Watching Tsunaimei collapse into the esper's arms Maluc saw that the duel had ended. Gripping his scythe tighter, forcing much of his energy onto it, it wreathed itself in the same blackne3ss that was formerly only on the blade. Once the black glow had engulfed the scythe entirely the demon let go of the blade. Instead of falling to the ground it sat still in the air for a moment before disappearing entirely. Turning his attention back to the esper he heard her words, a grim smile spreading weakly across his face as she spoke.
"You misunderstand. Hashmal will never be able to 'reign me in'. I am his master and he is my slave. I've wrought his ruin more times than I could count as he's tried to quell my havok and by my command HE brings order in the wake of MY chaos. The only times it is different is when I wreak my tyranny over those I conquer and it will be no different until I say as such. But to more answer your question; yes, I'm willing to converse with you. Please, speak. You have my ear."

Arrogance dripped from each word as he spoke it, it was because he played it more than it's truth, he'd hoped he could anger the esper enough to cause it to challenge him. While he knew she was stronger than Hashmal and would be an immense difference in combat, he was confident that he could subdue her, perhaps even taking the control of the Virgo stone from Fiora.

Altima smiled in response. "So you come out here for what purpose? Oh mortal bound by Chaos, you're such a pathetic excuse for a 'master,' with the charred remains of your dark heart. To think that one of my own is slave to one such as yourself is quite disappointing. Our passions even in our darkest hour is worth 100x more than your kindest," she stated, moving her silver bangs a bit. "Is Chaos what you use to fill that void you call a soul, my dear?"

Fiora watched what was going on between the esper and Maluc, and having spotted Tsunaimei, makes her way to the exhausted knight. Kneeling down next to where Altima had left her, the judge cast a cure2 upon her, just to be safe. She hadn't seen the fighting that occurred, thus any injures could be where she couldn't immediately see them.

Meanwhile, Yumei had helped get Lyrac situated in one of the rooms. A squire had taken the former judge's sword elsewhere. Had it been lighter, Yumei wouldn't have minded to do it herself. She sighed while standing in the hall. Would 3 men be enough to keep Lyrac back if he tried to attack them once he woke up?

Bane, having no line of work at the moment, decided to head to Virgo to see if the Order had anything for him to do. He paused at the entrance upon spying Altima and the Judge of Leo. He watched carefully as they spoke to one another.

Dmitri was surprised by the events that took place and how quickly they had transpired. For a moment, Dmitri stood fixed to the spot he was standing before he shook his head and cleared his mind. His Judge, HIS Leader was here, stirring some trouble! Dmitri was torn between standing up for his friend in Virgo and defending his Judge. He shifted from one foot to the other and decided for the time being to stay out of it.

Maluc laughed at Altima's words. "Pathetic cast away! Your ignorance shows with such boundless expanse as you speak such obvious facts as insult. If I found passion in kindness then perhaps I'd still be as weak as any of you tainted Undying trash. And you speak to me about my soul? I have nothing so feeble and fragile, so mortal as that. For one who's supposed to be such an omnipotent masterpiece, you sure are blind." As Maluc had been speaking small traces of green had begun seeping downwards tracing the previous outlines of the mask, by the end of his speech they had traced the entire outline of his helmet that was missing as well and begun on pieces of his armor. With a flash of green and white the mask and helmet became whole. With a choked cry the demonic judge fell to his knees clutching his head. "NO! I was free!" He screamed at nothing, writhing in pain on the floor. Soon the green lines had traced where his armor had been as well. With another green flash his armor had become fully repaired and the demon's voice fell silent, leaving an armored body breathing heavily upon the ground.

Rising to his feet the Judge stood weary and without balance. Looking around it took him a moment to realize where he was. "Hashmal, come out. It's over and we have work to do."

Hashmal of the order Leo

PostPosted: Fri Jul 16, 2010 5:07 am

Floating from Maluc's hip the Leo stone came to rest in the air and Hashmal appeared kneeling with his head bowed before his master. "I apologize, sire, he bested me again, our training has been for nothing. He is growing more powerful each year, and his progress is increasing faster than ours can." Having spoken his report he turned to rise and face the Order of Virgo. Standing before Altima the lion hung his head. "I've failed you and brought disorder to your home. I hope in time as I work for it, you may find it within your grace to forgive me." He stood silent waiting for either a reply or a command.

Watching silently as the lion reported to him he shook his head. "We'll figure something out friend, but now is not the time." He replied letting the esper rise. Watching once again as Hashmal began to apologize and beg for forgivness from Altima, he knew it would be his turn next to speak on his regrets. Before he approached though he glanced around the room in a dark awe of the destruction that had been wrought upon the Order's cathedral hall.

It was then that he spied Tsunaimei, wounded and bloodied from battle. "No." The word escaped his lips and no sooner than it fallen silent upon the room had he teleported to stand next to the sapphire knight. Casting a spell immediately a blue glow engulfed him, the Renew spell was more than he should be able to cast in such a weakened state, and while he knew it was beyond him he was willing to put some of his life force into the cast. With so much stress in it's casting Maluc was unable to speak it's incantation as he set the white magic forward. With a bright white glow it engulfed the blue knight healing any wound that had befallen her. Maluc fell to one knee, but kept his gaze on her. "She's fine now. Free of my cursed doings." Turning to Fiora, Maluc stayed on one knee. "I hope the demon wasn't too much trouble. I'll do whatever I can to repay what he's wrought upon this holy place."

Tsunaimei let out a small moan as she was propped up against the cathedral. Her eyes were still glazed over despite them being open. The warm aura she had felt while near Altima slowly drifted away as the Esper moved towards Maluc. Tsunaimei felt a healing spell be cast upon her and gingerly looked over to find that Lady Fiora was the catalyst for such an event. The Cure 2 spell had helped relieve a lot of the pain and most of the minor cuts on Tsunaimei's person. "L-Lady Fiora? Is... is this... the afterlife? Forgive me... I have failed you..." Tsunaimei asked meekly unsure of whether or not she had actually survived. The sapphire knight's body ached all over from exhaustion and injuries sustained during the battle. After a little while, Tsunaimei slowly began to regain her wits. Just in time to see Maluc hover over her. Not knowing of what transpired between himself, Altima, and Hashmal, Tsunaimei attempted to reach for her sword. Her arm ever so slowly inched towards Excalibur only to fall short about halfway there. Her strength still too far gone to be of any use as her arm bounced off her chest and fell limp at her side once again. The piercing look of determination renewed itself in the knight's dark brown eyes. "If you are going to take my life then know that I accept death not with fear but with honor! I won't give you the satisfaction of disgracing myself while treading at Death's door step..." Tsunaimei said defiant till the end, as she winced in pain and breathed gingerly. She witnessed Maluc cast a spell on her and to her surprise it completely rejuvenated her. The female Knight starred in utter confusion as to what Maluc just did. Why would he save her life when just minutes ago he tried to take it along with the rest of Virgo? It didn't make any logical sense to the Knight. Still thinking there was danger, Tsunaimei sprang up and placed herself between Maluc and Fiora. "Lady Fiora! Get out of her while you still can!" She yelled over her shoulder to the Virgo Judge while leaving herself vulnerable to attack by spreading her arms openly to act as a shield. Gazing at Maluc head on with a reawakened sense of fury. "Do your worst demon!" Tsunaimei challenged. She was still unaware that Maluc was no longer possessed by the evil that consumed him earlier.

Altima watched with curiosity as the dark energy became contained somehow, and the esper allowed a shiver to travel down her spine. So he was a demon after all. She could feel the demonic power, but... it seemed that creature was right about one thing. She was blind to what had transpired. She blinked as she heard Hashmal speak. "Ah Hashmal, you did what you could. I only regret that I didn't try to subdue the demon myself," she said, softly smiling before looking in the direction of the others.

"No, you didn't fail me, Tsunaimei," the judge reassured. It was when Maluc had approached and Tsunaimei moved to protect her, Fiora moved from out behind Tsun. "He feels different... Why exactly have you come here...?" She hadn't heard what happened, being distracted by what her vice judge had been saying.

Altima shook her head, seeing what Tsunaimei was doing. "I feel like their mother at times," she sighed. If she felt she'd need to interfere, she would. But for now, it was nice to see Hashmal once again. How many years had it been? "I hope you or Judge Leo will be willing to explain just how this demon came to possess him, or what demon it is..."

"I'm gald you didn't try to combat him, he draws power from conflict, he would've never receded back into dormancy. I'll explain in Maluc's stead, m'lady. He won't last much longer til he collapses. The demon is powerful, among royalty in the underworld. It possessed him when he'd almost killed it after it came to Ivalice hundreds of years ago. Just before the great cataclysm, and yes it's been keeping him alive for all these years. It was long before he and I had met, of course. Every year on the night he was possessed it breaks free again. He and I have been training so I could subdue the demon, before it caused any trouble like this."

Still on one knee Maluc felt his strength begin to fade so he summed up what he could quickly. "I am possessed by a demon. He was the one you fought, I've come back into control. He'll be gone... for some...time ... now." As his words began to trail off so did his consciousness quickly leaving him to fall backward. As everything faded to black, the Judge retreated into his mind to fight the demon on his own.

"Uhhhh....I'm looking for the Judge? Judge Fiora?" Bane decided to ask, since things appeared to have calmed down, though he was confused by what just happened. He moved away from the door to be in the room finally.

Dmitri didn't know what to say other than he hoped that Maluc would win in his battle against the demon. He moved to join his Judge's side and made sure he was alright, at least the best could. "Lady Fiora...is there a place where I can keep him safe for the time being?"

Tsunaimei slowly brought her arms back to their natural position at her sides. She was still relatively confused although she listened to Hashmal's story. The blue dressed Knight looked around at the others in order to get a sense of reassurance. Tsunaimei rose her weapon in front of her in a defensive stance only to find that Maluc was fallen over as opposed to trying some cheap tactic. Slowly lowering her sword again as well as her nerves, Tsunaimei looked over at Dmitri and then turned around at the newcomer Bane and eyed him down cautiously. "And who are you?" Tsunaimei asked sternly with her sword aimed at the man. After the grueling battle she just went through, you couldn't blame her for still being on edge.

Kyrie walked up to the group at the cathedral. "So what have I missed?" she said as she had finally arrived from her stay in Bervenia.

"Ah, no wonder he went back in so quickly. It's been a long time since I bothered keeping up with demons," Altima said, looking over as Maluc collapsed. "What will you do once he awakens?"

Fiora nodded to Dmitri. "Yes, we can put him in one of the rooms where he'll rest undisturbed. Help me get him inside and I'll have him taken away," she told him, beginning to work on getting Maluc up, then blinked as she saw the man Bane. "I'm Judge Fiora. You have some sort of business with Virgo?"

Altima glanced to the side, spotting Kyrie. "Ah, you're a new squire I take it?" the esper asked, looking her over to gauge the girl. "I'm sure Judge Fiora would like to speak with you once she gets Judge Leo situated. Either way, welcome to Virgo, dear."

Before Bane would reply to Fiora, he glanced over to Tsunaimei. "My name is Gerrick DeTorro, but I prefer my nickname, Bane." He flashed a grin. "I suppose its because I'm the bane of someone's existence." It was then he looked back to Fiora.

"I was wondering....you got any odd jobs that need to be taken care of? I'll do them. For a small fee."

Dmitri nodded and helped Fiora lift Maluc...until Bane had moved in to talk to her. With a growl, Dmitri shifted his attention the the man. "Perhaps you can speak with her later. She's busy at the moment."
