Boromir's really cool....but I dunno. Faramir just has a certain sense of regal nobility about him, you know? He has true "quality", if you know what I mean. Not like Boromir didn't....but in the book (no thanks to Jackson, changing it in the movie), Faramir didn't succumb to the evils of the Ring. He let Frodo go. That shows a character depth that Boromir lacked, whatever other good qualities he may have had.

It most likely that most people would choose Faramir over Boromir, but you can see why. I prefer Faramir, because you feel sorry for him, and I get so mad when Denethor says that he wanted Faramir to die and not Boromir scream
But then, when Boromir dies I felt sorry for him, but he was so...urgh
