Princess bride is a very good movie *grins*
Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a top on my list also!
"What is the air speed volacity of an unladen swallow?"
"African or European?"
"I don't know. Ahh!" *is thrown into pit of eternal doom*

Darth Spork Oh man, now I need to go buy those books too. So much reading to do and so little time. sweatdrop On a related note has anyone read the Bourne books that could tell me how much they differ from Hollywood's version? I started reading The Bourne Identity, then got bored halfway through. The only differences I remember was how he met the girl (I forget her name) and how he escaped from the Swiss bank.

Hmm thanks for the info. I also hear that the villain is different. Hmm, perhaps I will try to find it at the library.

There's no way I could ever compile a top 10 list of favorites, I like too many movies for many different reasons.
The Princess Bride is easily one of the better movies ever made, if only on dialogue and cheorography alone, but do you remember the soundtrack at all? It was like something composed by the producer's kid brother on a $20 keyboard bought at radio shack. xp
I also have to agree with Spork, The Truman Show is definately somewhere in my top 5. There's nothing I can find wrong with that movie.

Electric Monk I was so surprised when I saw in the credits that the music was done by Mark Knopfler. MARK KNOPFLER! The guy who wrote "Sultans of Swing" and "Walk of Life", not to mention "Juliet", wrote that wimpy, forgettable soundtrack! Yep! It's funny how often that happens. My mother used to know the guy who directed and put together the score for Amadeus. Won some sort of award for it and everything. Then she noticed that his name was also on the credits for, get this, Ernest Goes to Camp. When confronted his reply was "Hey, a guy's gotta pay his rent right?" xd

Hmmm... Here are my top ten, in no particular order:
Princess Mononoke #1: Seven Samurai Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon The Princess Bride The Blues Brothers Collateral The Shawshank Redemption One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Schindler's List Jin-Roh
Didn't make the cut: the Legend of the Drunken Master
I'm the type that'd put up detailed descriptions as to why I chose each one, but right now I'm too lazy.
I really reccomend that you go out and watch Seven Samurai. It is the best movie I have ever seen in my life. It helps to know a bit about Japanese culture and history, but you can get by without.

It helps to know a bit about Japanese culture and history, but you can get by without. I haven't seen "Seven Samurai" (I haven't seen nearly enough Kurosawa movies), but I have seen "The Magnificent Seven" which I understand has the same plot, not to mention Yul Brenner. Got to see "Seven Samurai", though. It's on my list.
