I once read a news article where His Holiness had a list of Instructions for life:
"Follow the three "R's". Respect for your self. Respect for others. Responsibility for all your actions."
"Live a good, honourable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll be able to enjoy it a second time."
"Share your knowledge. It's a way to achieve immortality."
"Be gentle with the earth."
"Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it."
Those are wonderful instructions. They're much better than those commandment thingies.

Well, it turns out that there are guided meditations on Thursday evenings right in the town I work in! The organization that runs it is a "...member of New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union. This tradition is an international Mahayana Buddhist organization founded by Buddhist Master, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. The Center offers the study and meditation programs of Kadampa Buddhism..."

I've starting meditating on my own again, BTW.

Wow that's interesting to hear.
Well done with meditation on your own.
Personally, I find it hard to make time to meditate and the times I really need to do it are when I'm the most tired or confused and I really can't be bothered. I also get very frustrated with meditation if I don't come out of it feeling relaxed or re-energised.
I have been reading a "How To Meditate" book and it says that there are no bad sessions of meditation. That any form is better than none.
