Leopard_Sonya These are my thoughts on Him: (ok this is going to feel like an essay)
All right. First of all I have to elaborate on my “personalities” comment earlier. I have seen MANY fanfics where the author has portrayed Kurama as having as many as three personalities. Those being Youko Kurama, Shuuichi Minamino, and their combined personality Kurama. I agree with this to a certain extent. I believe that there are only two personalities, Youko Kurama and Kurama. I believe that the way he acts as Shuuichi Minamino is just a façade that Kurama puts on in front of people that he doesn’t know, or hasn’t told them about him being an avatar. I also get the genuine feeling that no matter what form he is in that he has a authentic love for his mother Shiori.

A lot of people don’t understand that as the Infamous “King of Thieves in Makai” Youko had to be VERY ruthless in order for him to get that reputation. Youko would kill a man for looking at him in a way that he didn’t like. And to tell the truth, if I had control of ANY kind of plant-life I’d make them grow into weapons too if someone pissed me off, or was threatening the lives of the ones that I loved. (Just Me)

As Kurama, he is a lot more considerate to those around him. Albeit if you piss him off in either form you are liable to get your a** handed to you on a silver platter.
I feel that the reason for Kurama’s genius in school is derived from the facts that (1) He has a 1000 + year old kitsune soul living in his body, That would have ANYONE acting smarter than the average person. And, (2) Kitsunes are VERY curious creatures, I have no doubt in my mind that the minute Shiori put a book in her son’s hands he started reading none-stop trying to learn all he could about the atmosphere around him. I can already see the look on Shiori’s face when she sees her five year old son sitting down on the couch reading a college level history book. ::LMAO::
I have to touch on this point just a little before I finish. Many people believe that Kurama is ONLY gay. I’m thinking that he is not so much as he would be Bi-sexual. The reason that I say this is:
In Japanese Mythology, Kitsunes were VERY sexual creatures. That being said, I have no doubt that given the “urge” Youko wouldn’t care what gender his “Partner” is as long as each other enjoyed themselves. BUT I don't think that his thoughts are only based around sex either.
Those are all my thoughts for now. I May add more in the future. I'd have to agree with you. I think the exact same thing

Uh huh Iam with that.
For the statement of evil thing,people just say that Yoko's evil only because he can be a ruthless fighter and kill someone if absolutely nessacary.Catch him in a different situation and he could totally be different I think

True,very true point still its a humans way of identifying and labeling something in order to understand it.Thats way some ppl say that yoko is in a sense of the word evil

~*Lieben Sie mich für mich.*~ I personally think that Youko can be full of himself. Cocky, perverse, etc. But he has his good qualities too I suppose. His charm, looks, anything a "fangirl" would go for. But, I suppose his friendship with Kuronue proved that he isn't evil -not completely anyways-, just doing what he does best, and that's stealing, and being an infamous thief. It's Makai. Survival of the fittest. You are either strong and thrive, or you're weak and dead by nightfall. Besides, he enjoyed stealing. ~Shrug~ I guess that's one of the many little things that one likes about him?
I prefer Kurama. Kind, considerate, yet sharp and mysterious. Kurama is, what one would say, "The one". He's intelligent, loves his mother, will protect his friends when he needs to, he's friendly over all, and practically has no reason to get mad. Of course, that isn't to say that he doesn't get mad at all. But, he's just the type of guy any girl would go for, well, any that wants a guy like that. ~Shrug~ Others want a badass, "macho" man, or what ever else they want in a guy. But, Kurama is just fine in my opinion. And it's not just Kurama only, but like, any other guy that holds at least one or two qualities that Kurama has. I look up to Kurama, yes, a fictional character. But I don't care, I do. Some anime teaches you a lesson. Well, to me, Kurama taught me about...well, myself. Don't know how to put it any simpler.
So, obviously, my preference goes to Kurama. ~*Love me for me*~

WyndiWingfall I have something wrong with your theory--or, more accurately, canon does. Kurama clearly stated that he took over the body of a fetus--an unborn baby--and merged with it BEFORE THAT FETUS DEVELOPED ITS OWN SOUL. 3nodding
Therefore, one soul. FINALLY! Someone else who gets it! I thought I was the only one who understood this...Or at least it seemed like it

I don't get actually get why Youko Kurama was labelled as a "Perv". But on my personal opinion, i think it's because he is a Bishounen and his voice. It just feels that way since, he can be seductive if he wanted to but he isnt labelled as a perv.

What I'm wondering is, since he has one soul, does he have multiple personalities or schizophrenia (auditory hallucinations)? Because during the infamous Idunn box incident, he did seem to be talking to himself. Or, Youko was talking to Shuuichi. So, does he have psychological issues (understandable, seeing as how he nearly died and had to possess a fetus and possibly destroy its chance at life), or was the English dub for the anime erroneous?

Just because he was reborn into a human body and now has the heart of a human, does not mean he has stopped being Youko Kurama. The almost sickly sweet and caring "Shuichi" is a mask Kurama puts on in order to blend with his surroundings. Shuichi is not so much a personality but a ruse and a trick for the humans around him. "Kurama" is the somewhat muted down personality of Youko... I feel that Kurama is Youko holding back his true self... not only due to the fact that he is weaker in his human body, but also because even though the others KNOW he's a demon, he still cannot be as ruthless as he once was. Then we have the truest "form" we have Youko... that is pure unbridaled Kurama, nothing is holding him back and he is showing the true colours he possesses. Now, as for WHY people hink Kurama has split personalities... Well I blame Funimation's translations for that... ESPECIALLY their translation and dub over of the fight with Ura Urishima. In the Japanese version there NO conversation between "Shuichi" and "Youko". In the Japanese version when he is reverting back to his human form he simply states that time is returning to normal, nothing more. In fact through out the entire series Funimation tries to keep the theme of two or three personalities on Kurama's part going. When you watch the original Japanese dub there is absolutely nothing like that. Kurama is seen as one being, one soul, one personality.
