That would be interesting, I'd love to see that happen! 4laugh

Yeah, I guess yer right Mel. Mogs might be good for fantasy but maybe not so much on sci-fi.

Hey! Did you know that FFIII for the SNES is actually FFVI? That was cuz none of these games made it to America before the GBA age: "FFII, FFIII & FFV". So The FF known as II here, was actually FF IV. Go figure, eh? At least FFVI (not to mention the other ones) can be enjoyed by those who missed it on SNES if they have a GBA. I'd love to get all of them but I can't buy anything right now. cry

Ah yes, the dating scene of FFVII. There is a way to get them to go out with Cloud but you'd have to visit gameFAQs for that. I could post the data here but it's kinda long... rolleyes
I actually do have a file that has Yuffie going out with Cloud but I can't remember how I did it. I just followed the instructions on gameFAQs. 3nodding

Oh there's a lot about all of this. Final Fantasy VI in the UK is FFIII in the US, and FFIV over here is FFII in Japan. It's stupid and rather confusing.

Indeed it is! It's too bad it took them a long while to re-release the games so everyone could get to try them. I haven't been able to buy all the GBA games yet but I hope to do it one day.

Has anyone played Revenant Wings yet? The sequel to FFXII.
I'm finding it very engaging, but wish it was more RPG like. However, I do realise that Ivalice was originally a Final Fantasy Tactics world.

I want to get back into playing FFXI online. I can't afford it again yet, but when I get a job I want to. I never really played it much in the beginning to be honest. I couldn't find a group, and ended up playing with only one or two people at any one time. When I resume playing it, I must learn to be more patient with the system.

I sure haven't Mel. Is that game for the Nintendo DS by the way? Cuz if it is, I might just get it. So, you say it's like FFT then? If that's the case I might like it cuz I love FFTA and I'm saving up for when FFTA2 comes out. I am also looking forward to read more about this Revenant Wings cuz it did look good on a small preview I saw.

Right now though, I've been playing FFTA quite a bit. As I obtained another copy of it so I could trade or battle with myself and get more mythril items. Those are very hard to find on one's own. 3nodding

It's not the same as other tactics games though I don't think. I don't particularly like them, because I hate moving characters forward a few squares, then a few more, then a few more and only then be able to attack.

In Revenant Wings, there are no squares, and it's just as real-time as FFXII is. It's just top down and you have to use and summon countless espers to do battle with you. The game system works, and I actually got quite engrossed in it.

You could call it a sequel to FFXII and I suppose it is really, but it centres on Vaan being the sky pirate he always dreamed to be and he travels to the sky continent called Lemures (accent over the second e) where the winged people, the Aegyl live. You're presented with the task of stopping other sky pirates from harming the Aegyl and stealing what's called "auracite" which is evidently another evolved form of magicite like nethicite is. Auracite comes from large crystals called Auraliths. The entity known as the Judge of Wings wants to, guess what, control the world and is trying to gain the power from the Auraliths in order to do so - no surprises there. It's pretty much Vayne Solidor all over again, only this time this is a Judge, she's not related to the Archadian Empire and she has armoured wings - thus being given the name, Judge of Wings.

I generally thought the game was going to follow on from the end of FFXII, but it doesn't seem to really - at least not at the moment and I've played the game for a good few hours now.

What systems can take Revenant Wings? That all sounds very intriguing!!

DS. Not quite your gaming system. smile

I'll show you when you're up for AnimeBoston.

Yeah, like Jasta said, it sounds good. I suppose when it comes to plots, they can't think of anything other than someone wanting to take over the world, huh?
And Hod is right, the Nintendo DS is the only system where the game has been released so far.

Darn... I don't have a DS. Yet. smile

I have been in FF mode lately. I spent way too many hours (but happily!) last night reading a superb fanfic from the AC universe:

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2922068/1/Turkish_Delights

Takes place just after he leaps off the building firing at the Jenova box in FF:AC... VERY interesting story. He takes his own life and the Lifestream rejects his death... sending him back, with memories intact, to the year he turned 12. AU, but OMG so very intricate and strong a story... if you're not into yaoi you might want to either take a pass or read past all that because the tale is worth it.

*starts plotting ways to get a DS without going broke...*

Jasta, if you're in a Final Fantasy mood, fork out for an Xbox 360 and buy Lost Odyssey. Sakaguchi is a legend!

Hey Jasta, I'm not trying to contradict Mel here but I'd get a DS first cuz, not only it's much cheaper, it has a lot of cool things also (not to mention games). I love the touch screen and the microphone! Not to mention that the few games I have for it are so worth it. And I am itching to get FFT for DS (yes, I realize I keep bringing this up so if it's getting annoying, I apologize). sweatdrop

LOL! Well, it's nearly tax time in the US (might get a refund...), AND I'm due a bonus from my job, so maybe I'll go totally looney and buy both. I am a FF nut of the first water and would love to have my own copies of ALL the games, and be able to play them all from start to finish.

Of course, I also need to get a new bike this year because I really need more exercise... I'd get that if I rode a bike the three miles to the farm where my horse lives. smile

Final Fantasy is still great, but it's not AS great as it was.
If you're looking for THE Final Fantasy feel, it has to be Lost Odyssey I'm afraid.

Refer to the Lost Odyssey thread for FF-related Sakaguchi goodness.
