The shift in the semblance felt warm to Cora's touch with the application that Iris leant. The shield's color shifted to a warmer hue, seeming to suggest the golden orange of sunset. Cora added more energy to the shield, hoping to strengthen it further, and with luck, the three that were hiding would remain hidden. If they came out, they would run into the shield... or if they tried to go around the shield, they had the flaming Danny to deal with.
"Ari..?" Cora questioned, hoping to know how long she should continue holding the shield. Too long would drain too much on Cora's strength, and she worried that she would need that energy later. ~~*~~

ArianaXXXXNyx_________________________________________________ Tactician | Team LANZ | Age 18 _________________________________________________The moment everything had been set up, Ariana had already shifted her stance and motioned towards the group which were being held at bay before Cora had questioned her. The spectral dragon slowly descends upon them with an eerie light illuminating the ground the closer it drew. The sky turned a deep shade of flickering blue before the combined form of Soul Flicker struck the ground in the center of the group, targeting the one which was trying to move aggressively towards the group. It tried to avoid, but being distracted by the team's attacks gave it no time to react before the draconic sphere exploded with tremendous force. Outright obliterating the beowolf in the forefront while those further out from the impact zone were severely injured and blasted out of the defensive safety of the trees. Ariana watched through the smoke and debris as Nia hooted out her observations. "Two eradicated, the other two severely injured and stunned. You should be able to make swift work of them on cleanup." Ariana stated as she moved to catch up with the team as they moved in to finish up the group. Soon as the team had finished off the two which had managed to survive, Ariana smiled as Nia fluttered down and landed upon her hand. "Good girl Nia." The Argyle shield reverts form and she puts it away within her coat. "Very well done everyone." She looked to everyone with a soft smile before looking at the crater which she'd left behind. "We had best vacate the area soon as we've rested, I'm afraid my semblance lacks... subtlety..."_________________________________________________ OOC: Sorry this post isnt the best, i typed up a decently large post right before this one and my eczema is flaring up, its becomin harder to type >.<

Iris KenmasutāRansurotto: [Inactive] [Active] Achilles Shield: [Inactive] [Active] Dust capsule: [Fire:1] [Water:2] [Wind:1] [Lightning:2] [Earth:2] [Ice:2] [Poison:2] [Darkness:2] [Light:2] [None] Semblance: Supporting Enhancements (strong); [Inactive] [Active] [Attack to: ], [Defense to:]. [Speed to:], [Health to:], [Special attack to:], [Special defense to: ] Equilibrium (weak); [Inactive] [Active] [Healing to: ], [Replenishing to: ] Watching how the elysian dragon devour the Beowolf brought an odd seance of wonder to Iris' eyes. Like watching the judgment of a higher power called down upon the soul lived full of sin. It was something both beautiful and unnerving. "Two eradicated, the other two severely injured and stunned. You should be able to make swift work of them on cleanup." Iris smirked, killing the flames which emitted from her shield, and then turned to her other teammates, Cora & Danny. "I'll go for one while the two of you go for the other!" Rushing past her friend and with a fire for the fight, Iris ran at the first Beowolf which had noticed her in order to neutralize it. She retracted her shield, no longer feeling a need for it, and with a spin of her lance she blocked the lunging strike the Grimm had attempted. They were face to face now, the Beowolf taking its footing and Iris holding off the down pressing claw of the beast, and the sound of sharp edges grin at the ears. The Beowolf let a furry of swipes at the five foot, five inched island girl but with her slender physique she was able to duck, slide and flip away from all the claws. With the world facing right side up again Iris had seen her moment to strike while in mid flip and took a large leaping step to the Beowolf, stabbing it right in the chest before it could wind back its claw to slash again. The Beowolf had been careless. It thought Iris to be a week little maiden in distress but truth showed in the way her leg now blocked one of it's lanky arms from being able to move well in there current stances and the other arm being too far to have swung in time saved him in the first place. Clever little witch.
"Very well done everyone! We had best vacate the area soon as we've rested, I'm afraid my semblance lacks... subtlety..." "At lest it was pretty!" Iris chimed as she walked back to Ariana. Without being told to Iris began using her semblance on Ariana, hoping she wouldn't mind, and surly began replenishing Ariana's aura with her own. "I'm not sure if your semblance took a lot out of you but It would be wisest to be sure you were could use your Soul flicker right away again." Ariana's power was mighty, that was sure, but Iris worried for Ariana to consistently use such force throughout the forest. They were a team and as such Iris was more than willing to pull her own weight during the fighting. She was a warrioress after all; she tried reminding as her double ended lance snapped after being retracted into its passace iron bar form.
"Danny!" Iris called out to her teammate after seeing the last Beowolf fall tot he ground; thanks to the others. "Bring your butt over here! I'm wanna make sure it's fine. Iris, for whatever reason, felt that Danny might try to be joking about her words and so as hard as she tried to hide a smile and be serious her face betrayed her as soon as Danny neared her. Dang, and she was almost sure she wouldn't have thought what she said was funny too had they not have that random first meeting; remembering about it made her cheeks shy with embarrassment.
"Cora, could you come over here as well." Many study how to fight on her home island. Iris always seen the training ground busy, the shooting ranging bustling and the forges always warmed with the fueled fire but something she didn't see to often was a shield. Shields were looked as week in the eyes of the islanders. There was no need for one if you're able to kill in one strike...Iris always felt that was a dumb belief. Everything in life is unpredictable, but a shield you know is predictable like it's not gonna leave, it is going to protect and it won't hurt something on its own accord. To Iris there was a sort of comfort in that thought and in the feel of picking up her shield every time. She wished others sometimes were like shields; that they won't hurt someone on its own accord, that they would protect and that they would never leave. "I would like to check you for damage. Also...may I look at your shield? I-I'm a fan of metalwork a-and admired yours a lot during that scrimmage."

Daniel Redmond Crane Danny nodded as he and Cora were told to take care of one of the Grimm. The Faunus boy waited for it to approach, then rammed it square in the chest with his helmet and crashed the beast into a tree. Pulling back, Danny sent his front legs crashing into the Beowulf's stomach, stunning it and signaling Cora to finish it off.
At Iris's call, Danny couldn't help but make a joke at her expense. "I'm flattered, Iris, but my a** is usually incredibly fine...unless of course I have to worry about the possibility of butt-rabies. Not sure if girls would be into that. I could play it off as a battle scar and retain my street cred, though." The centaur teased. He came over to her, as requested. Hopefully, it wouldn't form a scar at all. As a centaur, he was incapable of wearing pants, so a Beowulf sized bite mark on his rear end would be impossible to hide. No one would ever take him seriously again. Also, no girl would go for a guy with permanent bite marks on his a**, even if Danny wasn't a horse.

She teased the pony boy before poking where the Beowolf had bitten him; no wounds at all thanks to Iris' healing capabilities. "At any rate, you've got to have a tattoo like mine if you want to earn street cred Danny. Representing your clan with pure ink is how you get respect." The island girl winked with fake smug, tough girl attitude. Honestly her 'act' was horrible, she too nice to fit the role, but at lest talking with everyone was going so smoothly. Iris was worried about being in a new team after what happened to her last one...but this was an omen for things to come, thought the hopeful island girl to herself.

Daniel Redmond Crane Danny scoffed playfully as Iris mentioned clans and ink. "I don't really have an official clan, so that's out the window. Also, don't try to sound tough, Iris. You're too sweet to start acting like a Yakuza, or something." He began. "Plus, if our little river incident proves anything, it's that you aren't exactly keen on showing off that ink you're bragging about. Maybe if it were on your arm, or something, you'd actually have a point." He joked. How these two could carry on like this in the middle of a fight was odd, but endearing. It meant they had gotten along well. Danny poked at the girl because he respected her enough to joke with her. He was glad he ended up on a team with her after the reassignment thing.

"Whatever Danny, you'd just better watch your 'fine' a** or else you'll find my boot kicking right at it!" She didn't really have a comeback for Danny, he totally had a point. Why oh why did the Kenmasutā need to have such a flashy insignia?

Daniel Redmond Crane Danny smirked. "Y'know, quoting me only helps my point, but it's nice to know how much you enjoy my backside." He joked, winking at her under the helmet. s**t, that didn't work. "You probably didn't see that, but I winked at you to be a smartass." He added. Oh, Danny...the old Crane charm never failed to amaze...or annoy.

It was soon after it was evident that her semblance wasn't needed anymore that the glimmering energy around the shield and that formed the wall dissipated. Cora's stance slowly relaxed, but only after the last of the beowolves were taken care of. She had to focus a little more intently on keeping herself upright jut for a few moments as her energy redirected itself back to normal operations instead of being focused outward in such a drastic manner. Her shield was silent, yes, but it was no small feat making something ethereal a solid and active participant in a fight.
It was Iris' voice that stirred her from her head. She turned and walked toward her. Her shield was still open, and at Iris' subtle request, Cora turned her arm over so that the bronze-dust defensive weapon could be studied. She didn't remember taking on any injuries in that fight. Then again, it had unfolded fairly quickly. ~~*~~

Iris thought to her self as she felt out played by the cheeky pony boy and decided it would be best if she'd let him have this win. Anything she say right now isn't helping her one bit. But that doesn't mean she won't try kicking his rear end later, like she said she would. Maybe a sparing match after this mission...
As Cora near Iris the island girl released her aura to heal the guardian but to her surprise the stardust aura simply tickled the girl before returning to Iris. Since there wasn't any wound the aura instead massage Cora's muscles to keep her limber and ready. "Your shield is so shiny!" Iris smiled as she gently placed her hand upon the shield, feeling the resonance of dust particle within the metal. "It was made by finely tuned hands. It must have taken a lot of detail to incorporate so much dust into it." She then raised a brow as she noticed something about the shield itself, barely seeing this detail due to how there was a sliver of a pause in the reflection of the light. "Can this weapon change shape?"((OOC: ))

(( Sorry for the delay, I'll post here very soon, I sort of fell into a bit of a rut, feel free to continue without me and I'll have Ariana chime in soon as I'm back into the swing of things. She's easy enough to side-control, she's probably distracted with a book again with Nia directing her and on alert))

Cora couldn't bring herself to maintain eye contact, feeling herself caught between feeling flattered and a bit bashful of the attention that was given to her handiwork. In response to the question that had been posed, Cora nodded slightly and turned her attention to the shield. By turning her wrist about a certain way and by applying pressure to a lever with her other hand, the shield began to move about. The arc just over her knuckles remained stationary, but the rest of the edge that belonged to the shield folded together. The center turned itself over and about, collapsing as though to mimic the wrist-guard that was more commonly seen. This clicked into place to support the arc and if one looked closely, they could see the threads of a condensed and very strong dust that acted like a projectile. It wasn't an explosion, but the product was enough to launch darts of dust at a target.
Essentially, this weapon was a round shield and a crossbow that was found in an arm guard.
Cora wondered if she had already showed this function to Iris, but she couldn't properly remember when such an instance might have arisen. She cleared her head of this thought.
"It was a lot of trial and error."
And many, many hours. ~~*~~

_________________________________________________"Pretty..." Ariana repeated softly to herself Nia nestled herself upon her shoulder. "I suppose they are..." She never quite understood her own semblance, the fact of the matter was, while it appeared she controlled it, it felt almost as if they responded to her will rather than being in control. Almost as if the entities created by Soul Flicker were actually sentient much as Nia was. She glanced up at the sky for a few moments only to see a cat-like form descend from the sky with a man upon it's back until they were out of sight behind the treeline. Another student she assumed and thought nothing much else of it as she turned her attention to the group as they bantered about various subjects. Without saying much Ariana started moving slowly in the direction she believed She had offhandedly spotted a waterfall during her descent into the forest, likely between the time of turning a page she had glanced up momentarily. Though she paused and turned to face the group, shifting her weight a bit as she thought about her own weapon. Typically students crafted their own weapons, it was basically a right of passage, of sorts. She however inherited her mother's weapon, in truth despite her wealth of knowledge, she had no idea how to craft her own weapon. Let alone understand the intricacies of her own Argyle Coil. If something were to happen to it, would she even be able to make the necessary reparations? This fact caused her to shudder lightly, Nia clicking and nuzzling her neck to give her comfort.

Iris smiled while talk with Cora and it was because she recalled her first attempt where she ended up making a lumpy axe. "I remember asking for a lot of help when I made Ransurotto & Achilles Shield, and that was after a lot of trial and error. Your shield, it's so stunning in the way it's not only a shield with a razor edge but a shield with the option of attacking at a range." With Cora's shield being glinted in the sunlight Iris' eyes happened upon the solitary girl with silver hair. Royalty metal shielding a noble heart. There was a feeling of mystique surrounding Ariana in the eyes of the islander girl. A sad undertone underneath the ivory beauty. Iris wanted to be brave and ask Ariana so many questions about her, to get to know her better, but couldn't find herself able to. There was something about this girl...But then again Iris' imagination might simply be running wild.
Ariana mentioning the waterfall before walking on Iris naturally fallowed the silver haired girl, to her right but not too close. With Danny and Cora surly beside them, Iris had noticed Ariana's slight shiver and inquisitively tilted her head."Thought of something spooky just now Ariana?"((OOC: Let's bring Team ACID back to life!))

Daniel Redmond Crane Danny was also a bit impressed by Cora's shield. It was a useful weapon, especially in the hands of someone like her. "That's a pretty cool weapon, but it probably wasn't as crazy to build as my Pyro Jack. I started twelve forest fires, two dust explosions, and fifteen anti-Faunus riots before I finally finished making this helmet." He said, remembering the rather hectic process quite vividly. He did all this on accident, mind you. He only meant to burn things when the situation called for it.
