Yes. Careful seemed to be a good word for now, there seemed to be more to it, much more, but he would hate to make assumptions. Still, he couldn't help but wonder if it was indeed that careful way of hers or something else that made her so easy to talk to. Elias had found himself in a total strangers kitchen, chatting away on some of the most difficult topics which had plagued him in recent months, like they were nothing. He'd found himself talking to Kat more on his peculiar situation than he had with his best friend back at home of his family... and hell, he didn't even know if Kat was some alias she was using, none the less, and to his own surprise Elias didn't find himself all too worried. Noticing something about the way she looked at him the pale haired male could only assume he had made a slip up on some fact which would only lead to further questioning at a later date. "Fascinating?" He snorted softly, managing to keep down a light chuckle which still managed to send soft reverberations through his chest "I've been called a lot of F-words, but fascinating is a first" he mused, shaking his head a little thinking back on a few, there was the obvious Freak, or 'fruit cake', then there was the less common fainéant, and footling, hell he'd even been called a 'floosie', and boy was there a story behind that, but fascinating? He just couldn't comprehend the thought. Trudging after her to the kitchen Elias sided against standing there awkwardly and lent against the counter where he hoped he would remain out of the way. The male only stood there a moment after she had asked he question, blinking a moment before she elaborated on the matter before he simply shook his head and offered a light "Nope"

WantedKat set another glance over to Elias, tempted to ask what the other F-words could be but it was another question for later she would save. "There is always a first for everything." She herself had been called many things in her life, some pleasant and others harder to swallow but she didn't think anyone had ever called her careful before. Most people put her with words such as reckless and clumsy. But careful was indeed a new one for her. "Nevertheless I still think you are fascinating. Which is a lot since I tend not to waste time with people." The words probably made her sound like an introvert. Maybe she was in a way but it was also that she just didn't care for other people as much as she used to. At least not strangers. Being social was only a distraction and a danger now anyway.
Kat nodded at his 'nope', gazing at the contents of her trudge as she tried to figure out what she could make, biting her lip softly. It felt like she had been under some sort of pressure to try and cook something that would somehow impress Elias. It was ridiculous and the female grew frustrated with herself and grabbed the first thing her hands landed on. After all she wasn't there to impress. She blinked at the contents she had grabbed, it was a roll of premade dough that she couldn't remember buying. "Is there anything you don't like on your pizza?" she asked, glancing once more at the male. She set the dough on the counter, pulling out other products to go with the pizza. Things such as cheese and vegatables like broccoli, mushrooms, and a sweet green pepper. She left the trudge and went to the pantry, taking out a jar of sauce for the pizza. Another item she didn't remember buying. With all the ingredients out, Kat had begun to move faster afterwards, taking out a circular pan to roll the dough on, and then turning to her vegetables. She took out a knife from the counter drawer and on a cutting board she started to chop away. Her fingers moved quickly as she chopped with the speed of a pro. It didn't take much thought to know that she had been cooking the majority of her life. Even with one of her eyes covered up by that dreadful patch she still managed to slice away without taking a finger off.

Elias blinked slightly, not really thinking to process the words which came out of his mouth "Unless that first isn't really a first, but a second or third and you just don't know it. Then, if you have no previous knowledge of the matter does that third or fourth still count as a first? Then, per say, that second or third, or even the original first comes back, does that no count as a first or a second? OR is everything just a reoccurring trail of false firs-...." trailing off the pale male blinked slowly once more upon realizing his little spiral. It wouldn't be a false presumption that this was not the first time he had though upon the like matter, but could one blame him? A lot of things could happen in two years, it was only natural to wonder how much of his life he had missed, right? "Sorry.." he finally spoke up after a rather long silence on his part. Still he didn't have long to dwell upon his apology when she re-enforced the idea that she found him fascinating, mentioning how she didn't 'waste he time with people'. "And you shouldn't." he agreed calmly "If you view it as wasting time than not only does that count to your time but theirs as well, it's only polite. Seeing as I'm still here i may as well presume i'm not wasting your time... then with that said i guess i have no further right to question your opinion of me being 'fascinating'" he finished only to frown a moment later. Since when did he talk this much? It wasn't normal... hell his piss poor social skills had resulted in people leaving the dinner he worked at on more than one occasion, and yet here he was spilling out the word vomit which was the inner workings of his mind... Should he apologize? He ultimately decided against it, Kat had just told him she didn't waste time with people, so he would trust her to tell him if he was wasting her time.
Cool blue eyes watched the female parade about the kitchen, retrieving countless ingredients on her way, ingredients which allowed him to slowly piece together what she was making before it was vocalized. Taking a moment to think on he subconsciously shifted away from the female as she began chopping away, his form visually stiffening at the sound as he inched further and further from the pointed object "Anchovies and... no that's about it" he said decidedly. No, it wasn't that he doubted the girls ability to use the cooking implement, hell he found it almost miraculous the speed at which she diced, knowing he very well would have sliced something other than the vegetables by now, but still there were belling going off in the far confines of his mind, simply warning him that bad things happened around knives,

WantedKat couldn't help but pause herself to look up at him as he went on with his drawl of how first things might not actually be first. She stared up at him in confusion and a small bit of curiosity to ask what exactly what was going on in his mind. But she had a good guess of where those words were coming from. He had to be talking about the two years that had been stripped from his life right? The things he couldn't remember probably, and she felt guilty almost for sending him down that path of thought. To think that maybe someone had called him fascinating before, someone who had found him fascinating enough to do something to him... something that changed his appearance and his whole life. What could that something be? Why was it necessary for him to forget those two years? What had happened to this male standing next to her? The questions were endless but what bugged her the most was that she didn't know if she would ever get her answers. The female had been pulled from her mind when he apologized and she shook her head. "It's fine." It was fine. She didn't mind his droning on and on about whether a first is actually a first, despite how someone else would of started to be annoyed by it soon. She couldn't help but feel like he was almost insulting her with the way he phrased his words. About how it was polite to not waste their time in return. It felt like a jab at her whether he meant it or not. A jab for keeping herself closed up from the rest of the world. But he was guilty of that crime too wasn't he? Kat merely nodded, letting that conversation drop right there as she turned her attention back to her task.
The female hadn't missed the way he subconsciously stepped away as she pulled out the knife and began her speed cutting. Though she couldn't help but wonder whether or not he had some sort of fear towards knives maybe? It was another question she wanted to ask but would save for later, she needed her concentration right then. Her nose wrinkled at the thought of anchovies, she had never tried them before but just the name was distasteful enough to make her turn away in disgust. "You must be an easy person to please." she said softly, referring to the fact that he didn't need something specific on his pizza. He must not be a picky eater, unlike her who had limits to what she would and wouldn't eat. Kat had almost finished her pepper completely cut up when she felt something on her. A hand. It gently ran through her black as night hair, and soon an arm had slipped around her waist but than hand never left her head, moving to cup her chin gently, softly. The touch was sweet but soon fingers dug into her skin and a voice hissed into her ear. 'You better hurry up, I'm not a patient man...' The voice wasn't real, she knew this, but it felt real as it whispered into her ear. That touch, that vile touch that disgusted her but would forever be engraved into her skin wasn't real either, but that didn't stop her body from freezing up and tensing. 'I would hate for you to lose both of your beautiful blue eyes...' Filled with a caring tone that was fake because the venom could be heard clearly from deep in the threat. Kat gasped and with a slip of her wrist sliced straight into her index finger. The cut laid deep though not bad enough to need hospital treatment. The blood came rushing to the surface, staining the knife as well as the pepper. Her hand dropped the pointed object with a clatter and she took a step back. The hands were gone, along with that voice, but the fear hadn't left her. The fear and panic stood clear as day on her face, something had shaken her straight to her core.

Really need to work on that thinking aloud thing... Elias mentally scolded himself for letting himself continually slip up, he wasn't used to these sorts of thoughts arising around others, mostly because he wasn't often around other people and when he was he certainly didn't tell his story. Too heavy... a downer there were countless synonyms which people threw at him after those, and yet... he was still here, she was still listening and asking questions, it was almost nice when he got past the overwhelming sense of worry that he would in some way offend her. A worry which seemed to be justified, or so he gathered by some change in her expression and the fact that that conversation had come to an abrupt end, not that he minded. "Hn? Well... I guess so." Well, there certainly was a reason for his lack of being a picky eater, but he preferred to keep that small fact to himself. Regardless, he didn't dwell long upon the matter at hand, no his attention was easily pulled to the blade Kat wielded so skillfully. She was quick... efficient, and no matter how much he tried to jar himself from the mild discomfort the sound the blade made at it repeatedly came into contact with the cutting board Elias found himself loosing a futile fight. Inching but a few steps farther the pale haired male finally found himself content with the distance between himself and the blade just in time for all his plans to casually observe from the sideline came crashing down with the clatter of a knife.
Blood That was the first thing that the male had taken note of, after the blade had dropped, and for a fraction of a second Elias didn't know where he was, or who he was for that matter, all he felt sure of in that instant was a predatory feeling and blood. Kat's kitchen was but a setting, and said female was injured. His mind was blank as that predatory part willed him to take the first step... and that was as far as he got in that mindset. After that initial step he saw her face, and he recognized that look, that feeling of panic, and the previously blank mind was a whirl. She's hurt. Is she okay? Of course not, look at her! Oh god, does she suffer from hemophobia? This entire shift in his being happened all in about the span of three seconds after the knife dropped before, now in a more friendly mindset, he made his way to her side. Carefully nudging the blade away with his shoe Elias moved slowly a deliberately, taking hold of her injured hand, keeping pressure at the base of her fingers while he moved to hold it up and away from her direct line of sight "Kat" he spoke low "Kat, look at me"

WantedQuickly Kat's mind had begun to shut itself off at the sight of the blood. Her mind shutting off like the lights in a warehouse, each set shutting off one after another until the last set of lights. The set of lights that refused to flicker off for her. She stood paralyzed by the sight of blood on her hands, her blue eye wide unable to blink or glance away. The blood had shook her more than the the voice had, the feeling of that touch. None of it had could compare to the sight of blood. The female had a high tolerance for things such as blood and gore, but she had earned that tolerance through experience. Now all those experiences were rushing back, that light that had refuse to leave let those images back to her. It was as if someone had pressed fast forward, the images flying through her mind. It was a slaughter house. The terrified look on peoples faces, the dull look their eyes got as their lives slipped away. The smiles of their tormentors. But more than anything else there was the blood. The way it painted the walls that crimson red. The smell of it thick in the air. Everyone was dying... everyone was-
"Kat." The voice yanked her away from the scenes in her mind, bringing everything back into focus. She blinked, her vision coming into focus she looked up at Elias but beyond that she didn't know what to do. Slowly the lights started coming back on and she became more aware of things, like the stinging pain she had in her finger and the feeling of Elias pressing in her finger to keep the blood flow low. Slowly she started to gain control of herself again. "I'm fine." The words were barely audible. Kat cleared her throat and tried again. "I'm fine... I-I must not have been paying attention o-or something." Her non bleeding hand brushed the hair from her eyes and it was then that she noticed her whole body was shaking. She clenched her fist to try and stop it, keeping her eye focused entirely on Elias, afraid of what would happen if she spotted the blood again.

Elias didn't know which was worse, his feeling of helplessness in this situation or the look on her face. It was a close tie, or so it seemed. He knew what that expression, that doe eyed fear, meant, something far beyond this simple situation, something he didn't know was tormenting her, that was obvious. What he was almost painfully aware of was the fact that he didn't know how to get her to come back, hell he didn't even know if there was any point of calling out to her. What if that didn't snap her out of it? What was he to do then? How would she react to him? Recalling the current proximity of certain pointed objects the male couldn't help but hold his breath, waiting to see how she would react all the while trying to force away all of the possibilities.
Then, like a gift from god, she blinked and looked at him, it seemed like the lights were coming back on, someone was back home. Releasing his breath in a soft sigh Elias was sure to keep her hand from the direct line of sight, just to avoid a relapse. Fine? He heard the word, so soft, fragile... he doubted she was 'just fine', but he wouldn't press, not after she spoke again, more sure. "Well... how about we get this cleaned up before you go deciding you're fine" he said referring to her hand, with that amount of blood he wasn't sure if stitches would be needed, and it would need to be cleaned up before that could be seen. "..Or something, hn..." he hummed softly, as he shifted his gaze to her hand, something which made him aware of certain facts. She was shaking. A frown twitched at his lips as he mentally tried to figure where to go from there, but before he could think of much he already found himself acting. Clearing a spot on the counter by the sink Elias paused, trying to figure out how to get here up there without letting go of her injured hand, only one way, but he wasn't sure how fond she would be of the idea after the incident, regardless "Bear with me for a moment" was all the warning he gave before her free arm twined around her waist and he pulled her rather easily up to the counter next to the sink so at least any dripping blood would fall into the basin... now for "Towels and bandages?" he prodded softly, paper towels would work but he was still struck with the fact he knew were nothing was for this type of situation.

WantedKat merely nodded to his words, her focus remaining on Elias entirely, not just because she was afraid of relapsing from the sight of the blood but because focusing on something kept the thoughts out of her head. She hoped he didn't mind her staring, but she couldn't find anything else to look at and she was afraid too. Her gaze traced out the details of his face, the shape of his lips, the way his hair fell into his face, how his hair shined slightly when the sunlight hit it. The tattoo that was underneath his eye. But she focused more on his eyes than anything, they seemed to be so many different shades of blue all at once but still over all the same blue. She had never seen anything like it, and she found herself so focused on it that she gasped slightly when he suddenly picked her up, not even hearing his warning. Kat settled on the counter top, still not turning in the direction of her bleeding figure, though she could hear it dripping into the sink. It took the female longer than she expected to remember where she kept things in her house. "Um... there is a first aid kit under the sink in the bathroom... the bathroom is... down the hall, first door to the right. There is a closet at the end of the hall, the towels are in there." she instructed for him, almost embarrassed by the way she couldn't remember her own house's layout.

Focus. Keep calm. Elias had to remind himself of those two matters, it wouldn't do any good to get nervous or panicky, and with that in mind he managed to properly examine the wound. Running some lukewarm water he rinsed away a bit of the blood to get a better look at the nick, and while he was focused upon the task at hand he was well aware of her eyes on him, he could feel her gaze examining him, but it didn't bother him, he was simply glad she had seemed to calm down enough. The slice didn't appear to go deep, and it didn't seem to be bleeding too bad, that was good. Pretending not to notice her rather extended pause he waited to here where things were kept before shifting his gaze from her hand to her eyes "Alright. I'll be right back, don't even think about getting up" he warned, his tone gave away it was but an empty threat, but there was always that natural intensity to his gaze. With that said he turned and headed off down the hall. First door on his right was his initial stop, it only taking but a few moments of rooting around beneath the sink to recognize the first aid kit. Snatching that he continued on his journey to grab a rag before returning to the kitchen, spoils of the expedition in hand.

WantedThe female winced as soon as the water hit her figure, but she didn't try to yank it away. She had a high tolerance when it came to pain so it was easy to stay calm and keep her hand steady for Elias as he examined it. Her gaze remaining on him, continuing to go over the features on his face until he had left the room to go and get the supplies that was needed to clean up her wound. It was than that the female struggled to keep herself calm, suddenly the room felt too small and she shifted uncomfortably on the counter trying to focus on something, anything. Anything that would take her mind off her finger, anything that would distract her from her thoughts. She settled on tracing the the pattern on the counter top until she heard footsteps coming. Kat relaxed again, finding it easier to breath now that she wasn't alone. Her eyes fell to the objects in his hand, but only for a moment before she looked back up at Elias. But the female couldn't focus on him like she had before and she ducked her gaze now back to the counter. "I'm sorry for putting you into this situation. I'd bandaged myself up if I wasn't... incapable of it." she muttered, the embarrassment on the whole issue was flooding her now that she allowed herself some room to think. Usual when she was hurt she was fine but it was just what happened before she cut herself that had done that to her. That voice. She hated how it owned her even now. "I usual don't react that way to blood, but I guess it had shocked me so badly or something... I don't know what happened." It was a lie. What else could she say though? She wouldn't tell him what really happened to her. It would be too dangerous to say anything aloud to anyone. She could only hope he would accept the lie willingly.

Returning to the kitchen Elias had formed a plan of action to tackle this matter, mainly keeping up a simple conversation to provide a distraction while he tended to the cut, however, upon his return the pale haired male couldn't help but notice something different. Maybe it was just his imagination, but something felt different than it had before, and noticing Kat avert her gaze it almost seemed to prove his paranoid thoughts true. Moving back to his previous position before her he set down the towel and first aid kit, quickly setting to work. "It's quite alright" he hummed, thumbing through the first aide kit, taking mental note of what was there, before simply grabbing a small swatch of gauze and holding it to the injury, and applying pressure once more. "It's not troubling in the slightest, in fact it's almost nice to b of use... though it would have likely been a bit better under separate circumstances" he joked softly, though he was being honest, when was the last time he was able to help someone like this or had someone help him, there was his job sure but he got paid to do it all, no, it was nice to be of use and not a tool of convenience, and he could only hope if the situation were flipped the favor would be returned. Removing the gauze he noticed the bleeding had subsided substantially before moving onto the next step, disinfecting. "This will sting a bit" he warned softly before returning to their normal conversation "You don't need to explain yourself. Accidents happen, people get caught off guard and react. I've been there, and trust me it wasn't a pretty sight" a slight smile twitched at his lips at the memory, it wasn't a lie, Elias had his share of freak outs, over smaller things than slicing his own finger, but the particular incident he had in mind was a little heart warming. With the disinfecting finished all that was left was to wrap it up snugly with a bandage

WantedQuietly she watched as he looked through the first aid kit. Kat herself was unsure of what was in there, she had bought it but never had a need to use it. Whenever she had hurt herself it was always at work, where Rose was ready to patch her up or even drive her to the hospital depending on the damage. So the first aid kit had sat under her sink unneeded, waiting for its turn and that turn had finally come. Her navy blue gaze shifted away from him as he went to tending her cut now. Though the bleeding had stopped she didn't want to look at it for a while. She looked up at the male when he spoke again andfelt herself slipping with ease back into her attitude before they had even left the couch. It was comforting and she clutched to it because it was the best of anything else. Kat was unsure of how to respond to his manner though, she had grown used to Rose bickering over her. But it was a bit different with Elias still being somewhat of a stranger despite him telling her as much as he had of his life. She would of thought it to be an inconvience with her hurting herself and him having to fix her up. It had taken longer than usual for it to dawn on her what he meant. "It's lonely... isn't it?" The words had slipped from her lips in a whisper before she could catch herself. It was than that the disinfect had hit her wound making her wince. It stung much more than the water did. "Ow." she muttered but other quickly sucked up the pain, before returning to the conversation. Kat had felt relief when he didn't pry but she found that curiosity creeping inside and she couldn't keep her mouth closed for long. "Can I know the story?" she asked, referring to whatever had brought that slight smile to his face, it made her wonder.

And I will learn to love, the skies I'm under

Elias ⒜⒱⒠⒭⒴ Callaghan
"Listen with your ears and your heart... maybe then you'll truly hear"

A lonely speaker in a conversation
xXxXxXxHer words are spinning through his ears again
xXxXxXxXxXxXxThere's nothing wrong with just a taste of what you've paid for

Freezing up a bit at her question Elias looked up from his work, if only a moment to look her in the eyes, trying to discern if it was a serious question, or if he would only make a fool of himself in answering it so. She didn't seem like the type who would do something like that, but as always, there was that nagging uncertainty, still he noticed that flicker of regret for asking. Shifting his gaze back down to her hand he only gave a slight bob of his head "Extremely so... but i can't help the feeling that it is better that way" he spoke softly, speaking on the matter rather simply while a storm was brewing in those ice eyes. Thumbing through the first aid kit once more, this time in search of a simple bandage, Elias froze up a little at her following question, but it lasted no more than half a heart beat. Releasing a soft sigh he plucked up a bandage "I don't see why not" he answered, shredding the poor packaging. "After I got back home lots of things set me off. Car alarms, tree branches scraping against the window when it was windy... loud or sudden noises. My mother was at a total loss of what to do. The emotional high of having a son back after two years gave way to her feeling helpless." He finished bandaging her hand and came to rest a palm on the counter beside her, but beyond that it was obvious the story send certain gears turning in his mind, as even as he spoke of the toll it took on his mother that slight smile still was fighting at the corner of his lips and in his eyes. "She was on pins and needles, all the time... and one day a baseball flew through a window. She just froze up, afraid of what i was going to do..." a slight frown tugged at his features recalling the specifics of certain episodes which had led to a mother being fearful of her own son "I just sat there... shaking and before anything beyond that could happen, my four year old brother, who had shown no recollection of me before hand, came up to me, put his hands on my face" he hummed, moving to cup her cheeks to show her what he meant "Pressed his forehead to mine" he continued, leaning in to comply with the action "and asked me when i was going to take him to the park, because he wanted to catch fireflies." he hummed softly, blinking slightly when he realized the sudden proximity he had found himself in, only to pull away and step back on reflex, feeling he had overstepped the boundaries of story telling "Two days before i disappeared i promised to show him the fireflies... and before that point he put an effort into refusing me as a sibling, he didn't even think i was a person" he finished finally, moving to busy himself with cleaning up a bit of the mess. His little brother didn't think he was a person... but Elias couldn't blame him, his appearance... he didn't look like a normal person.

Natalie Katherine Simon
" You tell me to hold on, but innocence is gone. And what was right is wrong "

I wrestled long with my youth. We tried so hard to live in the truth.
Do not tell me all is fine. When I lose my head, I lose my spine.
I will call you by name. I will share your road.

WantedSeeing him freeze up she bit her lip, wondering how he would react to her words. She hadn't meant for them to slip out the way they had at all and now she regretted it. At least until he spoke she regretted it, Kat understood what he meant with that. Even if it was lonely it was always better than dragging someone else down with you into danger. She couldn't help but stare at him in curiosity, and couldn't help but wonder why he would think that it was dangerous to be around him. Something had happened to him that he couldn't remember sure, but it wasn't dangerous in her eyes. Her situation was dangerous but his didn't seem to be, his was over with. All that was left was the mystery of what happened but she couldn't see him finding answers to it. She didn't mention any of it though, letting him go on with the story that she was curious about.
Kat didn't know the direction the story was going into when he had begun it, like everything he had told her up to that point, she was confused on where it was going until he had finished it so she merely listened. With her finger bandaged she brought it into her other hand for a quick inspection but upon feeling his hand rest next to her she looked up again, her hands dropping into her lap. She felt like that smile he was fighting was important, she had only seen him smile once before she felt like it had to be something important if it made him smile. The female couldn't help but wonder if the story would end badly but when he cupped her face those feelings vanished. She stared at him in surprise by the sudden touch. Honestly it felt nice and warm, she missed the closeness and the closure that the touch gave. When his forehead leaned against her's she couldn't help but freeze, not because she didn't like it but because it was a surprise. It had been so long since someone had been so close to her and she didn't know how to react to it. She had forgotten how to react to it. But before she couldn't figure any of it out he had stepped away, almost apologetically for his actions as if it was a step out of line. Her fingers went up to touch the spot on her cheek where his hand was moments ago, the warmth still there. She almost told him that it was okay, that she didn't mind it when he spoke again.
She immediately shook her head at his words. "You're a person Elias. I know. I've seen people who aren't people...and you're nothing like them." she said, glancing over at him. "You're brother is just a little kid, little kids get scared easily from anything that is different." Kat didn't know why but she felt like his little brother not accepting him right away bothered Elias in one way or another and she felt like she had to help him feel better about.

But hold me first. 'Cuz I'm a hopeless wanderer.

There was always this nagging feeling in the back of his mind, off in some far forgotten corner in the deepest confines, that it wasn't safe to be around people... that something bad was inevitable, but the part that Elias feared most of all was in not knowing if it would be his past coming back to haunt him or if it would be by his own hand. Regardless, he persevered and managed to finish his tale, only to slink away awkwardly once more. Distance was good... yes, it was always safer. In close quarters he often found himself infringing upon others person space, and things only got weird from there, and, as luck would have it history had seemed to repeat itself, but he didn't feel bad about what he had done... no he only dreaded what may come to pass afterword, which in itself was a mild form of a miracle. He'd never been much of one for physical contact be it affectionate, comforting or otherwise, it just seemed strange in his mind.
The story in it's own had a strange effect upon him, bringing back memories, good and bad turned it bittersweet until the moment the bad and worse became overpowering. Heaving a silent sigh he hung his head, trying to shake away the bitterness of it all before turning his gaze upward, observing Kat for any sign of what may come, trying to read if he had crossed some line, as her hand drew upward to the spot his hand been moments earlier he could only assume he had, something made evident by the following sigh.
Of all the possible outcomes he had envisioned Elias had never once thought she would come back to say something like that, a fact made obvious by the mild surprise which spread across his face... surprise which gave way to a pained, almost rueful smile as she continued. A person.... then why did he feel like a monster... but above that what bothered him more was something else "Yes... a child, is easily frightened, new or strange things are misunderstood by their brain, distorted, and turned into monsters... a child i could understand..." No. No. No. This was not a road he wanted to go down, not with her, not with a stranger. He shook his head lightly only to mutter "It's unimportant" hoping to end that conversation there before it could get too much farther than it already had.
