He heard her walk away from the door and he looked over his shoulder. He peered in to watch her as he would normally, though this time he didn't feel that warm feeling. He felt horrible. He had thought that just coming over and apologizing would make things better it seemed it hadn't changed a thing. He leaned on the door frame and continued to stare at her.

Reaching over to the dial, Valentine turned up the music, finding it on another country song That's as Close as I'll Get to Loving You. Head dropping, hanging over the edge of the hammock, she set the petal down and stared at it. Reaching down she traced the letters on it. The red had stained and bled slightly into the soft veins of the white. Why did he have to show up? Be nice? He shouldn't have said he liked her. Shouldn't have held her when they danced. Shouldn't have made her laugh. Tears fell onto the rose petal. Guess I'm not done crying yet....

He shook his head watching the crystal drops fall upon the rose petal he had taken for himself to treasure. his hand gripped the doorframe and his arm slowly pushed him away. He soon found himself pacing back and forth outside the door. Should he go in and try to make things better? or should he head back and just let her be? What one would be best to do? He thought on this for a few minutes and came to the decision that if he went in he would most likely just mess up again and make things worse. Though he hesitated he soon began to head back down.

Valentine stayed where she was unaware of the fact she had been watched. Tears continued to stream down her face in a fresh new wave. She had been trying very hard to create walls but it was so difficult with pain so fresh. Knowing the impossibility of the whole mess didn't make it any better, only made it hurt more.
Below the counter, Bliss sat, stroking the soft fur on Tydryk's head. She had been watching carefully from where she was. Though she couldn't hear anything that went on and they were too far away for her to see perfectly, she could tell that Toshiro was leaving. The music had gone to being loud once more, which meant that nothing had been resolved if Valentine had gone back to the way she was before.

Toshiro made his way to the front door on his own without saying goodbye. He paused there but did not turn around before he slithered his way out onto the path outside.

Something within him seemed to stab at him. His head tilted back and looked to the sky, it was really late... Dai should resting just fine. He looked back to the door behind him and headed back inside. He should at least wait till morning to head back. He wandered around, the place was quite unfamiliar but he felt as if he had been here before, and not just earlier. He looked up to Bliss and her companion, it reminded him of Namir. Namir should be fine now that he wasn't an egg. His tail continued to move under him propelling him back along the path he had taken once already. Perhaps it was his desire to see her again but he soon found himself at her door once again peering in.

She had moved from where she had been before. Curled up in the hammock, her wings folded in close to her. The music was still blasting, this time Owner of a Loney Heart streamed from the earpeice of the mp3 player. Valentine wasn't really moving except for the slight tremble and silent tears that were beginning to dry as she was getting tired. In her arms was the petal, holding it instead of the stuffed animal she had cluthed earlier in the evening.

He was feeling more drowsy as he wandered into the room. He stood where she lay and watched her. Half asleep and still standing there he lay his hand on her back and began to rub it softly, something he greatly enjoyed when someone did it for him.

At the first touch, Valentine flinched, curling up tighter into a ball. After a second she relaxed with a gentle sigh of relief, loosening her grip on the petal just a bit. However, she remained slowly drifting off towards sleep that would hopefully be dreamless from her sadness.

He continued to run his hand along her back untill his own sleepiness consumed him. He slowly lowered himself onto the floor and coiled up as his eye lids shut tightly.

When an hour passed and there seemed to be no change from the outside, Bliss got up from where she sat with Tydryk. She was sure nothing was wrong, but she had to make sure. Climbing easily up the ladder she slowly made her way into Valentine's room. What she saw made her smile a little. Quietly stepping into the room she turned the dial on the music, lowering to a decent volume that wouldn't disturb anyone without turning it off. She had learned quickly that turning it off often ended with Valentine snapping back awake, lowering the volume seemed to have no effect. Bliss didn't know how Toshiro would react, but Valentine was her main worry.
Grabbing a couple of makeshift blankets and tossed one around Valentine and the other onto Toshiro before she slipped out of the room to leave them both to rest from their night. At last she could slip herself into bed. Using Tydryk as a ride across the lobby she found her own place to sleep.

The change in volume did not disturb Toshiro in the slightest bit, nor the blanket being layed on him. He slept quite peaceful though the evening had been a bit rough.

When morning's light came peeking into Valentine's room, she whimpered a little in her sleep. Grabbing the blanket her sister had draped over her she pulled it over her head and proceeded to remain curled up, determined not to realize that another day had come without her permission while she was feeling blue.
Outside Bliss was already moving around. Her guardian had surprisingly made breakfast. The pancakes smelled delicious and with Tydryk's help she was able to sit on the counter and enjoy them from high up instead of on the floor. She had peeked in earlier and noticed neither Toshiro or Valentine had woken yet and so had resumed her daily routines keeping an eye out for when one would emerge or when sounds would come out from that birdhouse.

Toshiro not used to such light shining in on him when morning had arrived, grumbled a bit. He tried his best to keep the light out of his eyes by pulling the blanket over his head. Eventually he began to wonder where the blanket had come from once he was feeling more awake. He sat up and squinted a bit looking around the room recalling what had happened the evening before. His hand went through and ruffled his already messy hair. "hmm.."

Valentine remained curled up though the sound of movement and the sound of someone that was out of the ordinary had her waking up from her sleep. Rolling over she decided she probably didn't want to know. Or it was just her imagination. Either way she didn't want to leave the hammock, not even if the world was crashing down. If it was possible to feel worse, then she did, or close to it. Her head hurt and her stomach felt like acid was sitting in it, there was also an emptiness in her chest that felt cold when she breathed.
