never break."

He lifted the unconcious girl back across a shoulder. "I offer ye my thanks for thine talents which are shared so eagerly. One does however wonder if ones endurance is waning? Your self seams ill and fatigued, Floradin." His eyes met the womans. He doubted he was considered a shining beacon of trust but some seamed to enjoy talking to him, though others regarded him as an intimidating and even frightening presence. He had never fully understood, or even tried to understand it in all truth. Those who needed to trust him did it seamed. Most horses didn't but he had his own steed, be it not quite whole or mortal. People seamed to be the same way. Commoners didn't trust him, but the baron and his daughter both did, and this pretty young rogue whom he had greatly injured did. It all depends on the person. . . and the creature. The monasterys dracolich trusted him, though it also trusted many of t he other dwellers of the facility. Though he seamed to in general be trusted more by the not-quite-mortals. Well perhaps he was one. He wasn' sure really, he hadn't been crippeled with what should have been a death blow since his partial turning. He was good at avoiding those things in general. Odd considering how much trouble he got himself into. Drell trailed on like this for a few moments before the girl halfway stirred, twitching against his neck, and his eyes slid into focus again, watching the healer for a sign of dismissal or anything else.

It took less than half an hour from breaking the brief mid-afternoon camp to empty out of the treeline. Emril could be heard to make a very audible sigh of relief. Thenne shook his head, trying not to laugh, while Einin exchanged a single look with Pell. The older man only motioned his head towards the gurad towers, where a couple of figures were waving a cursory greeting.
Emril's train was a recognized one. A call could be heard to open the City gates as the wagon and lead riders got within range. Einin knew there'd be a brief search and inspection just inside the walls, but such measures were routine, and, again, cursory.
But getting just inside the gates, Einin pulled his horse to one side as his eyes caught sight of a notice of some sort. A summons to all interested and available warriors who wished to bring a final end to the Great War. 'All interested parties are requested to join the Lady Kaylee Vinshire at aforementioned tavern....'
"What in the Name of the Creator-?" Was it really possible? To end the War with a small band of warriors? Was the Lady Kaylee out of her mind?
Einin wondered if his Uncle knew of this? Surely, he'd have tried to- No. Ein shook his head. In order for such payments to be put up for such an action, even the Baron, himself, would have to be behind this plan.
"Something the matter, lad?" Pell had come up alongside Einin, as the wagons began to roll through the Gates, and line up at a short distance.
"Yes, Pell, something, indeed, may be of some matter..." And madness, Einin thought. First thing after business with Emril's train was settled, Einin would go and find Kaylee. They were not much more than acquaintences, but even Kaylee was the sort to accept common sense.

As the group rode on toward the Keep, Lux ruminated on their young leader's words. She studied the other girl's features silently, and was most impressed with what she saw. Though young, the girl had noble intentions and manners, and Lux was willing to trust this most reckless mission to her seemingly capable hands.

Lux was not, by nature, much of a follower. Her profession - Assassin - was a lonely one, but it had its benefits. She answered to herself, and her skills had been in so much demand that she could set her own guidelines per job. Her employers had relied enough on her abilities that she demanded more of them than they ever had of her.

Now, with the war full-fledged and overtaking everything in its path, Lux was willing to be a soldier, commanded by the young Kaylee, ready to serve and take orders. There was no need to kill in stealth, when death was being served so openly, and Lux was ready to put aside her own needs to ensure that there would be a country left and worth fighting for.

As a member of a prominent Fighter family, Lux had been raised to put her land and her countrymen before herself. Her profession had changed much of those beliefs, as she'd been hired to slaughter neighbors and family friends. True, she did not take a job unless it appealed to her senses of Right and Justice, but she was still a dealer of death and on the wrong side of her upbringing.

Now, Lux returned to her roots, far enough away from them as she was, ready to lay down her life for the good of all Arcana.

The group passed the Central gates, (ones from which the caravan hails)as the tavern was deeper inland and somewhat away from Brimsrose keep. Kaylee looked upon the travelers, she recognized a few, one stuck out like a sore thumb. She had met him several times prior. Though he was more of an accquaintance than a friend, she deemed it proper to greet him none-the-less. "Pardon me for a moment. If all of you would continue down the center square, the keep is but ten minutes ride away. I will meet you there shortly. The stable hand will be out front to take the horses, he awaits all of you."

She smiled then veered her steed the opposite direction and headed for Einin. "Good day sir." She said whilst politely dismounting her steed. "A little late in the year is it not?" Her eyes scanned the community of people. "More refugees?" Her green eyes dimmed, but did not fall. "Such ravagings cannot continue."

The Healer gave a nod."There are many who come fromm Underwood and Opheniron with wounds that have festered. Some are more than I can save, others are easy. Still, they have been so great in number that I find myself worn by my compassion. I doubt I've the strength to attend to another...and yet...another will come. BUt I am delaying you. Good seeing you again Drell. Be careful with the girl."
