Cloud's eyebrowsed raised in slight amusement at this display. The man certainly resembled Sephiroth, but didn't act anything like him. Still it might be best to keep on eye on him. For now though he just smiled and nodded. "I see, well I hope you enjoy yourselves. Don't spend too much money at the casino." The blonde started towards the door, pausing beside Kadaj.

"I don't much care for arresting people, so might I suggest you return the items in your pocket?" He gave the thief a little salute and continued on his way. Brushing a strand on hair from his eyes the sheriff yawned and decided to go see if Tifa was up yet.

((Can I be Tifa till someone else shows up?))

(Actually, someone just asked to be Tifa, but since they haven't posted yet and I can't remember who, you're free to be her stand-in until then. 3nodding )

Reno looked up from his card game, a shine of light having caught his eyes. It was a strand of silver hair falling loose from Sephiroth's hat. His eyes narrowed slightly, he studied Sephiroth's profile intently. It almost looks like he's checking him out.

Kadaj staggered under the unexpected weight of the much taller man. He had a rather scathing comment in response to Sephiroth’s threat, but he managed to hold his tongue. Whelp, indeed! (Kadaj had to admit he was rather attention attracting, so he decided to allow that. But, still! Whelp?)

Thankfully the confrontation didn't come to a Dodge-and-Run. Kadaj nearly heaved a sigh of relief at Cloud’s dismissal. “Oh, we won’t -” he began to say. But then Cloud was right beside him, eyeing his pockets, and his heart nearly stopped. He took the Sheriff’s warning with a forced smile and innocent, fluttering hands. By the time Cloud was heading back towards the door, Kadaj was too busy bristling to come up with any excuses. Two people in one day?! 'I must be slipping.'

“Oh, what does he know?” he snipped. And - still stung from Sephiroth's earlier comment - he threw a petulant "Whelp" at Cloud's back for good measure. No matter that he was younger than the Sheriff by several years.

"Lets see here. Roger Brown, Larramy Reinhold, and... Harrison Ford?! Oh wait that says Harold. Damn." Reno had excused himself from the blackjack table and had swiped the wallets in Kadaj's pocket without him noticing and was rifeling through them.

"Wha-? Hey!!" Kadaj lunged for the wallets in Reno's hands, accidently jerking away from Sephiroth at the same time. "What are you doing sticking your hands into my pockets, you perv-" he suddenly pulled up short - composing himself mid-sentance - and glared haughtily at the red head. "I found those. On the floor."

'This is really not my day.' he lamented silently.

"Found them on the floor? Really? Is that so? Then I'm sure none of these people will say they were in contact with you at all?" Reno smiles, while fighting the urge to pocket the wallets himself.

"I.... wouldn't go so far as to say that," Kadaj fumbled, casting a quick, pleading glance at Sephiroth. "Uh, that is, I'm a friendly guy; I may have met them at some time or another. Who's to say?" He managed a haughty little sniff.

"I'm sure. And I'm also sure that they'd have remembered having their wallets before you graced their lives with your presence." He gave the wallets a little shake in his hands for emphasis; dangling them in front of Kadaj in an alost taunting manner.

Seph had fallen to the floor at Kadaj's jerking away, and was stumbling to his feet, looking disoriented.

"Dajio, c'mon. Just give back the wallets and less' go,"

Kadaj watched the wallets - his ticket to a good meal that night - dangle from the red-head's fingers. His eye twitched a little at the thought of giving them up, but Sephiroth's voice snapped him out of his daze.

"Right." He moved to take Sephiroth's arm the way one would escort a drunken friend. "I was on my way to give those back to their rightful owners anyway." He had to surpress a whine at the thought. "Would you be a dear and look after that for me, Red?" Despite the pain of leaving his meal tickets behind he managed to toss a smug, holier-than-thou grin over his shoulder at Reno. "Thanks so much."

"Oh yes. I'll make sure theyget back to the places." He manages a sneer.

"Good man." Kadaj smirked again, leading a staggering Sephiroth through the growing casino crowd. He gently patted the tall man's back. "Okay, Reuben, let's get you home." True to his nature, Kadaj just couldn't resist giving Reno a mocking wink and a flirty swish-swish of his hips seconds before they left the building.

'That probably could have gone better' As they stepped through the doors, Kadaj slid a sidelong glance to Sephiroth. 'So, what happens now?' he wondered.

The wanted man continued his brain-damaged indicative stumble until they were down the street from the casino, before tugging Kadaj swiftly out of view and into an alley between a set of cheap apartments and a tavern, which reeked of garbage. He didn't appear to notice.

"Change of plans," he stated unnecessarily. It was quite clear that he wasn't going to be able to clear the casino of any more money tonight.
"I have to skip town, but somehow, change my appearance. I need a high-fashion, well-made, real-hair wig--price is no concern. Also, I need an inn for real. I should probably lay low until tomorrow," he sighed, looking annoyed, "this sets things back, a bit,"

((Thanks very much. ^^))

Tifa looked up from the book she was reading as Cloud entered the saloon again. He greeted her with a wave before sitting down on the nearest barstool. "G'morning Miss Lockhart" he said with a smile.

"You've been in the drinks" she replied accusingly, but smiling all the same. The sheriff laughed. "Well maybe if you stocked something like apple juice I could have gotten into that." As it was cloud was still somewhat uncomfortable about the man he'd met in the bar earlier. Had that really been Sephiroth? Well, whoever it was he planned to keep a close eye on them for the next couple of days.
