The excitment is great and i love the program. It gets you ready for life and everyone is just great. I was in 8th grade when i heard about it they came into my history class and talked about it. Why I joined: Simply put, I have an inferiority complex to my older brother. My older brother was the Wing Commander and a Lieutenant Colonel. I want to improve myself as a person and get over the envy I have for him. Also, I was interested in AFJROTC since my brother was in it.

Why I joined: My dad is a retired Marine Corps Staff Sergeant and when I saw that my highschool had a Marine Corps JROTC program I flipped. So I joined and after the first day I fell in love with the program. I plan to stay until my Junior year, and take NROTC or AFROTC in college so that I may join the military as an officer and a flight nurse.

Why I joined: I originally joined NJ because of the fact that i didn't want to take P.E., but i ended up loving it and I am in my third year of my enrollment in the program. I've worked my way up to being the Company Commander being a junior which at my school is something. I am the state falg in our color gaurd and fill in as commander when our Ensign is not willing to do the event. I am the Unarmed commander on my drill team. I have been the PLT assistant for a semester before becoming CO, and I served as the supply assistant as a freshman and the Adminstration officer the first semester of my junior year before becoming CO.

Why I joined: Originally, I joined the Junior Cadet Corps in middle school because I didn't like P. E. (I know, laaaame.) I also imagine that I was attracted to it because my brother was in the Army at the time, and had always been a total military geek, so I guess a little bit of it rubbed of on me. But once I was in the program, I discovered that taking orders from people and wearing a uniform and having military bearing and stuff was totally my thing, and so I naturally signed up for JROTC in high school.

Why I joined: It started off as my friends brother wanting the recruiting ribbon and then i learned that i didnt have to do regualr PE. So that was a plus,before i joined i was pretty much a dope smokeing hippie,now im a contributing member of society. I have over 100 hours of community service under my belt.
Im a member of our competion Color Guard team(california flagsmen),but since comp season is over im going to be moved up to American flagsmen and ill be the leader of one of our Color Guard comp teams next semester.

Why I joined: I want to get in to a decent college, most of which are looking for leadership experience, knowing that AJROTC will give me some I joined. Also my father was in AFROTC, both he and my mother encouraged me to join, the rest of my family not so much. In the long run I guess I did it for the experience, the heightened possibility of getting in to a good college, and getting to know people I wouldn't have met otherwise.
