I lifted my head as I heard him speak and opened my eyes, only to see Ariya's white wolf face and multi-colored eyes in my face. She leaned forward and touched her nose to my brow.
Osta, dear defender of hope, please, I beg of you, do not hurt my friend. He's been through alot, some of it because of me, others because of his past. I ask you to be kind to him, and be patient. You two are alot alike, and you two can be really great together. Just please, don't hurt him, and he won't hurt you.
I was quiet as she stepped back, bowed her head down then straightened back out and walked out of the cave. I sat there long after she'd left, only being jostled out of my thoughts when I heard Kain in the other room. I stood and walked into the doorway. "Nice to see you up."

hadn't been to sleep in days, been watching the caves almost constantly or hunting,how have you been Osta? and how are your wounds? do i need to redress them?

I shook my head and walked in a little more. "You should take a break." I said. "Rayne, Ariya, and Midnight should be able to hold down the cave."

Osta..."walks a little more into the light, not wearing my eyepatch" this is the price i payed...for Ariya, and not being more careful, during the massive fight i fought inorder to keep her safe since she was wounded, i was stabbed in the eye, this is a constant reminder...and it makes me unable to sleep normally because of that...i wont let what happend to me happen to them"walks forwards a little more,standing right infront of you now" or you

I was quiet for a moment, then i pulled off my shirt and turned around. down my back were streaks of bare skin, barren of the black fur that covered my body. I turned back to him and pulled off my bracers, revealing the 2in thick scars that were on my wrists, then I held up my hands, palm first, showing him the scars in each of my palms. Then I pulled my shirt and bracers back on. "You are not the only one with scars." I said, stepping closer to him. "Here," I said, placing a hand gently by his eye, referring to physical scars, "Or here," I said, placing a hand over his heart. "We've all had our share of scars, and we have to learn to deal with them." I looked at him and smiled a little.

I know Osta...i just cant be so careless anymore"looking into your eyes" i dont want any of you hurt, Rayne has enough dealing with the loss of her lover Ben, and Ariya still has trust issues because her past, so i have to watch over them...them and you are all i have anymore

I nodded and smiled weakly, sadness in my eyes. "Be glad that you have someone to fight for. Cherish them, and enjoy the time you have with them, for uyou never know when they'll be taken from you." I said.

I wanted to look at him the same way, I really did, but I couldn't. No matter how hard i tried I just couldn't uncover the feelings of love I had once held. I smiled at him, and gently removed my hands from his. "That's good." I said.

The smile that was on my face was a sad one. "Hope..." I whispered. The word seemed so foreign, et it was i my name. "Estela..." The word felt better, safer, and sadder. They were the same words, just in different languages, yet their meanings were entirely different. I looked at him. I hadn't loved in 70 years, I had long forgotten what it felt like. But maybe, I could uncover it.

His voice snapped me from my thoughts and i nodded, rolling the cave closed. I felt a little uncomfortable, since there was no escape now, but I hid it and turned to him, replaying Ariya's words. "Better?" I asked.
