The Queen of Hearts
Sophia was not happy. She laid on her luxurious bed and felt the sad memories that had dominated her past and nightmares overwhelm her. She pressed her gloved hands to her dark eyes.
"Damn that Unicorn to the darkest hell."
No no she couldn't think like that. The Unicorn can be a powerful ally. She had already sent the White Rabbit into the room, making sure that Uni didn't want for anything. She had made sure to slip his watch into his pocket, if she wanted she could hear the conversation. But the Queen of Hearts was busy remembering why her heart was broken. She rolled onto her stomach and pulled out a picture book that had been shoved between the mattresses. It had pictures of her sisters and her mother, as well as her aunt and cousins. Her father lurked in some of the photos, but not many. Sophia ran her fingertips over the smiling faces, she tried to smile and remember good memories, but she could only see their faces as each member but her was lead onto the guillotine stand.
Sophia stood and threw the book across the room. She could not let herself think about such things. The Queen walked to her closet to pick out her tea things.
((OCC: @ Tigette, I'm so glad they didn't have Home Ec at my school, tons of girls had to take those stupid things home and even to church.))

Katty turned away from the Rabbit as he entered, and half hoped he would stay and talk with the Unicorn so she could learn more about the castle. Maybe it would even have the jungle gym that had been seemingly promised at the beginning of the journey. He has to stay if Lolli wants him to.The queen says she gets anything she wants.

The Unicorn would have no way of knowing what Katty or The Queen of Hearts were thinking... but she could make a good guess. Katty is a sweet little one, much like Mally - so she couldn't risk being too inqisitive for thier sake when talking to the White Rabbit. On the other hand, seeing the raction that he had on orders from the Queen she could borrow the gestures and mannerisims to appear broken if she absolutly had to have tea. Otherwise a preplaned wardrobe accessory might mean the differance between being tricked or poisoned - if something would be slipped into her drink she'd have to watch for clues carefully. To know if she were to faint or *sacrifice* some information - either way Uni'd have to be alert!
The White rabbit however had not said anything -- it must have appeared the Unicorn had been waiting stone-like for *ever* so long...

Katty's stomach growled loudly as it had on the carriage and she held her breath as she prayed the White Rabbit hadn't heard it. She clasped her stomach with pain and thought of foood....

The White RabbitThe Rabbit rolled his eyes, dreading having to speak to the Unicorn in any way. He hastily made for a carved wooden chair in the corner, and pulled it closer to the bed before sitting. He sat straight up the way an official servant of the Queen would before obeying the Unicorn's request and starting conversation,
" So... Do you have a name or do you wish to be known as 'Unicorn'?" He shifted in his seat. It wasn't exactly comfortable for a rabbit to sit still, even in human form. He tapped his foot impatiently awaiting an answer.

He tapped his foot impatiently awaiting an answer. Almost painfully, the Unicorn shares the name she'd used with her friends - if anything it would distract from Katty's tummy rumblings. Uni is fine, if you please --pausing as if feeling light headed. Might you have a little something? It has been a long day and I daresay tea might not hold my appitite until dinner...She had to chance that the food brought to a special guest would be just enough not to be tainted with, then while talking to the White Rabbit, slip some to the others - tiding them over until the escape.

Not understanding Uni's intentions to share, Katty thought enviously Aw man, Lolli gets food! I want food too... Absentmindedly, Katty began to rise up into the air, and began passing through the bottom of the chest of drawers, and then through them until she settle into one filled with elegant silks and shimmering fabrics. "Goodness that was peculiar." She squeaked quietly and admired the fine articles of clothing beneath her.

(forgive me for moving this along and let me know if it's God-moding) The Unicorn accepts the food the White Rabbit has given her and pretends to take a bite from the tasty pastry. Wow..,even cake tastes better in the castle! She passes it from one hand to the other, to suggest another angle to look at it - but in actuality - palms a portion of it to slip to Katty. Her foot did not feel the presence of her and for a moment, Uni is afraid; where did she go?! Still, she takes advantage of the Rabbit's temporary aloofness to then put the section in the drawer to save for later - unknowingly giving Katty the food instead. Uni then gives such a smile that suggests her actions were nothing unusual and that she had been at ease from the Queen's behavior towards her.

Katty automatically clamped onto the food and had eaten half of it already before she realized it was her least favorite food of all. "Ew...pastries." She mewed quietly and wrinkled her nose in disgust. But she was almost to hungry to care, so she choked the rest of it down and then lay down to self pity the stomach pain given to her by the frosting and high starch levels.
((It's fine with me! I personally enjoy the increase of pace in the plot.))

"The Looking-Glass," Caterpillar replied glancing toward it and then back to Amelia. He was unsure whether she actually at the moment had the power to untaint the blade; so drawing power from the Looking-Glass might be useful. "It may be of some use to untaint the sword," He added.

Adam and Amelia Amelia ran her fingers over the sword handle. It was free of the magic, she could tell, but it looked almost scarred. Her eyes welled up slightly as she felt sudden despair. Why did she ever think she'd be able to do this? Why didn't she stay in her tree-hollow house, making potions and reading poetry? She picked up the large sword and walked over to the Looking-glass, where it stood on a platform. Amelia could feel the power radiating from it. She sighed heavily as she sat down and closed her eyes, letting it seep into her.
"I don't know what I was thinking. I am only a hedge witch at best."
Adam felt a wave of despair from his twin roll over him in his half sleep state. He stiffened from his laying position on the couch. He sat up, his blue eyes narrowing as he heard his twin start to wallow in self pity. Adam spoke loudly and clearly.
"Mia, that's enough. You were chosen for this task so it means you can do it. So stop feeling sorry for yourself and do it. Tell her Cat."
With this Adam fell back onto his couch, hands behind his head.

(again...moving it along and apologies if is God-moding) The Unicorn has a pleasent enough chat with the White Rabbit. She was able to discover the hedge maze had no real exit, only endless turns and twists... The tarts in which the Queen was so proud of - was partly because - they were in fact, heart shaped. And though many of her subjects had some sort of rule over most of her subjects;it was a fine line between awe and fear. Uni picks off some of the tuna fish - only because she preferred the bread and butter plain thank you very much - and pockets it as before, in the dresser with Katty.

Katty once again ate one of her not-so-favorite foods, but fish was better than beef or chicken or pork. It just felt weird to eat something that was bigger than you... Don't they have any PRODUCE in this castle?! I'd even settle for vegetables! Except not celery. or Avocados. Those are gross.

Caterpillar looked away for a moment; he knew this was difficult for Amelia... but she was the only one who could untaint the sword. "Amelia; you are strong... and your power; although incomplete; is strong also... the Jabberwock himself said that you can untaint the blade," He looked at Amelia sternly but with a kind expression. "You have the ability... I am your tutor; I know this."
