(From Training to Mess Hall)
Upon entering the cafeteria Neffis' stomach made a loud growl. "I could basically have a buffet today I'm so hungry." Neffis spoke, "I think I'll have a nice huge steak today with some potatoes on the side." Just thinking it made Neffis' mouth water. He immediatly grabbed his food and saw the others and began to approach them. "Looks like quite the party over here mind if I join?" he then took a seat and began to chow down. "So...What's up anyone have anything new to update on?"

Responding to Mike, Eli was a bit shocked to hear that Gabe had never eaten hicken, but decided not to press the issuse to much. Turning to Gabe, he says, "Well then my friend, you've been wronged," as he takes a large bite from the sandwich.

Responding to Neffis, he decided not to brag about his new power, despite the fact that if it weren't for the fact persona humans can't win the Nobel Prize for scientific discoveries made with their powers he could have possibly won one for proving that hard light can be produced. "Meh, not much really," he said with a hint of a smile on his face.

Gabriel, who was enjoying his hicken patty, lost his appitite when he heard that. He placed his food down."How could It be hit by a boulder?" he tried to ask as calmly as he could but his voice betrayed the fealings of loss."I mean how could mathias let that happen."

Upon hearing this news, Eli suddenly froze and found that his whole body had gone numb. "Mathias and Kiri..." he whispered softly to himself. Suddenly he slammed his fist down into the table in an uncharacteristic show of rage, "THAT"S IMPOSSBILE!" he suddenly shouted, "That can't be all there is to it! Mathias was too good a pilot for something like that to have happened!" And with that, he put his head in his hands and tried to calm himself down.

The High Counsel was silent and shrouded in shadows behind their bench. The quiet continued for a long time, long enough to be uncomfortable.

The Elder on the far right of the High Counsel's Bench said, "Jackson Burky," he said, "You are being allowed to join the New Earth Defense Force for you outstanding abilities in metal manipulation. We expect a lot out of you Mr. Burky." The Elder was then quiet and the Counsel waited Jackson's reply.

Mike made it to the roof and decided to put his new technique to good use. He aimed his hands up into the air with the wrists touching and the fingers slightly cupped.

He let a spark fly and began to fuel the flame. He focused on holding the fire together as it grew and he poured his rage into the effort, allowing him to hold much more of the flames together than he normally would be able to. The fire ball grew and grew. It grew to the size of a small hover car before Mike couldn't hold it anymore. Reaching his limits, Mike released the ball and it rocketed into the air and flew to a height of 100 feet before it fizzled out into nothingness.

Mike was still angry, but he was tired now from the strain he had put on his body and mind. He could never make that into a feasible attack, but it showed him his limits and let him dump out anger until it was manageable. Mike wasn't going to stand for this kind of injustice. He got back into the lift and went down to the administration level to hit up Brigg for more information on the crash site and any Daemon activity that might have caused this to happen.

'Eli's right,' Mike thought, 'Mathias was too good a pilot for this to have been an accident.' Mike brooded on the trip in the mag lift. It didn't help any, it just made him more angry.

Mike got the call on his wrist com and backtracked to Debriefing room 2. He stormed into the room and gave a quick look around the room to locate Chris and walked over to him and asked, very directly, "What do we know about this?"

He knew that Chris would know exactly what he was talking about.
