I was talking with someone the other day and it turns out they had not heard of knocking on wood for good luck... I find that most curious.
And yes, "Knock on wood", which might be a phrase and not a word, is one of my favorite wishes for luck.

I'm always fascinated at how language changes. For instance, the phrase that was current when I was a kid (LOOOOONG ago...) when someone was being repetitive, was "They sound like a broken record!" Well... now what would we use? Hardly anyone listens to actual "records" any more, and a skipping CD doesn't repeat, it just goes to the next viable track.
So what phrase means "being repetitive" these days?? smile

My favorite word this month is "over". As in, finals, x-mas, and copious amounts of stress.
My second favorite word this month is copious. heh.

Hmm, my favorite words this month are "Rogue" & "Squadron". mrgreen
Why? Cuz I just got that game for my cube, the second one actually, not the third.

Hmmm... real word: Spring, as in it's all flowery outside and that has me happy!
Fake word: Blah! The sound a Wenny makes when she's tired of studying.

Confuzzled has been heard of over here too B-rad. I like it too!
Someone I knew used to say "confuzzlated" as well.
I've got something with the word FOLLY at the moment.
I'm also fond of the term PIN CUSHION for some reason.

I start talking gibberish a lot when my older brother gets on my nerves so I think a typical word for me would be "Fzaaah!" It means that I'm frustrated or annoyed. ^^
