Apollo deftly caught the sugar cube and then moved up to nuzzle the stranger, wondering why he was trying to leave.
Direa heard Apollo moving, but wasn't sure where the stranger was.

Apollo gave a small sound of dissapointment but quickly got over it and went to lay down behind his boy so Direa could lean against him.
Direa pulled a blanket over the both of them and fell asleep.

the night was cold and came to be wet in the morning at the peak of dawn. A small pool formed and creatures appear to drink from it almost immedeatly for it was the only water they would get all day.

Direa awoke with a start as Apollo shivered the dew off of himself. He gave a small laugh and moved toward the sound of running water after pushing the blanket completely onto Apollo.
As he reached the edge of the river he sniffed the air, recognising the smell of salt water. He moved his hands warily and felt a large ball of water lift out of the river as his magic sifted all the salt out of it. It took quite a while before all the saltyness was gone from the water, but when it was Direa had a ball of water that was ten times the size of the one he had been playing with the day before.
He reached out his magic for yesterday's water and pulled it into the newly purified water for him and Apollo to drink.

The noise made by the snake caused Direa to wave his ball of water to a safe place where it could hover without being disturbed. Apollo stayed far away from the snake, but Direa moved closer.

A pair of eyes watched the water ball and the boy from within a sand dune across the river. A raven from a tree by the river aswell watched the boy. The snake ate a mouse and slithed away towards its den.
