"That's fine. So is there anywhere or any place in particular that you would like to visit first?" Akira asked as she lead him away from the bar, carefully calculating the time and distance from on place to another and the shortest routes to get there.
"Ha ha, alright old man, I believe you." Shigen mused taking another sip of his own drink. "I wouldn't worry about Ellie, she's just enjoy herself in a way that only she can. Then again, I do worry about her health." He chuckled.

Xev shook his head.
" I have not been out like this is many years. I would not know where to begin. Why don't you lead the way?"
" Fun comes at a price sometimes...a dreadful price...anyways whats shaking down in Halloween town. Any ghoulies stalking around?"

Akira took a moment to think of places where they could go and that she could show him. "I suppose I could show you the main monuments and some of the best stores. If you're interested in a good beer or drink I suppose I could show you the best places with the best prices." For a fifteen year old, she knew much about the city, even the bars which would seem unusual for anyone.
Shigen shrugged and leaned back in his chair. "Not that I've heard of. I caught wind of a few weres and vamps crawling around the place but they have been taken care of already. I haven't seen any good action in about a month."

" Taken care of already!? That's the 3rd time this week son. Ever since about 5 years back I reckon, you guys have barely been doing any work. Almost like someone else moved in on your territory. All thought I can't complain since you guys are in here more often. The bar used to be pretty quiet before Ellie began frequenting it."
" I'm not much for alcohol Akira, but I would be interested in seeing the human achievements of architecture around here."

"Yeah, I figured as much," Shigen grumbled finishing off his beer. "Soon I'll be out of a job and one that pays a lot too. next thing you know, I'll be the one being hunted down." He rolled his eyes and sighed.
"Fine by me, most bars that I walk by just happen to have trouble stirring. This place isn't the greatest town in all the state. I've actually just barely avoided three of them this week," Akira lead Paul down one of the main street roads. "This is the monument to the town's founder. He was a famous guy who built over top of an ancient city once abandoned a long time ago. Since then it has prospered, in a sense..."

" This is getting ridiculous Shigen. Whoever this guy is taking up your job, he needs to be rubbed out. Taking work from hardworking honest red blooded Americans."

'Don't you think I know that?!' Shigen thought angrily while on the outside he kept composed. "It doesn't matter now anyways. We're being relocated to somewhere in the Southern Slums. There'll be many more jobs and cases to take on down there." Shigen wiped his face with the palm of his hand and leaned forward. He then pushed the chair out and stood up, pressing one hand into his jean pocket. "I think I'm going to go out for a little bit." He patted the old man's shoulder, "take care, don't drink too much."
"It's sort of funny... originally it was a closed community, you know like those people farms way, way back? It was an occult sort of thing or some sort of farm family with at least two hundred occupants. Then, mind you this was before our little government fall out, the government intervened and broke up the cult. At least twenty years after a group of cannibalistic people moved in. Some people say they never actually left." Akira chuckled on the last line thinking it complete rubbish. "Sooner or later this guy came around, deemed the town abandoned and rebuilt the place. It's funny, the two actually is half old, half new, if you look at the bricks."

" Heh kid don't sweat it. Keep vigilant Shigen. Don't worry about me kid. One scotch is all i need to keep going. Poor Ellie on the other hand might be the one you should worry about. Catch you around kid."

Shigen nodded and picked up his fedora and placed it on his head before heading out the door. He walked around the side of the building and pulled out a smoke. He grabbed his lighter and lit it in his mouth, taking in a deep breath. He then took it out and held it in his hand.
Akira turned to look at him and smiled slightly. "I'm not sure, but they had settled down here for a little bit. They could have been mistake for vampires or werewolves but you just can't be sure, can you?" She shoved her hands in her pockets and started walking down the street. "I'll show you the park next I suppose."

Bron took another sip from his scotch. Leaning forward on the bar to reflect on his life like he did every night.

"What lies have hey been feeding you while trapped there?" She muttered under her breath. "No, that's what they want you to think." Akira sighed knowing she would have to go deep into the politics of this thing. "It started a long time ago, 2009 or something. Let's say... a national conspiracy broke loose while Obama was president. It was about the war in Iraq that president Brush had started. If I'm wrong, please correct me by the way. Anyways, after careful and lengthy deliberations and reintroduced evidence was found to support the idea that the Twin Tower incident was caused by the government, not by terrorists. This sent most of the American population into a frenzy. The United States were forced out of the war and pretty much isolated for inflicting pain and suffering world wide. After being cut off from the rest of the world a revolution occurred and the government was destroyed and finally we end up with what we have today. We have always had the issue of vampires of werewolves but it was thought of as myths until Central confirmed them. That's how it pretty much started."
Akira walked Paul over to the park and sat down on the bench. "It's a lot to take in I suppose. Anyways..." Akira paused for a moment holding her breath. "God damn it..." she muttered standing up. Her hand inched for a belt and a hidden, holstered gun. "We mgiht have just run into a few ghouls."
Shigen after taking his first and last drag, dropped the cigarette on the ground and smudged it out with his shoe. He let out a bit of a sigh as he stood there leaning against the wall.
Ellie had walked over to the bar and took up a spot beside good ol' Bron. "Howdy man," she chuckled as she tried to order another beer.

" Geeez. Even though you are young missy, pounding those drinks down like that. You got 4 stomachs or something?"
He smacked her in the back, laughing heartily.
" Aww come on I always give you trouble about your drinking Ellie. I'm surprised yer liver is still in one piece."
" Hmmm. Yes perhaps. I didn't really have much of a choice when central locked me away. I guess ti was better than being vivisected, tortured, and eventually killed."
Xev sniffed the air, almost like a enraptured animal. He knew he could take those creatures easily, but he didn't want the girl to see his true nature. She knew her way around monsters clearly, but he was something even monsters fled from. He ripped the metal leg off the bench as if it were tissue paper, and got ready to try and tear these beasts apart with just his combat skills.

Ellie smacked Bron in the back of the head as she swayed from side to side. "Are yah saying you want a fight or something? Cuz my liver could take on your...your entire body no problem!" she hiccuped, clearly she was not thinking straight.
Akira stared at Paul blankly as she watched him tear the leg. She was about to comment about public property when an animalistic creature darted out of the shadows at her. She drew her gun and with two shots the thing fell down, dead on the pavement. There was no hesitation. "Damn radical," she muttered holding the gun out. "There are bound to be more near. We should get going before they show up in a pack."

Xev shrugged when she gave him the look of disdain for damaging the bench. He was about to pounce on the creature, it's movements like a crawling turtle to his incredible reflexes. A few gun shots threw off his focus and the next thing he knew the creature he was after was dead. He stared at Akira, a look of shock on his face.
" I suppose you were trained by Shigen and Ellie how to shoot then? This is assuredly the first time I saw a 15 year old wield a weapon that well. Agreed, lets go, their scent is obnoxious, worse than zombies...probably taste worse too."
Bron laughed again, rubbing the back of his head.
" You are one mean drunk kid. You got too much ego in that skull of yers. Take a seat, talk, regale me with your latest mission for the night stalkers of legend."

Akira looked over at him and rubbed the back of her head slightly embarrassed. "There are many things I can't say I'm proud of, though you'd be surprised that neither of them taught me. Shigen has this thing.. he hardly uses guns of the sort while out on business. He does hold onto one though being quite the odd ball, he likes to carry around a scythe. Where he hides it or got it is beyond me. As for Ellie... well... I'm just not going to go there," she chuckled still holding onto the gun. "Anyways, you have a point there and I'd rather not use up the last of the silver."
Ellie rocked back and fourth not exactly sure what the old man was getting at. She decided to go with the flow and start to ramble on about one of their older and first missions. It was a doosy of a fight especially since both of them were new to the fighting. Then again they had been out numbered and in a bad spot.
