He did his best to ignore Crow's stare, while at the same time keeping an eye on her.

"You guys go ahead. Harbor is too bright and open for me." The house lined streets of Middling was one thing, but right in the open in Harbor? He just didn't feel right without something over his head.

Crow sighed. "I ain' gonna kill ya now, you figured things out..." She finally broke her stare away, and broke into a smile. "I didn't want Fish to think I was a ninny. I don't like him much."

She still wanted a fight with Jubs once he was older, though. She admitted that only to herself and Morrigan.

"So... See you later, I guess. If you have any issues with people, come let me know. I may not like you, but we players keep each other safe from others, 'kay?"

With her cloak tightened back around her, Crow bent down and wiggled through the hole, her wings keeping her stuck for a moment before she finally fell through.

"YIKES WHY THE HELL IS IT SO DAMNING BRIGHT OUT HERE?!" The teen cried out as she was blinded by the sudden sunlight. She tossed her hand above her forehead and grumbled. "Last time I wandered aroun' here it was nighttime. Now I see why I did that."

Writ didn't like the smell of the harbor too much. The smell of fish and polluted sea didn't agree with his senses.

He sneezed, and his ears went straight up, "Ah, yeah, it's great fish... Very...." Another sneeze. "Cool."

The scents of the harbor didn't go away.

Fish's spirits sank a little bit. "You guys don't like it," he said, frowning. After fretting about it for about thirty seconds, he perked back up. "I should get going. See you guys later."

And with that, he slung his trident over his shoulder and strode off down the road towards the morning sunlight.

From back in Downers, Jubs watched the others go into a world he would never belong in. "If you guys need any help in Downers again..." It seemed like he was going to leave it at that, but he remembered what Fish said about information. "...it'll cost you something."

At that he turned and ran though the house, and was gone in moments. He had a rat to prepare for dinner.

"Reehh!? What the..." Crow stammered about her words as she kept her hand above her eyes, blocking out the sun's bright glare. Odd, she grew up on Border East, where the sun burns just as bright, but two years on the streets and along the downers and suddenly she was a bat?

"Bloody hell. Fish takes off, Jubs takes off to... Is he gonna actually eat that rat, an I'm here in the harbor and I don't even remember why the hell I came."

She grumbled about before reaching to her pocket, retrieving a small flask, and taking a sip of water. "Want some?" She offered the flask to Writ, her arm outstretched.

"Hellsbells the sun's gonna fry me lika' egg under this coat." Crow continued to grumble as she glanced about the harbor.

"Sur-ACHOO!" Writ sneezed again. His nose really didn't like the Harbor. He sniffled and took the flask, waterfalling it into his mouth. The teen swallowed, and sneezed again a bit after. Writ handed the bottle back to Crow,

"I don' like the harbor too much... It smells..." His hand went over his nose.

"Fish said to come over here I think." Writ said, starting to walk around, "I could see why he'd like it, any kid with gills would."

Crow snarled, he didn't have to go and empty the damn flask. She growled suddenly, her eyes glaring much darker than before when she was sizing up Jubs like a wolf about to take on another wolf for impeding on its ground.

Betwixt the heat, the whole incident with the idiot kid Jubs, the sparklies, and to finish it off he emptied her last flask of water for the day, all of the young teen's buttons had been pushed, and now all that was left for the reaction that had been long delayed.

Crow clinched her talons inward, trying her best not to lose her temper entirely. Writ was her friend, or at least she thought, and you don't do that to friends.

Even if your friends are being ridiculously stupid and rude. Her talons dug into her hand, piercing the skin. That seemed to be the final thing--physical pain. In an instant, Crow had slammed down her hoof for Writ's total attention, and bared her fangs.

"What the hell was up with the sparkles?! Are you trying to make me look like a bitchy little ninny!? For hell's sake it was FISH we were with, he's no idiot like... Like... OH! And that Jubs kid? What the hell did you tell him 'cause I don't trust the rat chewer no farther than I can throw him!"

"Wha- Hey!" Writ jumped, this was a change of pace.

"It's not like I knew anything about him, I just talked to him today!" He said, defending himself this time, "And besides, you started the whole sparkly thing..."

He rubbed his arm a little bit.

"I started it? I didn't do a thing aside from bump your hip!"

Crow stood firm, still essentially growling at Writ.

"Look, Coyote made me do it, okay?" That was sorta true.

Writ started walking down the harbor backwards, still looking at Crow, "Didn't you look tough enough threatening a new kid who didn't know any better?"

Oh, that stung. Writ surprised himself once again.

Crow growled, and felt very much like launching forward just to watch Writ fall on his a**. She barely managed to restrain herself.

"He was frackin' asking for it!" she barked, her voice growing increasingly louder. "If he's lived in the downers as long as he appears to have been, that's just common logic that you don't talk about blood around someone much larger than you, 'cause half the time they wanna pummel ya!"

She wasn't backing down anytime soon, that was for sure. Even if Morrigan had asked her originally to hip-bump Writ, and flirt with him, Crow wanted to in the first place.

"Well Morrigan told me to flirt with you, but I had a choice! And I chose to because I like you, damnit!" Crow's voice jumped up higher, and small droplets had formed in the corners of her eyes. 'Don't cry, don't cry...'

Writ stopped. Wait, she liked him? His heart jumped for a moment. Ahh, only as a friend, right? he couldn't tell from that. Why did "Like" have so many meanings?

Told you it was Morrigan. Coyote whispered, his voice bouncing in glee, Toldyoutoldyoutoldyou...

Writ ignored him.

"So if your god told you to do it" He tried to reason, keeping himself from cracking again, "Doesn't that mean she's the one to blame?"

Crow's chest pulled inward, her arms curled in and so did her talons. Tears flowed from her eyes and down her cheeks. "BLAME?!" She said so loudly that a few people actually stopped. "Tooo....blamee!" Her voice strained even moreso, her voice sounded close to actually cracking.

One step, then another, she headed backwards away from him. She tried to keep her hood over her head to shield her tears away from him, but it was quite pointless. She was crying like she hadn't in years, and over a boy.

It's not so easy, is it? Morrigan said to her. Do what you need to, my dear, I won't bother you for now. The goddess sighed, and left Crow's mind. Unfortunately that didn't help in the least.

Writ was about to go after her when he felt a cold hand around his neck.

Let her be. Coyote said.

The kid strained against the invisible collar, but it kept him back.

You just want me to just stand there and watch my friend cry like that?! Writ yelled, pulling at his neck.

You're making things worse. If this girl does like you, keep away. Coyote released his grip, but it was too late to catch up with Crow.

The god went into his own realm. Between his fingers were two wooden figures. One little bird head and one little Coyote head.

"For the best." He said to himself, looking at the dog headed playing piece, "Don't want another accident again, now do we?"
