A few years ago TV Guide published a list of the top "Cult" shows of all time. They've since updated and expanded their list to include more recent titles. Here is the list:

Jericho should not be in front of Battlestar Galactica, if anything it should be behind Firefly as it is the original poster child for fan's attempting to resurrect their show - and both of those should be behind Doctor Who which should at least be in the top 10. gonk
I pretty much really agree with the top 4 listed though. ninja

There are quite a few shows here I either never heard of or never watched BUT thankfully, quite a few I can say I have watched!
Not heard of:
Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman (only in a Family Guy reference)
Absolutely Fabulous
Twin Peaks
Jericho
The Prisoner
Watched and heart :
Firefly -Wash is Alpha!
Xena - is a Cylon!
Quantum Leap - Al is a Cylon!
Family Guy - is much funnier in the first few seasons and is now just disturbing...but still watchable
MST3k - Rifftrax!
The Simpsons - funny even after 20 seasons
Buffy - must finish someday!
The X-Files - CURSE YOU HOME AND TAPEWORM GUY! gonk
Star Trek - ...I have seen the new movie...that is all... ninja

And you've never heard of Twin Peaks?! That is what made me laugh so hard in the Twilight Rifftrax!

Mike Nelson (as Edward): Went out to Twin Peaks, killed Laura Palmer.
Twin Peaks is another small town in Washington state, and it is also a creepifying David Lynch 90s TV series of mighty Season 1 greatness and very, very, bad Season 2 horribleness. Although Season 2 does have one of the creepiest scenes of anything from TV ever. gonk

I've heard of all of those shows and can only say I watched 5 of them with any amount of fandom. The rest were just kinda there for me. Highlander: the series should be on there.
I'll give 10K in gold to the first person who can name the 5 shows from the list that I'm a fan of.

I guess I can see Who being lower down if it's just counting the North American audience, as it's only really catching on in a big way over here with the new stuff. I think Buffy, BSG, Who, and Firefly are my only representation on there. All my TV fandoms are recent stuff. ********' Skins, y'all.

Star Trek TOS could easily be there instead of Farscape but ulitimatily I've participated in more Farscape fandom stuff. I mostly lurk/stalk Star Trek communities for Spock goodies. ninja
