Apparently in a secret level of the second game...they might be suggesting that Slender man is actually a missing child...?

Also in the second game Slender: The Arrival...Slendy has a proxy named Kate. Kate was a normal girl, and assumed to have been the protagonist of the original game, until she was caught and made insane by the Slender Man. Her friend CR, however, was killed by the Slenderman for attempting to find his identity out.
Slendy...what makes you choose your proxies? Why Kate in particular?
