"Yes, Howard is very talented in what he does." she shrugged, taking it in stride. Glancing over at Jon, she smiles faintly. "It had most certainly not." she answers him simply, smiling with only a hint of threat. "You really have no need to worry, Jon. Nothing will go wrong as long as I'm in charge.... which I am." stretching one hand out in front of her, the captain inspects her nails with little interest.

(And the moment we have all been waiting for. XD )
Anlu, in her beutiul, brides-maid gown, stepped fourth out of the woods on Puck';s arm, letting him getly guide her down the isle showing that it was the bride to be next. It had teken them a little longer to get through the woods, seeing as two of the four wore a dress, but they made it out unscathed. As for now, everyone seemed more that ready to go through with this, whether is was excitement, axiousness, or and unwillingness to remain the the spotlight for long. They each had their own reasons, though Anlu could name a few who wanted to drag everything out as long as possible. Wearing a dress feels so wierd. I haven't worn one since I was seven. I miss my pants... She kept her smile in place, knowing that the only ones who would here her would be all but one of the men, and she was sure more than one would mentally laugh at her for hearing her thoughts. She knew she was wearing it for Mori's sake, and for tradition. AFter all, Anlu thought that Mori's wedding should be the event of the decade, or longer, for the Striders.

Grinning to himself, Puck patted Anlu’s arm as if in comfort. There, there, we must all make sacrifices today… he teased with a mental chuckle. His own smile was much more genuine, at the expense of Anlu’s thoughts. He did expect that this wedding was going to haunt his aunt for a while yet. Poor thing, she hated being the center of attention, but by being part of the first Strider pairing and the first marriage, she was going down in the histories. It took all his control not to snicker as he and Anlu carefully took their places. He couldn’t resist giving Jon a teasing wink, though.
Mori could already feel the flush crossing her face, mostly shyness from being the center of attention. If it wasn’t for the fact she doubted Yata wouldn’t tolerate her trying to hide behind him, she would have tried. Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to endure. It had already been a bit of a miracle that she hadn’t tripped once on their up here, and she was going to be grateful for that, and that she and Jon were finally getting married…
…rather than worry about exactly what the Captain had planned for the reception.
Smiling once she caught Jon’s eyes, she was glad to already be flushing when he caught sight of her. The others had said she was going to shock him so much, and she had no idea what they meant. All she cared about was making him proud and just as happy as her that they were going to be wed.

The troll, being the tallest thing standing, would in fact, take at least some of the eyes off of the bride, though unintentionally. He was a fish out of water, a Troll leading a half-demon down the isle. However a spectacle to see, Mori was the crowned jewel of the occasion, and must be shown off as such, at least, to Yata Djinn's mentality. He could see she was all and a bit flustered with the occurrence, to which he smiled. She could surely use a vote of confidence from the one who was walking her down and giving her away. Yata gently spoke into her mind, his voice like a drop creating ripples in a pool of clear water.
"They all look to you in adoration, my dear... tis all and happiness for you from them... today, you are the Dawn's treasure, and Jon will receive you. Stay proud, chin high, and neigh tarry... today is your special day."
Yata smiled gently to her, somehow with not a threatening sooth or carnivorous undertone to it. Somehow, it was un-befitting to him, but got the message across.
"...are you ready my dear?"
Yata said, holding his now toothy smile, showing to her his forearm to hold as they would walk down to the altar. He only expected one answer, and he didn't need to be psychic to hear it coming.

Woah The only word that entered Jon's mind that time. There she was more elegant and beautiful together. Staring at Mori he saw everything, missions to the ends of the earth, new battles scars, warm summer picnics, cold winter nights spent curled up in front of a fireplace, he saw growing old, loosing shape, little hands going through his little things, and none of it bothered him. In fact you could easily say that it excited him a little to finally see her here. It calmed him yet made his stomach turn with fear at the same time. Nemo's previous advice sounded through his mind louder than the increased rhythm of his heart. He took in a deep breath trying to calm it. This was it the moment when he would be joined forever with the woman of his dreams. It was really ironic when he thought on it. A woman who came from such frigid was joining with a man from such a fiery one.
Nemo chuckled under his breath upon hearing Jon's thought. This was all rather fine and dandy. Even the troll fella seemed to be in high spirits. He patted his pocket to ensure the ring was there, It made him feel more comfortable feeling the small circle there. The bandit planned on leaving this place with his head still attached to his shoulders. He knew that Neciel would be the first one to lash out at him no matter what moments that the two had shared over the past few months.

Having made her way from sitting on the stairs to standing behind the simple wooden podium. The small dais had three steps leading up to where they'd stand while the captain read the ceremony. A delicate arch of flowers and white wood arced over the dais. Nemo and Jon would be standing at the foot of the steps, Nemo a little off to the side while Jon would be directly in front of them. Waiting as patiently as she could, the captain instead inspects the fluctuating auras about her. Jon's was especially amusing. Smiling lightly, the captain turns to look at what has captured everyone's interest. It was, of course, the bride. She was beautiful, the captain couldn't deny that by any means. The young half demon definitely outshone the rest of them today. She took a moment to admire Anlu as well, and wondered just how her appearance was affecting her demon escort. A wicked grin flashed across her face only a moment, seeing the plans laid in place there as well. The captain adored a good wedding after all. Tearing her gaze away from Mori, who definitely fit the bill of a 'blushing bride', she glances at Yata first. He looked like a proud father, and the captain can't help but grin again. Everything looked perfect on that end, so now she turns to inspect her own. Jon seemed to be struggling with calming down, which worried her only slightly. They all knew he wouldn't screw this up, there was too much at stake. So instead she shifts her gaze yet again, this time settling on Nemo. She raised an eyebrow at him in question, checking for the rings.

Anlu and Puck made it to the steps where Anlu would take her place to the side of Mori, as Nemo did for Jon. Yes, a worthwhile sacrifice... It was then time for Yata to give Mori to Jon, and then the Captain would begin. ANlu figured Neciel might show off a bit, but that was fine. Mori might find that as bringing attention away from her, though, they all knew it would bounbce right back. I wonder who will catch the bouquet and garter. It would be funny if the Captain and Nemo did... That would be an interesting sight, indeed. Especially when the garter would have to be put on the girl who caught the bouquet. If only she could see the future...

Smiling shyly at the troll at his compliments, she nodded her head in understanding. Mori appreciated his vote in confidence in her. She was picking up Jon’s response to her, and it kept her flush firmly in place. His reaction made her own embarrassment quite worth it. A part of her felt instantly soothed, and she took the last few steps to the altar with a confidence she normally didn’t feel. Looking up at Yata, she stood on the balls of her feet to make it easier to touch his cheek. “Thank you,” she murmured to him, wanting to show her gratitude to him for doing this for her. Rocking back on her heels, she looked to Jon and smiled, unable to contain her joy. She had thought she was going to be alone for the rest of her life. That smile stayed on her face as she handed her bouquet to Anlu to hold throughout the ceremony and took her place, ready to hold hands with Jon and look to the captain. Hoping the captain would take the attention off her for a little while…
Puck snickered, patting Anlu’s hand before he left for his spot off to the side, serving as a witness for his clan and nothing more. I have heard of this human tradition, he admitted, though I have never seen it or participated in it. I know that whoever catches them, they are the next to be wed. Is there more to it than I know? He didn’t exactly like admitting that he only had vaguely knowledge of marriage traditions. However, he did have input on another area. Trust me, the future can be complex. You don’t want to be able to see it. You see all the possibilities, rather than anything set….

Jon took his brides small hands into his with a smile. He couldn't believe this was actually happening. It was all like some sort of dream that didn't feel quite so real. It was as if in the morning he would wake up and still be in that dessert cave from all those years ago and none of this would ever have happened. Crap this meant that he had something to thank Ramses for. Oh well this was far better than he had ever expected things to turn out. The Dawn didn't seem like such a punishment anymore. In fact it seemed to be more of a paradise somewhere where he wanted to spend the rest of his life. Forget the sea, forget retirement, he was a strider and he didn't want anything more than that, so long as he got to spend that time with Mori. Her skin was soft and smooth beneath his fingers, radiating that unnatural heat of hers. He felt his stomach settle and his heart slow in it's beat as his eyes met hers, He was lost in them as they calmed him. He was more ready than ever to make her his till the end of time.

{I found some samples of various reading parts for a Christian wedding, and picked the one most suited. Hope it doesn't offend anyone, but as I don't know how any other ceremonies work, we're using this one. xD I'll have the captain actually say the 'Charge'. The 'Pledge' will come next, but I'm not sure if you guys wanted to do vows. xD}
Watching as the two lovebirds joined hands at the foot of the dais, the captain's expression softens. Clearing her throat gently, she waits for the attention that had been centered on the two of them to settle on her. She enjoyed being the center of attention, but that wasn't what drove her to draw the eyes of the small crowd. This was the main ceremony, and it was important that everyone, especially the two main attractions, knew what was going on. "Jon and Mori, the covenant which you are about to make with each other is meant to be a beautiful and sacred expression of your love for each other." she pauses, looking each in the eye. Her happy expression stiffened a little with a serious air, though one could tell she was still overjoyed. "As you pledge your vows to each other, and as you commit your lives to each other, we ask that you do so in all seriousness, and yet with a deep sense of joy; with the deep conviction that you are committing yourselves to a dynamic growing relationship of trust, mutual support, and caring love." she pauses a few moments, giving it a sort of dramatic effect. "Jon, will you have Mori to be your wife, to live together as friend and mate? Will you love her as a person, respect her as an equal, sharing joy as well as sorrow, triumph as well as defeat. And keep her beside you as long as you both shall live?"

Jon squeezed Mori's hands firmly, "I do" The two words he had been waiting for so long to state formed so easily on his lips with ao much weight. Now it all rested on Mori. Their life, their future, all of it joined together from this moment on. He was excited and frightened all at the same time. There was a certain courage in him that knew everything was going to be alright. That no matter what happened she would always be there for him and he would be there for her. This was the beginning of something beautiful.

Smiling faintly at his response, the captain turns slightly so that her eyes now rest on Mori. "And Mori, will you have Jon to be your husband, to live together as friend and mate? Will you love him as a person, respect him as an equal, sharing joy as well as sorrow, triumph as well as defeat. And keep him beside you as long as you both shall live?"" she asks, the air growing tense. She casts a swift glance to Nemo, checking to see if he was ready with the rings when the answer was given. Though there was always a chance she would respond negatively, but that chance was slight. She hadn't worried about Mori getting cold feet, though she hoped for the girl's sake that the words didn't come out jumbled in her embarassment at being the center of attention yet again.

Anlu watched as everyone got into position. Well, not everyone who catches them is wed next, but that's how the saying goes. But, yes, there is more... to it. The one who catches the garter... he has to put the garter onto the girl that catches the bouquet... I think the tradition for that one is however many inches past the knee he puts it up her leg... that's how many years of good luck the current brode and groom will have. She didn't want to imagine herself catching the bouquet, though that chance was near impossible anyway. She wouldn't see the thing comming at her even if she was given warning.
You see the future? Though her face showed she was watching the others, her mind wondered about seeing too many possibilities. Or you know someone who does? Sadlt, that was all she could ask mentally as the Captain started with the vows. Anlu had to have her full attention on the wedding now. She actually smiled when Jon said his "I do." Now it was Mori's turn. Then the two would finally be together and out of reach of those trying to pry them apart. Today was a good day.

(I vote no vows. I don’t know what I’d even write…)
Mori smiled as Jon squeezed her hands, finally relaxing as the captain took some of the attention off of her, even if it was only for a little while. It was so hard to believe this was happening. She had been so sure it never would, that she was meant to be alone. Of course, Jon had had similar thoughts. Perhaps that’s why they had been brought together… Who better to appreciate a chance like this than two who never thought to have it? Tears of relief and gratitude that she refused to let fall made her eyes bright, though the smile on her face made it clear she wasn’t near crying from sadness. A weight lifted over her shoulders when he didn’t respond to the captain negatively. Flushing slightly when she was once again the object of everyone’s attention, she answered softly but sincerely, “I do.”
Puck’s lips twitched as he tried to think of the best way to answer that, even as he worked to make sure the memory of this event was unclouded by his own feelings and emotions in one corner of his mind for his mother to extract later for the records. Apparently, seeing all the possible futures is what drove Great-Aunt Ophelia absolutely batty. That is why talking to her will get you about seven different, convoluted answers, if she answers at all. He decided to cease communications for the moment. Anytime Great-Aunt Ophelia came up, they usually got ugly. And the idea of someone slipping a garter up Anlu's leg had him feeling almost angry...
And after all, this wasn’t about the Xerian clan or him and Anlu at the moment. Instead, he smiled as his aunt and his new uncle said their “I do’s”. The two certainly suited each other, similar in some ways but complete opposites in others. It was a good match, even his father wouldn’t be able to argue that after seeing the record.

{You know what makes this so great? There's a complete outline of a Christian Wedding ceremony, which is what this is based off, considering the captain's booky-thing is from the Holy City. She's skipping the bits about candles and prayer, though. Oh, how I love cheating.}
The captain smiled as the two made their vow, and now turned her gaze on Nemo. Staring at him, she hoped he'd get her message to step forward and hand over the rings. "The exchanging of the rings expresses the promise of faithfulness to each other. The unending circle of the ring is a symbol of eternity." she pauses, breaking her stare at Nemo to glance at the couple to make sure they knew she was speaking to them more than the rest of the gathering. "The wedding ring is the outward expression of the inward bond, as two hearts unite as one, promising to love each other with fidelity for all eternity. Wearing of the wedding bands throughout the lifetime will tell all others of their commitment to be faithful." So don't take them off. One wouldn't need to be a mind reader to get the hint in her voice. When Nemo finally stepped forward with the rings, he would hand them to the opposite half of the couple. The point of this part of the ceremony was another confirmation, this one a promise of faithfulness to the other as they accepted their own ring. After this would come the Prouncement, and then the ever popular kiss. She was still debating with the Presentation, as it seemed much more suited for a bigger wedding. But after all this ceremonial stuff, the real fun would begin. For the reception was drawing closer, and the captain was feeling the urge for alcohol after all this lovey-dovery stuff.
