____________________________________________________________ - Eleanor Vatonage - ____________________________________________________________ "I think I will..." replied Ellie softly. It was much better to be in her best friend's arms... But it really shouldn't have felt that way, should it? What was she to know anyways. After a moment however she did shift a little, that medicine did make one drowsy. She was pretty sure she would fall asleep right there, with how nice it felt. As much as she tried to push that away, a few yawns finally gave her away. Ah Ellie.

How long had it been? With just the two of them standing there doing nothing but holding each other? The Blacksmith had no idea, he had stopped paying attention to the time. Seeing how she was tired, he decided that it was time to break them up. He gently raised the girl, lifting her in his arms, and placed on the bed. Covering her up and everything. "I'll go now, Ellie... Blair shouldn't be long anymore. Rest well." He gave her a quick kiss on the forehead before leaving. That had been... different than what he had expected his day to be.//Exit Kim

_________________________________________________________________________________________ - Blaire Vatonage, & Lucas Grey - _________________________________________________________________________________________ -New Day- That... had been hell. Blaire couldn't still believe what had happened at the Masquerade. The bloodbath, the disaster, the-everything! She still didn't even know where Ellie was. "Mom? Are you here?" No response. The teenager frowned, pulling a still dizzy Lucas to her side. The guy was still recovering from fainting for a good... 2 hours. Well the home had been locked... so... She left Lucas at the living room couch and searched around for her sister. Nothing. "Lucas... I can't find-" the girl stopped right there, at the living room to find a simple note.
Dear Blaire,
I'm not sure... Okay-I... I'm sorry for leaving you alone at the Masquerade but, something happened. I'll call you when I can to explain. I took Rune with me so... yeah I'll call you. Short version. I left with Yoakim.
Love Ellie.
"What the f-" Blaire cut herself off to think on the crappy note. She left? Where the hell!? With Rune!? She was still in a panic over the Masquerade so finding out her sister had just left, the only adult in the house, was a little upsetting. At least she was alive. "Call when?" mumbled the girl before glancing at the telephone, that actually had a message. Right when she turned on the machine, Lucas joined her in the living room. "What's that-" "Shhh." With a frown at being quieted, Lucas was just about to say something when the message started:
"...It's recording? No I dont-Oh yeah it is! ...Um Blaire, it's Ellie, and Rune. So I'm... just calling to let you know... How do I say this? Well I'm at..." "Ellie, just tell her." "...I'm married. I'm at Niagara Falls. I'll call you later. Love you."
Both teenagers just stared at the phone for a moment. Did they hear right? Of course Ellie had said that so quickly... But it was clear. All of a sudden a grin broke into the young girl's mouth and she raised her hand to her side, giving Lucas a chance to high five it. "Yeah! I knew it~" "No you didn't. You wanted it." "Shut up. Same thing." So Ellie was married... WAIT. She eloped!? Damn... Thinking that clearly, Blaire had to laugh a bit. So now... who was she going to stay with? Lucas? Fine by her. But tonight was horrible enough, they were crashing at her home. "Luke, there's some of your clothes in the guest room, help yourself" said the girl looking up at her friend. "Thanks Blaire... Hey." "What?" "Sorry for flaking out over there." "You're a wimp... I should've known." "Shut up..." A chuckle came from the girl still. "Night." With that the blond wrapped his arms around the white haired girl and kissed her forehead. "That's for scaring you... Just because we're not together doesn't mean I get to-Yeah..." "...I know..." "...I was scared you know... that something might've-" "I know... I know... Good night Lucas." Blaire only smiled gently as the boy released her and headed to the guest room to change and drop to bed. It was pretty damn late, so she made her way to her room and changed to some pajamas and headed to bed. It would be really fun talking this over with the rest of her family.

~A Different Day~ It may be a surprise that Conor knew what day it was today – even bigger of one to find that he had known it for years, he just never acknowledged it as meaning anything until that day. He was at the doorstep, grinning broadly as he knocked on the door. Blaire's birthday. ******** lucky it came by on the same week that Keith was at the city! Otherwise, he wasn't sure how he would manage to get to her house without Keith tagging along. No, he wouldn't have been able to go period if Keith knew. He would just talk him out of it or try to use logic as to why he shouldn't hang around her. He snorted – it wasn't his business! ..Uh.. That didn't feel right, even to just think.. He frowned and shook his head, holding the tub of ice cream he had grabbed on the way over. He didn't know enough about Blaire to get her any real gift, but he did remember that she liked ice cream! When she was ten. Now? Uh.. Well, who the ******** didn't like ice cream?! It was impossible! Unless she got that weird allergy he – ********, shut up. Now. Just open the door.
He rolled his eyes at himself and knocked on the door again. Two more minutes passed by, no answer, and the ice cream was getting heavy and cold. It was winter time, so he couldn't expect it to start melting or anything, but.. Really. Last he remembered, this house was always bustling with energy! Even with just Ellie, Blaire, and the kid, there still should be something. But, the house was silent as can be. Only his knocks gave it any life. It was starting to creep him out and make him nervous. He had made sure to get here before school hours so he could get Blaire to ditch with him, so she couldn't be at school! Unless she got there early, but Conor had checked the school just before arriving and the doors hadn't even opened! No one was there at seven! She should be getting ready or at least Ellie should be in there doing something – she was ******** mom now! He chewed his lip and set the tub down on the doorstep, trying the door. Locked. ********. Okay, they were out. ..All of them? It was early in the morning! No festivals that day, no events he knew of, and Blaire would have mentioned a trip if they were leaving, right? Yeah, yeah she would have. She wouldn't leave without telling him! She.. Conor creased his brow and went around the house, hopping the fence when it came to be an obstacle. Backyard? Who locked the back door in a dinky place like this? Not the Vatonage's.
So, without having to break in, he slid it open and stepped inside. The place was.. clean-ish, there was dust, but there wasn't anything to disturb it. It didn't feel like someone had been here for awhile. He stepped through the house just to check to make sure someone wasn't in, but he didn't catch sight of anyone. Checking the drawers – not for anything dirty! - he didn't see much clothes left behind, if any. ..A trip? But, Blaire would have ******** told him! No, hold on.. Conor wasn't anything more than an acquaintance to Blaire, was he? Maybe she wouldn't have.. But, he knew who she would tell. ******** Lucas. He didn't bother shutting the back door as he left through the front, leaving the ice cream for any stray animals to discover.
~Exit Conor~

~A MUCH Different Day~ After everything that had went on, Conor hadn't really.. done much. He left the inn and went to the school, where he kinda sat behind for the night. There wasn't much he could think of doing outside of that. Drugs were taken, he quit his job, and Keith was.. gone. Not that he wasn't prepared for it, but, ********, he.. he didn't think it would happen that soon. It was weird. Not that he hadn't gone around without Keith before, but going around without him and going around without him knowing he was going to do that for ******** ever were completely different things. He couldn't even bring himself to light the shack that kept the PE equipment on fire and that was something that blew his mind. So much so that he had to get the hell out of there to.. somewhere else. The beach was next, where he practically just stood for a few hours without much on his mind. ..If anyone had followed Conor around with a camera, they could have probably succeeded in making a depressing music video on how his dog left him or some s**t. Conor had no clue what those videos were ever about, they just always looked whiny as <********>.
..Another hour of wandering until it was morning, Conor ended up at Blaire's house. Oh, he knew that Blaire didn't live there at that moment. The girl was still holed up at Lucas's, but he.. he needed to lay down somewhere and he knew the home was open. Blaire wouldn't mind if he borrowed her house, right? He needed this and if she didn't.. If she kicked him out or said that she didn't want him, he didn't know what he would do. He had just ******** ruined everything else for this, there was no way he could have anything more to do if Blaire just – no. He couldn't think that of Blaire. Even if they didn't have anything, they were still kinda friends, right? ..She wouldn't just drop that whole year, their childhood, for no good reason. ..Of course, Conor had to remind himself, he alone was a good enough reason. He didn't have to do anything for Blaire to call him a ******** up and toss him out rightfully. His chest tightened at the idea, but he didn't have anything to reassure him that it wasn't true. So, without further ado, he tossed his stuff over the fence and hopped it to let himself in through the back door.

_________________________________________________________________________________________ - Blaire Vatonage - _________________________________________________________________________________________ It had been a while since Blaire came back home. A little after that dreaded masquerade actually, to get more of her stuff. It was a good thing they didn't have a pet or else it'd be skeletal right now. The teenager opened the fence to her home, glancing at the old home and frowning to see the front door partly open. It was possibly from the time Conor came over, and the wind took care of closing it bit by bit. Of course Blaire didn't know that, which had her eying her home carefully. She probably forgot to close up... crap... Well, she hoped everything was all right. Slowly she crossed the distance to the door and opened it carefully. From what she could see everything was all right... dusty and with grass everywhere from having the doors opened, but all right. Blaire relaxed slightly, before glancing at the living room, then the dining room and kitchen. Good. Empty. Now the room. She had taken but a few steps into the hall when she heard the shower running. Oh crap someone was here! Calm down... you need... to call the police! Wait... what if it was someone from her family? They'd call... but Cassie never did so it was a possibility... Hm... She'd check it out anyways. Not before grabbing a broom stick. Just the stick. No broom. Stealthily she went into the huge bathroom that her mother so much adores, frowning slightly at the steam covering the room. She couldn't see very well, but neither could whoever was in there. Blaire creeped a bit closer to the shower, trying her best to look through the glass. Oh boy... that was a guy who she had no clue who it was. A little bit of panic was setting in as she decided to get out of the room. However karma and a rug tripped her... and the thud from her fall plus that clear "Crap!" coming from the girl would make whoever was in there know he wasn't alone. Blaire felt like a turtle right now... on her back with a broomstick she refused to let go off.

A shower was probably a good idea. Not hot water, though. He chose cold because, however horribly dramatic and silly it was of him to think, he didn't feel like he deserved any comfort. Yeah, he sounded like a drama queen, but who the hell was reading his thoughts right then?! No one! Anyone who was should get ******** lost and leave him alone to do whatever the ******** he wanted! Conor had his head against the shower wall, scowling at the drain as he watched the water dwindle down. Still it wasn't his ******** fault. He didn't have.. He didn't need to keep thinking about this. Repeating it over and over like some ******** mantra was starting to grate on his nerves. He didn't do anything! Who was he trying to convince?! ..No one.. He swallowed and scraped his nails against the tiles, rubbing his fingertips raw for no real reason outside he wanted to feel - ...Okay, yeah, no, ******** that s**t. He could stand around and act like some creepy gothic.. emo.. thing kid all he wanted when he wasn't Conor ******** Alvey. He pushed himself back from the wall and shut off the water, just in time for a loud 'thud!' He froze.
..That wasn't him. No earthquakes – he would have felt it. No animals. ...Unless it was a ******** horse that got into the house! God, kill it! He had to kill it! Or run! Was there a window?! He was naked, though, he couldn't – oh, ********, yes, he could! No, but.. firstly, this was ******** paranoid. Secondly, what did he care? If he actually considered it, did it really matter if a horse ate him at that moment? ..Yes, because he didn't want to die. He just felt like he should. Ah, ********, he hated himself right then. Not because he was a total d**k, but because he couldn't decide whether he had been one or not. It just kept going between total s**t and vindication! He needed someone to smack him and tell him what was what, but.. If that happened, he probably wouldn't believe them anyway. Ah, ********, this was getting him nowhere. He still had a mysterious noise to investigate too. So, without anymore whiny thoughts from him, he opened the shower door and looked down at one Blaire, scared stiff. “..Uh, hey.” He said after a moment of silence, but didn't take much mind to the fact he was naked. ..Well, he was used to walking around the inn room naked with Keith, it wasn't that big of a deal to him right then. Especially with how.. eh he was.

_________________________________________________________________________________________ - Blaire Vatonage - _________________________________________________________________________________________ The shower stopped running. Oh crap. Oh crap. Oh crap. Who would've thought five seconds would be so long to Blaire. Her eyes scampered around the room, forgetting she knew this layout inwards and outwards completely, for the door. Ah it was behind her! With panic setting in how was she supposed to know!? ...THE DOOR! Blaire drew in a breath, closed her eyes, and kept the stick in front of her for defense. That... voice... The girl lowered the stick and opened one eye, then the other. It was Conor! She let that breath out before narrowing her eyes slightly at the boy. "What the-Conor! You almost gave me a heart attack here!" Hey wait a moment... he was in her house... "How did you-" Obviously, Blaire stopped right there upon the realization that he was naked. In front of her. Yes, her gaze did go there. The teenager blushed furiously at that before scampering to get up. She was cool. Yes. Cool. A glance back at naked Conor made her realize she wasn't. "Um... dude... towel. I-If you want you know..." she tried to say coolly, and glanced to her side nervously, taking a few steps to the door and shutting it instantly. Blaire leaned against the door with a hand covering her open mouth and red face. Did that-What-Uh... Holy... Yes.

Conor stared at her blankly for a long while, unsure as to what the hell she was going on about. Then again, Conor wasn't surprised to find a Vatonage in their own home – even if he thought she was still with Lucas – but, Blaire did have an excuse to panic when she saw someone who had broken into the home there. ..But, in Conor's mind, he knew Blaire and she knew him. Really, what was the big deal? ..Nothing really was. Not to him at that moment. He watched her stare down at him and he raised an eyebrow. What? Hadn't she ever seen a – oh. ..Oh.. yeah.. Uh. He forgot. That sounded pretty dumb, even to him, but, he ******** forgot that Blaire hadn't.. done anything. Ever. It shouldn't be a surprise that he had grown accustomed to assuming everyone had gone behind the bushes once or twice when he met them. With the lifestyle he had, the people he chose to 'speak' to, yeah, of course. He never was interested in screwing a virgin, after all. Too docile, too much work, and, ********, they were always crap in bed. He waited until the door shut and frowned, disliking that sound. But, he shooed that thought away because he knew it wasn't anything important. It was just him being a wuss.
He turned and went to grab a towel, as Blaire had squeamishly requested, then dried himself quietly, letting her calm down on the other side of the door. Did he ever dry himself off? ..Not really, he was more of a swipe-and-drop sort of person when it came to that waste of time. But, he was thinking right then. About what? Several things, most of it bullshit that tired him but had to be gone over at least once or twice while the gears were turning. The newest one that popped into his head was of Blaire, though. The girl was flushed red, trying her best to remain calm when he knew she was freaking out at her first glimpse of a guy. ..Or she had better, otherwise he would ******** murder Lucas for ruining her with his effeminate body and tiny d**k. But, for now, he'd believe she was being cute. He'd let his heart flutter and push aside any aches he had, focus all his attention on that quick, uplift, the ticklish feeling in his stomach. Hey, maybe he could even smile at this rate! He tried it for a brief moment before dropping that. No.. No, he never smiled anyway. It wasn't anything new. None of this was. Except for Blaire. He dropped the towel and went for his pants, sliding them on slowly, still in some form of thoughtful shock.
What was Keith to him..? ..A friend. A friend who ******** on occasion, but a friend first. Kinda what he thought a.. a sibling would be like. Screwed up, right? Yeah, it was, but that was as close to the truth as Conor had ever come. ..What had happened? Keith ******** left him. What will happen with him and Blaire? If they stayed like this? As something in between? Friends who just kissed and eventually would ******** as time went on without a definite answer, then it'd be the same goddamned s**t it was before and everyone knew how that ended. He paused at his shirt, eyes narrowing in contemplation. Yeah.. this.. this made sense. A whole ******** lot of sense. If that was their flaw, then to hell if he was gonna do it again. He dropped the shirt before even starting to tug it on, going to the door and pulling it open instead. Instead of meeting air, as he expected, he was met with Blaire. The girl was still leaning against the door when he came to it, leading him to be practically pressed against her when he started out. ..It worked, he guessed. Instead of pushing her off, he wove his arms around her and rested his head on her shoulder. It should be a moment for the world to stop when Conor honestly admitted to himself that he was hugging someone. But, it still carried on it's merry way, leaving the clock to be ticking while he kept quiet.
Then, when he felt he could do this, he spoke. “..Blaire..” It started in a small crack before it straightened into something clear, concise. He had thought this out for long enough, it was time he at least tried. “What are we? ..Uh, I mean.. are we.. anything? ..Or.. or are we gonna be anything? Because.. I.. need to know.” He thought he had it, but, <********>, his voice started to crack, stutters came out, and he was tightening his arms in fear she may leave.

_________________________________________________________________________________________ - Blaire Vatonage - _________________________________________________________________________________________ That was a stupid move wasn't it? Blaire shuffled nervously as those minutes replayed in her mind. What was he doing here anyways? How did he get in? Well she probably left the door opened those weeks ago... but still! She let out a breath as her gaze turned to the ceiling. What was she going to do? He was in there... for some reason. There wasn't much she could decide without talking to him first. Though she was too flustered to do so right now.
After spending a bit pondering the mind, Blaire had basically forgotten she was leaning on a door. When it opened and she fell back her usual squeal was interrupted by Conor's body, which caused her breath to leave. It didn't come though with his arms around her and his head on her shoulder. This did worked, and it kept the girl still, except for straightening herself to not fall, and moving her hands over his arms. What was it about him? That made her like this? To be happy for any second that she was next to him? Lucas provided comfort... never something like this.
When he spoke up... and asked that, Blaire was at a loss at first. She had taken in a breath, and was now slowly letting it out. Since Conor's face was right next to her, she could only watch him from the corner of her eyes. It took her a few seconds before finally having something to answer him. Actually she had it a long time ago, it was just trying to say it. "...I'm not sure... what we are..." she said softly. Really what were they? What Conor was fearing? No... " ...But I wanna... be something... because I like you... a lot." There, she said it. Now she turned her head, just a bit, to see him more clearly. What would he say to that? That's what she was waiting for.

She didn't pull away. A whole weight just dropped from him as he realized that. Conor was still holding onto her, but he didn't have to force, he could just.. relax. As a silent test, he loosened his grip just slightly, enough for her to be able to move in his arms. He was still stiff as ever, though, his haunches up and ready to pounce in case she tried to run. If he had to be, he'd be as possessive as he could just to keep her. Sadly enough, it wasn't so much her he wanted to keep. It was someone. Something had to stay there or.. or Conor couldn't just.. he didn't know what he would do. If someone wasn't there, he would lose it. ********, he couldn't spend one night after Keith alone, not without just moping everywhere he could get to. Not without seeming like some kind of ******** p***y about it. He wasn't a girl or a Lucy. He could handle this, he always had. He just.. wanted it. He didn't need it. ..Right? Conor didn't have an answer to that, but since had he ever dropped what he wanted?
The boy stared at her, took to breathing in her scent, trying to memorize it and give a name to it outside of 'Blaire'. It wasn't like what he was used to.. Softer, cleaner – not the muddied taste Keith had. There wasn't smoke or sex, that bitter smell he always considered. ..It made him want to fall asleep, really. He could do that, yeah? Just keep her with him like this and sleep. Had he ever done that with Keith..? ..No. No, he hadn't. That's what the difference was, why Blaire was better, why he had left him, and why this wasn't a mistake. Nothing she could agree with was a mistake. He didn't change in expression, even if his heart thudded heavily at what she said, even more when another image came to mind. Another thought that had him hesitant. Yes, there was the fear this wasn't right. The idea that maybe she couldn't make a mistake, but maybe it wasn't really her making anything here. Maybe it was all him and, s**t, did he know he could ******** up. There was something more upsetting in this than that, though, as that chance he gave her vanished with another tightening of his arms, securely her forcefully against him. But, he ignored it. Because Blaire didn't have any room to escape now. Not from him and that was how it should have been, right? Always.
“..I..” He stopped, taking another breath, “I want that too, Blaire.” He said that name with such firmness it was odd, like a break in that lucid tone for no real reason either could possibly know. This was Blaire. “I.. I ******** like you.. I don't want you to.. leave again, I don't want that, 'kay? So, you'll stay, 'kay?” He stopped, knowing he sounded pathetic, but he didn't care at that moment. He stared at her, expression shifting to something more awkward, nervous, and overall pleading. “You'll stay. Like you did before. You'll be here, yeah?” ********, this was hard. He didn't know why, but this was hurting way more than it should. It was supposed to make him feel better, not ******** force himself to tense so he didn't shake like some stray dog. He may have been squeezing her too much, but it was hard not to. ..Couldn't anything about this be easy?

_________________________________________________________________________________________ - Blaire Vatonage - _________________________________________________________________________________________ What might've surprised Conor shouldn't be that he Blaire didn't pull away from his grip. No, she stayed there, and tightened her grip on him. Of course her own was just on his arms, while his was on her whole upper body, but it was the thought, feeling, and metaphor of it that counted. At least she had until his grip tightened on Conor. The boy didn't need to worry, because it was nice, comforting to be held like this by him. A tight embrace... someone who didn't want you to go...
Blaire felt her heart skip a bit when he said that, stopping at her name. He wanted something... and then he kept taking, making her heart go faster than ever. One would think it would pop out! But... as nervous as it made her, it added happiness into the mix. Still, that changed to a soft expression when Conor finished speaking. Leave? But... he was the one who left! Not her-unless... she hadn't been home lately... Could that be it? It was a possibility. "...I'm not going anywhere Conor..." replied the girl softly, but firmly. "I'll be here... I'll stay..." She would be here for him. "...but... You have to promise me..." added the girl, her voice drifting slightly at the end. "...You won't leave again." It was a two way street. He needed her in his life, and so did she.

Leave? Again? Conor didn't move, confused as to what she could mean by that. He had never left, it was always them who left him. Blaire had left him too – the whole island had when no one bothered to contact him, when she moved on to Lucas, when everyone changed. He didn't like that, still didn't like that.. But, Blaire had just promised. It wouldn't happen again. She was going to stay as his for as long as he was there too. In something Conor would never admit was a cuddle, he set his head on her shoulder and pressed his cheek against it, giving another squeeze, “I won't.” The muffled reply came in a soft tone, similar to her own promise, but it was hard to tell if it was as firm as hers had been. It wasn't insecure in it's meaning, at least, and he didn't allow her much time to decipher it before he turned his head to give a light kiss to the part of her neck he.. hadn't been snuggling.
His lips rested there for a time in consideration. They were something now, right? That was what this was about. She was his, so that meant they were 'together'.. When they weren't together, they had already done the basics – holding hands, kissing, making out, all that classic stuff saved for the second or.. third.. date.. He didn't know, really, since, yeah, Conor didn't date, how the ******** was he supposed to know what the 'rules' were on it? He just knew that he wanted to go further right then – needed it. He let go of the girl long enough to turn her and guide her back to the opposing wall before taking his hold once again. He stared at her for another long moment before leaning in to kiss her. Hard at first, if only for the memories of doing it with Keith, before relaxing and stilling, giving her at least a small choice in the manner.

_________________________________________________________________________________________ - Blaire Vatonage - _________________________________________________________________________________________ That, was just what Blaire needed to hear.
If it had been possible to redden even more, she did at that squeeze. At least until she practically melted at that contact on her neck. It was so light, barely even noticeable. Though his lingering touch there was, which made the girl's heart quicken. Blaire should've probably been wondering why Conor was at her house anyways. Why they had come to this know... Maybe simply ask him on anything... but that wasn't anywhere close to her mind. All that mattered was the boy who was holding her. Well for a bit, he was then moving her to the opposing wall. Good thing those halls weren't that big, or microscopic. Just right. She had only looked up at Conor when he stared at her, certainly surprised by that kiss. Honestly, she liked it. It had caught her off guard but... the moment he relaxed, Blaire returned the kiss, not quite as hard, but not as soft like she had at the festival. Right now was a good a time to stop, make it clear with Conor, set some ground rules. Or that was the plan from some time ago. At the festival they were interrupted enough for Blaire to think it through, but right now... she wrapped her the blond's neck and pressed herself closer to him... she wouldn't stop.
