Arannis looked worriedly out the doorway again, then put a hand to the wall, and the entire structure began to glow a faint purple.
"Do hurry... It seems I was right, after all......"

Rubelia blinked at the sudden hue of purple her home took on,but dismissed it.She continued packing her bag.
" I see... well I'll be out in a moment anyways."

Arannis opened a silver portal between them.
"You first, when you're ready... it's easier to sustain from the entrance."

Rubelia slung the pack over her shoulder and gave the portal a look
" Are you sure this is safe...? "
Rubelia looked at Arannis then back at the portal
" It probably is..." She said has she walked into the portal.

Arannis stepped through a moment later, appearing next to Rubelia about four miles south of the entrance.
"And about the house... I had to create a scrying block, so that we couldn't be traced. Sorry for not explaining that earlier."

" Seems reasonable. "
She scanned the open feild they were transported too. She turned towards the forest
" If my memory serves me well, We must cut through that forest to get to the nearest village, though I'm not quite sure."

"Navigation never did me all that well on my own, with me being a trans-dimensional mercenary."
His chuckle was sincere.

Rubelia shook her head and walked into the underbrush of the forest.
" I belive we want to keep going straight until we hit a river..."
She pushed back a branch and kicked down some thorns.
" ...As far as I know."

Arannis stood back a moment, smiling slightly, then put out his wings, taking a knee.
"Maybe it would be easier if you saw from above? It's been my experience that an all-knowing view would help significantly more than one from the ground."

Arannis indicated his back.
"Climb on, then... and keep your hands low, so you don't draw as much wind resistance. Something I learned... quite a while ago, when I tried this the first time."

Rubelia tried to climb on as gently as possiable, and wrapped her arms around his chest

"Better than I was expecting, to be honest."
Arannis put up a hand to her wrists, and brought them down as low on himself as he could without putting too much effort in, so as to avoid paining her.
"I hope you're ready."
He took flight, hovering for a moment or two before lifting them some twenty yards above the forest canopy. He leveled out, affording Rubelia a bird's eye view.
"So, I'd recommend just dipping a shoulder to navigate, since flight hinders hearing. For now, which way?"
