I think this would be Pro Tip #22 or something, but anyways:

Even if you have a favorite skill or two, remember that every skill has a use. If you have a low level skill, it will never be useful, but if trained it will become useful. Many people don't train skills because they have minimal/no use to them. Good examples are Crafting and RuneCrafting on Free-to-Play worlds, and Agility is frequently forgoten/unused on a Pay-to-Play world, along with Farming and sometimes Construction. On Pay-to-Play I'll admit part of the reason is likely how boring it is to raise those skills (not to mention slow and in the case of Construction, costly) but still, on Free-to-Play worlds people usually don't seem to find use in things like Crafting. Well NO DUH you can't find a use for it! If you never train it the skill will never be useful. Basically my point here is to try to balance yourself well enough that every skill you have is useful.

Also, a tip for members, don't do easy quests until after the Tears of Guthix quest, including Free-to-Play Quests if they aren't already done before getting a MemberShip. Remember, Tears of Guthix is every week, new quests are one or two a month only. QuestPoints are the easiest way, especially for lower level players, to get access every week. Until higher levels, you can't even get enough XP per action to get 100,000 XP easily to go get the Tears, so SAVE YOUR QUESTS for this. Remember, once you do the Tears of Guthix quest you can access the Tears every week, and they give GREAT XP to your lowest skill, helping balance you out very well. Usually if you have good Prayer (pretty sure that's what determines your time in the cave each week) already and can collect loads of tears, you can even frequently gain 3-4 levels each time until the levels reach 30, which is when they stop getting more XP per Tear by level, but still get enough to level you up each time one or two levels until about 40-45. Point is, so many people I know that are members don't do the Tears of Guthix every week, and they have all sorts of disadvantages from it. I've got every skill on the HighScores (except the new Hunting one because it's not out yet, but announced by this point in time) currently, and the Tears of Guthix are to thank for that, as they raised my Construction up enough that I could build new things to level it up higher for cheaper, and it has been a great help in my Herblore, Farming, and Slayer, all tasks that I greatly hate doing, so this tip is just to remember to do Tears of Guthix, and save your easy quests until you have done it so it's easier, and remember that every skill has a use or it wouldn't have been added to RuneScape, so train everything you can.
