((Alright, I believe we have this down enough that I don't have to bring out the giant club of arbitration. However, I would STILL like to point some things out, and my post shall follow this one.

1. Humans are equipped to take out elementals with a fairly small team, so, even if you ARE more powerful, attacking a city in such an open fashion is STILL going to get you gunned down in a heartbeat. There are a LOT of soldiers in this city.

2. NO ONE is able to bat away another's attack with a simple flick of a finger or wrist. No one is THAT powerful. As such, keep in mind that logical tactics will still work. Also, you should keep in mind people's strengths, and limit the characters in various ways to compensate for said strengths. For example, Vince is likely to best pretty much everyone in straight up contests of magical power, especially in cities or places with an abundance of life, as he draws most of his power from the air. The drawback to this is his inability to shape magic, having to rely on other things and shapes to slowly mold the energy for him, hence his music. (He uses the various sound wavelengths.) He CAN shape it on his own, given enough time and peace, though this takes him much longer than others, maybe even days or weeks. As a result, most of his battle magic is a bolt or other raw form of energy. He's not going to go running around a fight blinding people with flares, or disabling weapons, or other complex things.

3. The main enemy here is, and will be for at least a large portion of the RP, the humans. I don't care if you're still evil, if you ally with them, try to destroy them, whatever. "evil" has it's own agenda, and I don't care personally what you do, just know that you aren't as of right now the main antagonist in this little story, Aldolfo.

4. Human's tech is the kind one would expect in a futuristic post-apocalypse world. They have guns. They have tanks. They have infusions that do weird things to people in concerns to magic. They also have other weird, sci-fi things such as armor that is fully computerized and outfits them in a essentially a giant, high-tech metal shell and makes em hard to kill. At least, some of the higher soldiers have those. Oh, and of course, the whole reason we're fighting them, the Elemental Generators. (I have dubbed them that lol, it sounded good at the time.) Apparently, not only do they want elementals out of the way, but hey, they also provide near limitless power when we zap em a few times and hook em up!

NOTE: All above statements are taken as objectively as possible, and does not favor one side over the other. They have been stated merely in an attempt to ensure the fairness and legitimacy of this role-play. Aldolfo's rampage and obvious destruction shall be ignored this first time, and no one is going to attempt to turn him into swiss cheese, no matter how tasty swiss-styled wolf cheese sounds. Of course, the fight is not much of a problem, but future uses of obvious magic are going to attract attention in a more immediate fashion.

Now then, I am about to pull an extremely evil move with the chopper I spotted a few days ago, which will by now have arrived in the city, with Bard shortly behind. Things should get a little interesting, at least.))

The helicopter continued it's flight, the steady sound of the blades rotating overhead impossible to hear by the occupants, despite it's deafening volume, thanks to the special helmets they now wore. Each person was garbed in a large, metallic black suit, covering every square inch of their body. On the helmet, five glowing blue dots shone brightly, one large one in the center of a visor, and two smaller ones on either side of it. Each person had some various gun visible behind them, the stock poking over the armor. Of course, guns ran out of ammo, so each person had a visible pistol strapped to their waste. It was possible that other weapons were hidden, or perhaps even integrated in the armor, though it was impossible to tell.
"How many are there, sir?" One man - at least, it sounded like a man, it was hard to tell with the bulky suits on - asked. Another soldier, stationed near the cockpit of the craft, let out a low grunt, the five "eyes" swiveling to face the person who spoke, doing so despite the fact that the voice had come from a transmitter in his helmet that projected the sound straight into his ears.
"We've got reports of at least two being spotted in various parts of the city," The man said, his voice low and deep, sounding like he should be much larger than he was, " But we won't know for sure. There could be any number of them hiding in this cesspool. It's our job to fish 'em out, and stuff em into the nearest Generator so they can't do anymore harm. Should we be unable to take them alive, then kill 'em, alright lads?"
The other soldiers, a grand total of five, not including the captain, let out a loud bellow of, "yes, sir!" Naturally, there wasn't a single feminine voice in the group, due to the male superiority complex, most likely.
The captain suddenly sat up straight, his face impossible to read because, well, it couldn't be seen.
"Well, it seems a few have decided to blast each other to hell and back. We'll be getting paid well tonight, boys!" the man yelled. This brought cheers from the other soldiers, who raised their fists in the air in a premature gesture of victory.

The helicopter quickly flew over the city, leaning back in order to stop rapidly. Two doors on either side of it slid open, and the soldiers immediately descended on black cables of an unknown material. They landed softly on the ground and, after a signal from the captain, the helicopter flew off, the cables retracting back inside as the doors shut on their own.
The captain made a silent signal with his hand, and the soldiers dispersed, combing every square inch of the city. Eventually, one of them would find at least one of the elementals, and then he would be able to sell the creature off at a very high price to any of the various cities, since more electrical power meant more expansion, and more expansion meant more political and economic power. With payoffs like that, the soldiers would be able to do most anything they wanted to for months to come, even if they did split the pay six ways. For them, they thought, this would be a most profitable evening, indeed.

((Let me warn you, there's a reason these guys can even consider splitting up lol. We needed a definite threat from the humans...))

Lolicia could smell them. THAT was a bad sign, especially in a world where soldiers could cover up their scent to take her out, the obvious smell of potential gunfire meant they WANTED a hunt and they knew they would win.

She ignored everything else going on, the wolf man, his powers would have intimidated her, if not sparked her interest for a fight, but she knew where her real fear lay.

"Aerial, let's go." She grabbed her friends hand, and sent a wave of sound to both of the males near them.

"Oi, your hides will be lighting the city up if you don't get out of here!" The message could only be heard by them.

People were starting to crowd from the commotion, so Lolicia put on her strongest coat of defense magic, shorting out all of her other powers, and making her exactly like a human, and then she did what she did best. She screamed "LET'S GET OUT OF HERE!" and ran clumsily (Untrained humans were SO clumsy) with her friend into the crowd.

((P.S. Aldo, we like you. smile ))

Aulacard awoke from the sound of a chopper overhead and began to crawl out of the tent to see which way it was heading. half way out he heard splashing and jumped up taking out his tent as his boots filled with water.

"what the hell!" was all he could muster in his shock
'now i know damn well that was not me, so where did all this water come fro..' his thoughts driffted to the flask and he quickly began to move the canvase that was used as the tent untill he found the flask.
water was poring out of the opening at a very steady pace.
'its active or whatnot thats for sure, but what woke it up after all this time?'

Aulacard picked up the flask and began to close it with the stopper, he noticed that as the stopper moved close to the opening the flow of the water began to slow, and stop just as he closed it.

'interesting.' he looked around at the newfound pool of water. he noticed that there were small teltel signs of live begining to grow around the pool.
'so the wastes are not completely inhabitable, just a matter of getting unpolluted water to quench the land...'

he rememberd why he woke up and looked around, he could see a dust trail heading toward the city. he then began to pack his gear up, knowing that any new source of water would not remain untouched for long, he headed to the city.

Lost in thought and barely noticing Shu's attack, he side steped but was graced on his side, "now thats what I get for thinking to much of the past, but now I know who you are, Shutensou the last of the Fire Dragons, heh...did'nt recognize you without Crap in your pants, and little baby booties," he smirked hold his side, "so you survived, somehow, im guessing is he who saved you?"

The soldiers continued to walk through the city, various electronic gauges and devices flickering silently behind their visors. For the time being, they were still a fair distance away from the group, but it wasn't likely to stay that way for long...

Bard reached the city, a trail of dust behind him. And heard sirens. Well, that wasn't a good sign....

It wasn't too difficult to make it into the city. In fact, the crowds seemed to be thinning at a rapid pace. Probably had something to do with the helicopter and sirens. It didn't take that long for him to locate where the girls had run off two, and the other two weren't really too much of a concern for him...

Of course, it was at this moment in time Lolicia and Aerial were spotted by one of the soldiers. The man in question was gazing at the crowd, when something inside his helmet beeped, and sensors started flashing on his display. Fortunatly for the girls, he wasn't allowed to run down a crowd of civilians in order to get to them, they had a little more extra time, at least... It was possible the soldier had said something, but the distance and background noise made it impossible to tell.

Of course, the two unknown males weren't so lucky. Blowing things up tends to keep a crowd from forming, and throwing fireballs around was a surefire way to get noticed. It didn't take long for one of the soldiers to find them. The man quickly pulled off his gun in a single, fluid motion, and had the two "creatures" trained in his computerized targeting system all in less than a second. "Hey, you there! Put your hands where I can see 'em! I've already got you in my sights, so don't even think of trying anything funny. One false move and you'll quickly find yourselves missing a head!" the man shouted.

Bard finally caught up with Lolicia and Aeriel, but, unfortunately, someone else had too. And, from the looks of it, they were getting closer. Not good. Maybe, if he was lucky, he'd manage to make better progress than the soldier...

((Aerial was taking a break, due to hours of homework and being at school til 6:30. As a note, my hours are going to become even more and more constricted over the next few months. I no longer have free Saturdays. I'm terribly sorry for this, but it truly can't be helped. I actually enjoy being crazy busy and getting to bed at 12:30/1 am and getting up at 6:30/7.
If I don't post, feel free to do a little bit with Aerial))

Aerial swerved suddenly, dragging Lolicia with her. Human scent was everywhere, and nothing normal would work. If this man could see through their feeble disguises, he could see through her illusions. ******** eyes watching her made the girl uncomfortable. It wasn't as if she'd never been in a situation like this, it was the fact that she still got scared by them. Each was a step towards her own destruction, a downward spiral that she readily careened down on, swooping and shifting, playing with fire.

Being methodical and overly logical, Aerial had a very distinct danger response. If it was a large group, you ran (if it was one guy, you attacked first, dragged the body as far away from prying eyes as possible, and then asked questions). Dodging and putting up illusions usually worked, and for those who slipped through...
You came up with a better answer.

She also never talked while fleeing. Being not completely as "humanoid" as the others, Aerial had a problem with saying things. She was terribly blunt, and always seemed to bring up the wrong things. Plus, it was easier to breathe when you didn't speak. Aerial decided to put up illusions anyway, just in case. It made her feel better to have them there.

It was in this way she ran, feet barely touching the ground. Her grip was firm on Lolicia's hand as the taller girl dragged her friend through an alley way. She'd hidden here a couple days ago, when the sight and sound of the city had become too much.

Glancing around quickly, Aerial got down on her hands and knees and opened a sort of door into the ground. Her eyes were almost begging for Lolicia to just start climbing down into the dark void. The mage started her downward descent.

((So what should we do if you're not there? make you randomly tag along with me? have you run back to shelter and stay for a while? If you don't respond with something, I'll just go with the first thing.))

Lolicia was much more comfortable in the crowd, knowing the soldiers couldn't get to her there. She squirmed under aerial's grip, but kept her cool. She was angry about not being in control, but assumed it was better than leaving her friend by herself. She sighed,

"Underground eh? sounds good to me."

Lowering her defenses just a magic sealer ((Something that stops he flow of magic around her from getting into the air. 80% effective)) she let her disguise melt, and jumped down the hole, and into the unknown.

Across this barren world...

((1 to 7? You get a lot of sleep..... Oh and I apologize for my really horrible post, I typed it at lunch break and am too lazy to rewrite it))

Kira quickly realized that something was wrong when she heard the chopper. 'Choppers aren't good...'
She scanned the streets below. A black figure running up one of the roads caught her attention.

'Oh ******** leapt backwards and slammed the curtains shut. She knew what those soldiers could do, and she happened to like her freedom and life. If there was one there was bound to be more.

'If we're caught we're in deep s**t. Lock down and hope for the best?'

'I think its our best chance, either that or we run. And who knows how long that'll work' She rummaged through her messy desk and pulled out a stack of paper. They had writing in dragon runes on them and seemed to shimmer slightly. She stabbed each one to a wall with tacks and completely covered the door.

She took one of her many pocket knives and made a cut on each of her fingers. She pressed them to the paper. The whole room lit up for a moment before returning to normal.
The seals hid magic and made a kind of 'don't look over here' illusion. But they weren't that strong and could be removed physically.

Shuffling back to her bed she set her hand on the shadow-creatures head. It tore into five different shapes and formed into crows.
"Watch the city. Don't be seen." She commanded and opened the window to let them out. She watched as they shot off in different directions before getting interrupted by angry shouting.

'What the hell?! If one of those is caught it might be traced back here!'

'We don't have a choice. We need eyes in the city seeing as how my window only faces in one direction'

'Fine be stupid. But at least get ready to leave so when they come we might have a chance'

Kira nodded and threw some stuff around until she found a black messenger bag. She started grabbing ammo, guns, grenades, knives, a short sword, money, and various other crap and stuffed it in the bag. She was at that moment internally grateful for getting it enchanted so it held far more than it seemed.

Finished packing the bag she dissembled the sniper rifle and put it in a long black case which she hung slanted on her back. The gun was huge and so was the case. It stuck up behind her head and went down pretty low.

After making sure she still had her handgun she took the last weapon left, her M240 machine gun((Ha! I actually got a name!)). She slung the strap over her head so the gun rested on her side and sat down on the floor. In her black cargo pants, long-sleeved black shirt with a high collar, and combat boot, she looked ready to start a one man war.

'Now to wait' She closed her eyes and when she opened them again she was looking at five different views of the city from above. 'Damn, the humans are moving too fast. I can't tell how many there are...'

'Well then lets hope they find Doggy and the other Elementals first. If they start some battle we can make a break for it. This city isn't safe anymore. Not while they are here'

Who walks with me?
PostPosted: Fri Jan 09, 2009 3:32 am

after getting close enough to the city limits, aulacard noticed that there was a rather large commotion and decided to keep his distance till the commotion settled down.

He noticed that there was an old shack nearly half mile away from the enerance of the city and headed that direction, uppon arrival he could tell that it was abbandoned and that it has not had any occupants for quite some time. he entered and set his bag down, opened it and pulled out his binoculars and looked towards the city.

he saw that there was a helocopter circling the city, a large groupe of people were moving about nervously, and two charachters fighting one another, one of which appeared as if they were a lupin on steroids. just as he began to lower his binoculars he saw something streak out into the air from the buildings, it flew in an unusual pattern, when he could focus on it clearly he could se that it was a rave, of a sort, but its coloration.... he quickly went back to the two fighting when he saw bright flashes of light.

he quickly dug in his bag for a strip of dried meat and the canteen, and continued to watch the city from a istance.

((starting from the beginning for him))

'Where am I' For first time feeling that he was surrounded by liquid, he thought that was normal. Time dragged on as he continually just... lasted... as he could only describe as weakness. 'Who am I? What am I?' His eyes flickered for the first time in his life and someone took notice.

A long while, as he thought was long, he heard someone communicate with him, "If you can understand me, try moving your body." Although the words were the first spoken to him ever, he understood. Slowly he raised his hand appeasing the voice, "Very good. You will hear from me again."

More time passed as he slowly grew more concious of his surroundings. He realised he was the only one in the liquid; others either had white labcoats or yellow jumpsuits on and continued their menial tasks. He slowly waved his arms through the water feeling his body tingle from an over exertion. One of the labcoats walked up to the case, " That must be excruciating," he told a jumpsuit,"since all his energy goes to power the whole island and part of the city." He thought to himself 'I am being used?'

From the flames...
((Okay, so I've been MIA for a prolonged amount of time, so please excuse my current insouciant post. I don't really know about what has been happening, so I'm just going to go with what I think.... so ya. And once I'm more involved, I promise I'll be more interesting...))

Consciousness. While consciousness was still black, feeling was starting to return to her body. Moving her fingers, she reached out to touch her surroundings, but found her arm unable to move further than a few inches in any direction. The other arm, and her legs were bound in a similar manner. Finally, she opened her eyes. Thousands of wires were connected to her body, inhibiting her movement anywhere, and seemed to all connect to a huge machine of some kind. She tugged at a wire, only to set off a loud beeping alarm. What was going on, and more importantly, where the hell was she? She remembered nothing of this place, not what it was or how she’d gotten there. How long had she been this way? This not feeling… what had happened?

A small group of armed soldiers in an odd skin-looking armor burst into the room. She backed up, disrupting more wires and causing the alarms to get even louder. The soldiers aimed their guns and shot a weird silvery substance. She tried to dodge, and got most of it on the wires, which promptly began to spark and fizzle. She channeled into her inner elemental stores, and found them completely depleted. She tried again, each time sparking and fizzling out like a lighter out of fuel. Lovely. She would have to fight her way out the old-fashioned way… if only she had her old sword, or any kind of weapon!
She quickly spied a clump of fizzling wires that resembled a cat o’ nine tails, and could be used as a whip.

I’ve never been one for the whole dominance fetish, but I guess this is what the situation calls for… She cracked the whip, causing the soldiers to step back. Whatever had been powering the machine must have been pretty strong, because these guys were rather cowed. She cracked it again, this time releasing a huge burst of fiery sparks from the ends that engulfed the soldiers. It had only a slight effect. Those weird suits must be impervious to elemental powers. Great…now what the hell do I do? Her fight-or-flight instinct kicked in, and she went with it. She ran full speed ahead to the meta door the soldiers had come through, hoping to disconcert them a give her a way out. They were surprised by the random sprint, but a few globs of the silver goo managed to attach itself to her skin. It seemed to numb, the burn her flesh until there were lovely gouges in her skin. She just kept running, flicking the whip at any remaining soldiers, who were thankfully not in the suits. Finally she got out of the hellish building, and ran full speed anywhere besides where she’d been. And that just happened to be a lovely little entrance to the cities sewers. Well, the smell you could used to… or so people said…

If you couldn't guess... EMBER'S BACK!

((Best thing to do when I'm not here--make stuff up. I can be following silently, or standing in the shadows. I'll probably post ~once/twice a week, since along with robo I'm doing something for choir, and just got a part in the school play!))

Aerial didn't mind being in the dark, deep places of the earth. They were calming, and almost a home. The smell was awful, but you could get used to details like that.

Making sure Lolicia was following, she darted through the underground passages until she came to a tunnel that gave you two options to turn into. The girl stopped, waiting for Lolicia to take the lead, or for something to come their way.

Lolicia Heard Aerial step beside her. She knew one of the soldiers had been close behind, and wondered if they could track them. All her magic was focused on concealing itself. Not even a dragon would have recognised her as anything but a human. However, his meant her senses were as dull as a humans. She grabbed Aerials hand, ignoring her brains protest against showing weakness.

"I'm scared. What if they catch me? What do they do to you?" She couldn't even hear herself talk. She dragged Aerial into the depths of the darkness, her now human senses forbidding her to see anything but black, or hear anything but the continuous slosh of the rotting water.

bu she DID hear something. a clang, as someone else entered the sewers. She froze, and her defenses wavered for a split second. Her eyes grew wide, and she dragged her friend further and further down the halls, towards or away from the noise, she wasn't sure.

((I was hoping Adolfo would have posted by now... Hope he gets back soon, otherwise he might wind up having most of these guys on his back lol))
((For purposes of this post, I'm keeping it all in a single color))
The soldier finally started making good progress through the crowd, which was by now almost non-existent. It was only a matter of time before the small militia kept at hand started to mobilize, as was the norm in these situations. He had to get to the creatures before they did. He wouldn't get paid otherwise. He started to draw closer to the alley the two girls had gone down....

Bard stood on the other side of the dwindling crowd. As far as he could tell, he hadn't been spotted yet, which meant he had time to prepare.... He pulled his flute out of his pocket. He wouldn't use it for long, but he needed something to start with. He raised the metal to his lips and started to gently blow....

The soldier's head jerked up as small sensors in his helmet went off, around the same time he started hearing a peculiar sound. His sensors instantly told him he'd found another target. Moreover, the target in question was simply standing there, playing music. Easy money. The soldier pulled his rifle off his back, and raised it to fire as the computer in his armor locked onto Bard. He quickly pulled the trigger. Of course, these guns didn't use bullets, since bullets were easy for elementals to deflect. Instead, they used a bright, concentrated pulse of energy, powerful enough to cut through even the toughest electrical insulator. On reflex, Bard stopped playing, and raised his right hand. A bright light erupted from his palm, and the two shots collided just inches from Bard. Of course, simply nullifying the shot would make things too easy, and he should have known this. In fact, he probably would not have done that, had his concentration not been focused solely on his playing. The pulse cut straight through the bolt, which in turn send a large shock up Bard's arm.

Bard screamed as he was hurled backwards, hitting the side of a building with a loud smack. He slowly rose to his feet, his head spinning from the impact. His flute had snapped into an extra piece, rendering it useless. He cursed, then stuffed it back into his pocket as the soldier approached. Bard could feel his smirk even without seeing his face. A loud, electrical laugh could be heard as the man switched on his external speakers, so Vince could hear him. "That wasn't too bright of you. Of course, no one accused you monsters of being bright, now did they?" He said. He raised his right foot, and kicked Bard squarely in the chest, the way one would kick down a door. Bard hit the wall again, his breath leaving him in an audible gasp. The man laughed again. " If you're nice, and come along quietly, then maybe I'll sell you to a research firm, or perhaps a small, developing city in some third-world country."

Bard coughed as he regained his breath. He rose slowly, obviously feeling a little shell-shocked. "Go... To... hell...." He wheezed. His palm erupted in light as he hurled another bolt of energy at the man. To his horror, however, the bolt dissipated harmlessly on the armor. In fact, it almost looked as though it had been absorbed. The soldier laughed again. "They all try it at least once. I stopped telling them how futile it was a long time ago. Most try to result to physical force when they find it no longer works, with much the same success. Perhaps you think you will be able to fare better. I'm telling you right now, it's hopeless. Of course, should you still try to fight, that's fine." The soldier said. His voice suddenly turned cruel, laced with the sadistic pleasure displayed by those who obviously enjoy causing pain. "Of course, I always could use a bit of entertainment. Now then, freakshow, what's it gonna be?"

Vince looked into the empty blue lights that served as the optical sensors in the man's helmet. He slumped over, as if in defeat, something that obviously gave the man some odd pleasure. He laid his hand against the ground, and started pushing himself up. The breeze started to pick up, and found it's way into the most obscure places possible, into every nook and cranny. At first, the soldier took no notice. Then, the wind, passing through the tight spaces, started to whistle. The man's head jerked from side to side, as if he was trying to pinpoint the sound, before turning back to Bard. "What the hell are y-" He said, before being cut off as a large gust of air was somehow channeled straight into his chest, sending him flying back into the more open area, and stirring up the nearby dust and debris into a thick cover. The whistling started to change pitch and tone, as Bard used the very structures the humans had built to create vibrations and thus, his music. Anything that had an opening was used, causing the entire city to reverberate with the odd form of music. The soldier smiled, despite the fact no one could see it. "Alright, let's have some fun before you get hooked to some generator..." The soldier murmured.

((Hmm. I think I actually hate my own NPC lol. I'll figure out something to do with the other.... 4 soldiers later.))
