Zechs put down his book, "an Alien? Hmm, things have changed a lot... and yes, this is all I do, well, sometimes I sleep but most of the time I simply read, it is better than just sitting here and doing nothing for all eternity... you see I am an Android and I was sentenced here because... I guess you could say political differences with the established regime. I have been here for almost 56 years now and you can imagine it can get quite boring during that time." He smiled in amusement at his reflection on the time he had spent here, "I have read every book worth reading by now but I have deleted my memories of the ones I liked the most so I could enjoy reading them again."

Murk smiled,"Thats useful." She frowned,"Are all androids like you? Locked away and hated by humans?" She looked at all the books with curiousity. "Could you teach me to read since we have all this time together?" Her head felt dizzy as she hadn't noticed that ehr body was shifting to its normal look. Her large paws against the glass now. Her hair not hair but fur and it was a nice rich purple again. Her eyes returned slitted. She didn't care if it hurt her eyes to have them this way again she liked being herself and since she didn't have to fit in she was just fine like this.

"Androids are feared by humans because we are superior to them. They fear whatever they perceive to be a threat, that is why you are probably here. But most Androids are free, there was a war sometime ago to free themselves, but I was never released from prison because my Android brethren betrayed me...." He paused, thinking, he was always thinking.
"You seem to understand speaking English well enough, I suppose I can try to teach you." Zechs closed his book and then went over to a desk in his room. He opened one of the draws and removed a pad of paper and crayons and then he dragged the cold steel chair over to the window to sit across from her. He chuckled again, "after I took one of the guards hostage with a pen they took away all of my pens and pencis and other sharp objects... of course before that even happened they gave me a datapad for my books and writing, but I was able to reprogram that to open all of the doors in this facility." He chuckled at reminiscing at his previous escape attempts, "I almost made it out that time... but anyway, I digress." He drew on the pad for a bit and then turned it back to her. On it were around 60 characters, "these are all of the relevant letters and numbers that you will need to know. In English we have two different symbols for each letter. One is Uppercase and is for formality, and the other is Lowercase which is more common. We also have special character for Numbers or the Numbers can be spelled out in letters. There is also punctuation that helps to organize sentence structure. Do you understand what I just said?"

Murk listened to his escape attempts. Maybe he knew the lay-out of this place she figured she would have to take him with since they were surely monitored they might take away contact if she asked obvious questions like how thick the walls were or how long it took to boot it out of here. She would wait for such things. Right now she listened to his lesson soaking it all in, she looked at the paper and commited it to memory. "Alright yes I understand. We too use symbols for seperation and punctuation although they are more......elegant than this handwriting. My kind doesn't really have a writing we more or less commit things to memory and when we give birth our kids have what we deem the most important for them to have. Only woman can pass the memories on to the children inside them so we are well taught and have great capacities for remembering so don't worry I am more then capable of picking this up you will have to repeat little I assure you." They went on through whatever it was how could one tell night from day here? (Thought it was okay to time skip) But Murk had to sleep sometime and she knew it was at least morning outside because of the items they then brought her. She didn't eat the food right away although she was hungry for them. She stretched and made her nails for digging. She experimentally picked up her plate and heard a horrible screech as her nails left marks in the ground but not deep enough. It would take hours to get through five feet. She needed something stronger. Murk ate all her food quickly. Thinking of her nails becoming sharper stronger. She scraped the floor again quietly this time. It may have looked like she was bored. She was but this was important. Her nail dug in deeper with less effort. tShe wiped the dust off her hands and left herclaws that way. They didn't look diffrent on the outside but she had made them up of some matrial she wasn't sure of. Murk was sure they could be sharper and harder but the old familiar hunger was back. She sought to distract herself from it. "What are your favirotes?" She asked Zech.

Zechs was staring up at the ceiling lost in thought when Murk asked her question, "favorite what," he asked, not bothering to look over.

"Favirote books?" She smiled,"Are there ones about metal? About diffrent foods?" Thats what she needed. She knew her foods and what they had in them but human food was very diffrent. Maybe it hurt to shapeshift because of it. She needed the right foods if she could get that there would be no problem.

"Moby d**k, that is my favorite book. It is about a man who hunts a whale that destroyed his old ship and took his leg as well. The Captain hunts the whale like an obsession, and forgets all reason and in the end he dies because of his foolhardiness. I like it because it reminds me to not make the same mistakes as he did, to never lose my clear head in a conflict. The composed warrior is the warrior who will win. And yes, there are books on metals and food... why?"

"I have always been intrested in diffrent compounds on diffrent planets. This metal is not what we used. Its diffrent and foods are diffrent too I knew what was healthy on my planet I don't here. I figured reading that would help be stay healthy here. I need a lot of calcium ALOT of it to survive. I know some foods here and I have picked up a lot in english and everything else. Just not that. I use to eat whatever the gang brought home figuring they looked healthy enough that I would be fine with what they ate." Murk smiled,"They are probabaly dead for knowing too much less people on the world I suppose." Her tail swung in a steady beat side to side the spikes opened showing the three points that looked very sharp. She had to seperate them to hardern the matrial they were made of. More calcium would help with this process. She felt that pain again in the pit of her stomach. "I suppose you don't need to eat huh? How long did the last person last? How many have there been?" Murk was full of questions about him. She had to see if he was a fighter as well his escape attempts proved quite a bit.

"No, I don't eat. There have been 3 others in that cell before you since the time that I was here. The last one lasted nearly 10 years before he found a way to kill himself... I was sure he would break to take a breath of air before suffocating... If you want more calcium I would recommend drinking more milk, if that is still not enough then you can eat calcium supplement tablets. Also I believe you understand how to read enough to read your own books. If you request them they will give them to you. Even though we are in a high security prison we still have some rights."

"Ten years?" She didn't plan on staying that long. "Yes I think your right I can read pretty good now and if I have questions I will ask you." She requested lots of food books and things about minerals on the planet. It was a great way to send time. Meanwhile she made meat and milk her main worry. She ate alot of that. Gaining no weight as well. Murk made sure to exercise good so she would't become slower from the time in here. "You know what I miss the most?" She didn't wait for him to answer. "The feel of grass." Her tail was tense. Her tail looked diffrent then it had weeks ago. It was shiny almost metalic and very hardy looking. "Since yur not far from me I shall get to you too." She didn't explain her weird sentence until she quickly covered her body in slime. It would have to do for now to protect her from most bullets. She backed up and then with all her force she jammed her tail into the thick door going through it cleanly. Once on the other side she pulled her tail out and made another hole quickly. Big enough to jump through and she did jump through it very skillfully.

I was wondering when she would try that... Zechs thought to himself. He quickly got out of bed and went to the door to talk to her through it. "We will have less than a minute to hack into the mainframe to stop them from locking the place down, I can do that myself if I get to a computer terminal."
Already guards had noticed her escape and two were charging at her. They carried taser rifles that had limited range and hitting power but were meant to incapacitate an enemy with a powerful electric shock. They also had pistol sidearms but did not take them out of their holsters. "Halt!" one of them yelled at her while leveling his rifle at her.

Murks tail whipped about and ripped through two of them. "Main frame got it." She didn't like being rushed like this but she had no choice. Leaving her back for attack she ripped at his door for a moment and made a hole big enough for him to get through,"Hurry! Don't make me regret letting you out ever. You better have a spine to you still." The slime doing its job of holding up.

Zechs dove through the opening quickly and deftly like an acrobat and rolled to his feet. He ran over to the dead guards and removed their side arms and some extra ammo and tossed a set to Murk, "hope you know how to use that." And then he was moving again, very fast too. He led her to the control area for Level 9 and didn't slow down at all for her. The guards there were already preparing for a defense and this time they carried assault rifles. As soon as they saw Zechs come around the corner they opened fire, but Zechs was faster and 3 were dead before they could pull their triggers. Their bullets hit Zechs, and shredded his clothes and synthetic skin, but they simply bounced off of the heavy metal alloy beneath. In a moment the remainder of the guards were all dead. Zechs rushed into the control room and his hands rushed over the controls. He stood there, quickly going through the computer, hacking into their systems, and after about 20 seconds he was done and all of the doors were opening. "Alright, I have opened every door in the facility. That will create chaos everywhere which will help our escape. On the top level is a hangar, in it should be some small craft equipped with Hyperdrive Engines. We will escape in one of those. I have never used a Faster-Than-Light-Ship before because they were invented while I was in prison, but I have read about them and feel confident in my abilities to use one." He went over to another of the dead guards and removed his side arm as well, and stocked up on ammo. After holstering the side arms in a belt he stole from a dead guard he grabbed an Assault rifle. "We will have to do some fighting, they won't let us get away easily, but c'est la vie. You ready?"

Murk was able to keep up with him pretty well. She smiled,"I know how to work thier petty machines don't worry about that. Yes I am ready." She held the gun with a sigh,"Thier weapons are diffrent but I think I can manage." Her trigger finger had to become smaller so she could pull it. Murk looked him over for a moment, what a nice little machine. It was oddly appealing to her but now wasn't the time. She looked down the hallway and they saw her and with a lucky shot she got him right in the head. "I suppose I'm a faster learner then I thought."

Zechs quickly led her to an elevator at the end of the hall. When they got inside he swiped a keycard to activate it and then punched in the code and the floor he wanted to go to and the door closed and they started to go up.
