Lucas managed to enter Viridian City, looking for the Pokemon Center to heal Charmander. His ally was exhausted from the rash encounters, hoping that a return trip would be easier. Once inside the Pokemon Center, the nurse took Charmander to heal him while Lucas looked over his items. Seeing that the only thing in his bag were pokeballs, he felt if necessary to visit the pokemart to get some potions and other necessary items. After receiving his Charmander in perfect health, Lucas then headed to the Pokemart, only to find out that he wasn't going to get anything.

"Hey kid, I need you to deliver this to Professor Oak in Pallet. Mind doing it?" Lucas looked rather aggrivated over the request, but he also found this to be a chance for Charmander to level up some more. Lucas ended up taking the request and parcel as he began his journey back to home.

Lucas looked at the roads leading out of Viridian City, trying to figure which path he should take. To his left and west lies Route 22 which ends up going to a dead end and is a decent place to level up. Forward to the North lies Route 2 and Viridian Forest. Other than leading to Pewter City, it was a good training point. He decided to go north instead, figuring that training on Route 22 would be irrelevant.

Syggy entered the city with a smile on his face. He proceeded past the Pokemon Center and passed the PokeMart, telling the shopkeeper that the package was safely sent. The area was not necessarily heavily populated, but it was more populous than Pallet Town. While he was walking, he noticed a sign that pointed out the Routes connecting to Viridian City: Route 1 in its South, Route 2 in the North, and Route 22 in the West. Besides the sign, he noticed the city's gym. He ran to its entrance only to find out that the gym was closed.

Syggy looked at Charmer, who was facing the gym doors and eager to enter. "We can't go inside," Syggy told Charmer, "but what we can do is explore the other Routes." Charmer looked at Syggy with gleaming eyes and responded, "Char! Char!"

Unwilling to disappoint Charmer, Syggy decided to go to Route 22. On his way to the Route, he was informed by a passerby about the Viridian Forest in Route 2. Syggy was also informed that past the Viridian Forest was Pewter City, where another Gym Leader, Brock, was stationed.

Syggy looked in the north. He could see Route 2, and in the horizon, Viridian Forest. Even from far away the forest gave a small chill in his spine. Who knows what sort of things may happen there? he thought to himself. He looked at Charmer. We're not ready yet, he concluded in his head.

Without any other hesitations and diversions, Syggy and Charmer kept to their original itinerary and rushed straight to Route 22. They both thought that more training would suffice before facing a challenge. Within 5 minutes, they finally arrived to Route 22...

Blade walked into viridian city. He was so happy that he was there. He walked to the pokemon center and healed his pokemon. He walked out and was going to let squirtle out to walk around and meet pidgey, but he decided to go to the poke mart first. But when he got there some guy came up to him and started to talk about a parcel for professor oak. And that he needed it. Blade wondered about it and he decided he would help. He took the parcel and headedback to route 1. But right before he left he let squirtle out.
"We have to go bac to pallet town buddy."
squuirtle just smiled and pointed to route 1.

...After returning from Route 2, Syggy dropped off to the Pokemon Center and had the nurses heal his Pokemon for him. After a good night's sleep, they rushed back to Route 2, with Charmer out of its Pokeball and dashing with Syggy...
