And the subject is:

Top 5 Characters You Just Don't Like

They don't have to be villains, they don't have to be antagonists... you just have to not like them. Maybe it's their code of morality, maybe they have stupid hair; logic doesn't have to apply in the slightest. All you know is that you took one look at them (relative) and decided they totally stepped in your loathing.

edit: They don't have to be ranked, just the five you dislike more than all the rest.

Awww snap. I'm going to actually have to think about this one. I'm fine with trivially labeling characters I love - it is the ones I hate I want to be sure about.

Lets think...

Name Ross Geller
Series Friends
I drink the haterade because He's a whiny moron who makes paleontologists look bad. I think maybe he's meant to be a woobie, but I just want to hit him until he stops moving, and then hit him some more.

Name The Joker
Series Batman The Animated Series
I drink the haterade because you're meant to, and if you don't there is something wrong with you.

Name Sam Merlotte
Series True Blood
I drink the haterade because he's a creeper. A jealous, stalky creeper. Full disclosure: I only actually like two characters (Lafayette and Bill) while most I only tolerate. I'm neutral on Tara. I don't care if Sam can turn into a dog, he's boring, stupid, and creepy.

Name Marlo Stanfield
Series The Wire
I drink the haterade because he's a vicious, glassy eyed thug. So is two thirds of the rest of the cast, sure but Marlo is just straight up hood. There's no nuance, no savvy. He's nothing more than the product of his environment. He exists purely to get money without any clue of what to actually do with it.

Name Sasuke Uchiha
Series Naruto
I drink the haterade because there's just so many reasons. I can tolerate whiny, angsty characters with a massive sense of entitlement as long as they stay off in the corner or decide to do something productive about it at some point. Sasuke just continued to stay in the spotlight and just make stupid decision after stupid decision. When the show was still watchable, it was a favourite hobby to holler at Naruto to tear Sasuke's face off every time they fought. I still say that he should have mopped the floor with Sasuke in the fight at the waterfall.

Loltelevision. I don’t ever watch much, but these days I’ve been checking a few things out in my downtime.

Jenny Humphrey//Gossip Girl
I really liked her at first – she was clever, determined, and had an attitude. She managed things on her own and was likeable for it. Then they decided it would be fun to turn her into a lying, scheming b***h who revels in breaking up relationships. Way to “queen bee” it.

Jonathan Gilbert//The Vampire Diaries
He’s just unpleasant. He is antagonistic toward his family and the joy he took in
killing Pearl was... awful. That, and he’s not really much of an interesting villain.

Lady Rochford and Thomas Culpepper//The Tudors
I don’t like Katherine Howard, at all. But Lady Rochford steps over into being an outright b***h when it comes to her, and Culpepper isn’t making it any better. Lying and cheating in the king’s court probably would be the best survival option, but scenes like when they’re laying in bed reading the poor girl’s love letters and making fun of her are rage-inducing.

Hao//Shaman King
There was a point where I loved to hate him – he was obviously evil, but humorous and lighthearted about it, and constantly keeping things interesting – but eventually he just became... so awful. The willingness to kill off any person at any time is disgusting, no matter what his intentions were. I find him easier to hate in the anime than the manga, considering the endings of each.

And I’m cheating and stealing from the movie-verse here. Why? Because out of every character ever, no one will ever make me rage as much as...
Alice//Resident Evil (the movies)
She is written to be a complete God Sue, outshining every character the fandom has had since 1997. She flies planes, goes hand to hand with Nemesis, saves the poor little heroines from the original stories, and probably bakes cookies too. Protip: When writing a character “for the fans,” don’t make her a mary-sue version of your significant other. Because the majority of the fans hate her anyway.

Yes you.

I want to redo my mix tape and include this week's Fringe. It brought the crack and brought it hard.

I, generally, only hate characters I feel are bad. Not bad as in evil or misguided - I don't take into account the in-show reasons/existence at all. I love a lot of "bad" characters; what I take into account is how they are written, why and what purpose they are in the show, and how the actor portrays the character. Basically outside-show reasons.

The following characters are all ones I find to be insufferable for whatever dire or ridiculous reason. And they are pretty much all from shows I don't watch or have limited exposure to. Most likely because I find the entire show to be not of my taste.

Marissa Cooper from The OC
- A past roommate loved the show and as we shared a room I saw large chunks of it. I firmly dislike the entire series and cast but she annoyed me the most. Because she isn't interesting, is not well acted, or much of anything but OMG a alright best friend with a hot bad boy boyfriend. Not impressed.

Olivia Dunham from Fringe
- Anna Torv does not act exceptionally well. She is monotone, the character is forced, flat, and her face just kind of annoys me.

Lois Lane from Smallville
- I have seen about a handful of random Smallville episodes and NONE with Lois. I saw the character on a commercial once and went "DENIED" and that was that.

Sawyer from Lost
- I've never seen a entire episode of Lost. That said: I just don't care how busy you are in your love triangle and hiding from mist monsters and the others; put on a goddamn shirt and just shut the ******** up.

Practically the entire cast of Glee
- The actors are going with what they are instructed to do. Which is primarily to be anti-John Hughes stereotypes in a series trying to be a less sever (and more musical) Pushing Dasies and for the three episodes I did watch it mostly made me want to vomit. Rachel is the most annoying to me personally, partially because Lea Michele is kind of a over exaggerate moron, and partially just because.

And I don't believe it would have been impossible to find an actual wheelchair bound individual who can sing and act to complete the cliche group of lovable misfit losers. Diversity my a**. Try counterproductive.

Top Five Characters I Dislike

Or rather: "Buckle up, it's time to hit the angry button".

Caroline Farrell/Echo/Omega - Dollhouse
b***h Please Eliza's pretty close to Keanu; she's good at one kind of character... put her in that role and watch her go. Echo is not that role; or if it is, Dollhouse is not that series (despite FOX's intentions). Admittedly, it was Eliza's vehicle, but anyone else other than her should have been driving. I was interested in Sierra. I was interested in Adelle. I was interested in Boyd. Hell, I was more interested in Ivy than I was in Echo. FAIL.

Pete Campbell - Mad Men
b***h please this guy's storyarc will end with him eating a bullet. His facial expressions (because of the story) vary from Angry to Kicked Puppy, and usually both over the course of an episode; he's the show's Sisyphus, every step forward he takes, he gets knocked backwards two. He keeps trudging on though, because he believes he deserves the best; not that it's a bad goal mind you, but the methods he employs (like Wily E. Coyote) ALWAYS backfire.

Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell - Prison Break
b***h please he's almost like the Orochimaru of the series. Weasels his way into everything to give himself an advantage, and always tries to run his own game. Flicks his tongue around just as much too, which is all kinds of unnerving.

Naruto Uzumaki - Naruto
b***h please there's a "running joke" in the early part of the manga about how Naruto isn't the type of character that can hold his own series. It'd be funny if he wasn't actually the main character; that has to be why Kishimoto gave the story such a large supporting cast; so he could figure out how to properly rip off Dragon Ball Z how to run with Naruto as a main later on. The character as a whole annoys me; it's even worse that he's a main character. I'd probably tolerate the show/comic more (and still actively following it) if it was called "Sasuke", but honestly, he's getting to be a big bucket of FAIL too.

Peter Petrelli and Sylar (tie!) - Heroes
b***h please if I hear one more time about how they think they're supposed to be special I'm going to pick Claire up and beat them with her.
