Contra mundus SoViEtTaNkT34 Contra mundus SoViEtTaNkT34 Moment of Schumpter, Althusser and Hoxha. Thumbs up for the first two. The last one gets a.... neutral .........hmmmmmmmm...... lmao Come on Hoxha with Religion..... who cant agree with ******** YOU RELIGION scream BURN THE CROSSES BURN QUARANS BURN BIBLES!!! BURN BURN !!! *Person Wearing Cross* <.< scream *shoots* heart Hoxha's religious policy... thats a way to deal with religious ideology wink But here comes Kagerou with big old buddah to ruin my Hoxha fun time..... She's a work or something else.... In addition you need to stop getting on when I'm off Kagerou! You know what I'm talking about! Shoot, I manage to ignore a thread for a whole week... and of course people are talking about me in it. And you're always off when I'm on! I blame this on a society that makes me choose between playing and sleeping because the rest of my time is taken up by work! I suppose I could play at work... but I know the tech people can watch what goes on at my computer when they feel like it from a room far away. So perhaps I'm slightly skittish. ..where was I... ...oh yes. I'd never go after you over religion, Curt. I have no idea what you mean. ninja

The Leninator! ValentineWiggin Steven Hawkings ValentineWiggin The Leninator! No no I get your general idea and you say that we are born good and evil and choose our destiny and which side we go to. Which is exactly what I said, humans have desires but that doesn't mean our nature is to choose them. You said humans have different desires, meaning that there is no inherant human nature, not all humans desire peace, not all desire war, not all desire chaos. Again, I agree, and all omnivorus or carnivorous animals have the ability to kill, we learned to back when we all hunted but at this point in time you couldn't go up to the standard American and starve them then put them near a gazelle and see them live for the next week. You say all people are different, with different desires- I say the same thing- there is no inherant want of all people (aka human nature) for one thing or another, everyone wants the obvious things (food, water, shelter) but not everyone wants things like war, peace, love, hate, death, or anything at all. Welcome to existentialism comrade. ok so we were both saying them same thing in a diffrent sense of termonology. If thier is a god he's one twisted ******** xD Human existance is just one choatic mess. A God from the machines. In other words we create this thing, or idea. In fact there nerve was a, "God' in the sense the Bible or other books state. just us, I fought many God belivers on Gaia and I can say is they state the same thing over and over again. Ask them who is creator of the creators creator. If they pull God is finite say that zero hour nothing existed and if God existed outside of the universe he can't exist to us, or they will pull "It's turtles all the way up." Anyway humans think according to hat they see very young, if you see people hurt you could possibly be violent later in life or could be peaceful. people are different. Those who like science, history, and math could be a general or a scientist. Even social environment doesn't decide what they will be just what they might be. You can grow up seeing volience and not be volient, you can grow up never seeing volience and be volient, If you have to see volient to be volient, how could volience begin in the first place. Everyone sees violence, whether it be in real life or the tv or computer or videogames or newspaper or anything. Violence probably began in the first place with humans mimicing other animals and hunting, then using the logic that if they can use violence against animals they hunt then they can use it against animals they don't hunt. That or they saw a fight break out between a pack of animals and a light went off in their heads. I believe that most people are a product of their environment, but there are exceptions- but those people who have seen violence and not been violent are almost never that way out of some random impulse or what many people would call "human nature", they usually have someone who they knew who affected them in such a way that it countered the violent images that had shaped them. About god, yes most people who believe in god can't pull up any proof of a god much less proof of god being loving. At least nothing that makes him more loving then hating considering if there is a god then he chose for poverty, hunger, murder, drug addiction, the rich-poor divide, the holocaust, war, birth defects, disease etc. to be here. The great example is Why Won't God Heal Amputees? Look up "10 questions every intellegent christian must ask themselves" and watch the video and some others by that guy, it's quite interesting. Same with those who don't believe in evolution, while I can pull up proof of evolution and natural selection they cannot pull up anything disprooving evolution or prooving creationism or whatever else they think. To comrade Hawkings, have you ever heard of the Darwin's Finches experiment conducted by Rosemary and Peter Grant that prooves evolution over a rather short period of time? It's very interesting, I also recomend it to ValentineWiggin, I guarantee it'll at least make you question your ideas on evolution and Darwinism. See I've Read Darwin, and I dont really believe most of it, I do believe the obviously true things like Adaptation and Natural Selection, but on the other hand I think the Evolving in diffrent forms is, well, just plain stupid, evolving on a mental level, like a big percent of people becoming more intelligent, but in that sense we are currently de-evolving mentaly. I am not a believer in Evolution, Creationism, As for now I'm not sure what I believe as far as creation, but saying I dont have a religion is going against some of my philosophical beliefs which state: "Everyone you say who says that they have no religious beliefs is just so certain about their belief that they accept it as truth. If you just start asking probing questions, and they start getting mad, then you've found their religion." "Religion is tied to the deepest feelings people have. The love that arises from that stewing pot is the sweetest and strongest, but the hate is the hottest, and the anger is the most violent." -Children of the Mind (Orson Scott Card) ,and yes you may pull philosophy out of a fictional book. I guess I was athiest up until this week were some major life problems (I've had a really bad week) made me question my complete denial of a god, so I guess I'm agonostic now. Creationism is far from the truth though, I've read the bible cover to cover 3 times, and reviewed little sections more times than that, The Old Testement is mainly exaggerated Hebrew History, while the New Testment (excluding revelations) is in my opinion philosophy (with a story) telling you how you should live your life, they intermix sometimes (like the ten commadments fits in more with how you should live your life), Revelations and the story of Soddom and Gommora (xD Now I know I miss spelled thoose) are more along the lines "If you live your life the wrong way, this will happen.". That is only my way of seeing it, the original writers probably didnt intend on anyone seeing it this way, but I do. And by the way the Hebrews were a bunch of Nomads ******** animals/each other (anything that moves), so they needed guidlines (Ten Commandments) to keep them in line/Reporducing. Damn xD, I just started Rambling and Didn't even notice it.

We also close stores, believe in equal rights for the "uppity negroes and queers and them god damned Mexicans" and destroy the good ol' fashioned suburban family. We also build mind reading satalites and drink all the vodka.

Evolution is a gradual process over time as a species adapts to a environment, it's not the strongest that survive, but the ones that can adapt. Humans unlike most animals have no defense like lions with claws, powerful jaws ect. What we do have is intelligence, with it we can build tools to defend ourselves, make clothes to keep warm, hunt larger game with the help of others. While other animals do it also, we use a language unlike other animals. Also we were more social than any animal so far on this Earth, from this we made civilization. Also if you look back at the fossil records from home ereactius and others, you will see how the spin itself over time allowed us to stand upright, which allowed us to see over brushes and freed out hands up. As we ate more meat ours brains grew.

I'm not saying that Soddom and Gommora Didnt exist and werent destroyed (I saw a History Channel special on how they think it was actually destroyed), I'm saying that the story around it was used for both our reasons, yes to explain what happened, but also as a "this is what god will do to you if you live a life of sin".

Damn xD, I just started Rambling and Didn't even notice it.Soddom and Gommora were actual cities and they were destroyed by a volcanic eruption. Just they created a story around it, to make sense to people why it happened. People fail to see that the Middle East highly active geologically. "See I've Read Darwin, and I dont really believe most of it, I do believe the obviously true things like Adaptation and Natural Selection, but on the other hand I think the Evolving in diffrent forms is, well, just plain stupid, evolving on a mental level, like a big percent of people becoming more intelligent, but in that sense we are currently de-evolving mentaly." Evolution is a gradual process over time as a species adapts to a environment, it's not the strongest that survive, but the ones that can adapt. I believe that "The Strongest" doesnt refer to physical strength, but to many factors including Ability/Willingness to Adapt, Intelligence, and many others (Physical Strength may be a minor factor in it.). It never was about physical strong, since the smallest animals usually survive. Note that they can go through five generations in ten minutes.

I agree, I pull at least 1/4 of my ideas from Douglas Adams and Kurt Vonnegat alone. Vonnegat recently died which made me very sad. I love the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, one of my favorite books, never read anything in the rest of the series, not that I dont want to, but at the time I finished Hitchhiker's Guide, I found alot of other books that intreast me, Spent alot on books that day, still havent finished all the ones I bought, and my friends lent me the rest of the Ender's Game Series, so I got some reading to do xd My current reading list is pretty long as well, I'm finishing up An Introduction to Metaphysics by Heidegger, Swans Way by Proust, Notes From Underground by Dostoefsky (I'm reading it for the fourth time, it's my favorite book), and The Last Speeches by Malcolm X I've decided to committ myself to reading every book by Vonnegat that I set eyes on so I have a lot of work to do in that area, I'm also starting the Pre-Prison Writings of Gramsci, and beginning to re-read the Lord of the Rings series (I've been reading only heavy duty philosophy so I'm lightening the load so to speak).

How are Vonnegut books? I've never read them so I feel left out and bitter now that everyone is upset he died. Then again one of my favorite authors died and no one said s**t. Upsetting.
Anyways GRAMSCI! You know his prison writings were written on toilet paper, cloth and whatever material he found he could write on? That's some determination.
Anyways I'm hoping I'll someday get those.

I've found it's better to couple your philosophical readings with fiction anyways, and from leading s**t tons of Marx's letters to his father, future wife, and others, along with Engels doing the same when he was younger, they read just as much fiction as anything else (of course they didn't have TV, and when they weren't reading they were drinking or partying some how) it must do something because some of the stuff they forced themselves to read is just totally mind numbing.
For instance Marx mentions reading tons of old German legal code to contrast it to modern law which was mostly a mix of religious/roman law for his legal studies. If his quotations are any indication.. bleh..

I recall there was a new system that organized that in to a standard, but I can't recall the name of the legal phrase of it. Yeah reading fiction is good espicailly on physics and math. READ MORE OF IT PEOPLE OR I'LL CUT YA! SCIENCE IS COOL!

ValentineWiggin Commissar Xerovan Well, when I talked to my dad about it, he says that i'm crazy. I told him who i'll vote for when i'm older, and why I have communistic beliefs, but he said "Oh, it's never going to happen, so why believe in it ?" I don't care what he thinks really, it's my oppinion and my view on things, not his. I don't think my mom cares too much though, infact she's even intrested in voting for the CPB. "Who says its never gonna happen, who says its never gonna work?" And everytime I ask that question no one answers, and If they did I would just respond with "Well using that logic, democracy will never work, true equality will never happen, so why believe in that?" Sure Its not probible to work, but maybe one day we will evolve to a mind-set where it will work. (Just for the record I dont believe in the Theory of Evolution or Darwinism. I just meant to devolop to a new better mindset.) Why Fight for democracy?, Why Fight for Communism? basiclly the same question. I agree with you there. I have idealogical debates with my brother quite often, and he seems to think democracy works just fine. He's got views spanning from nazism (Although, I shoulden't call them views, so much as sympathies.) right up to communism. They're quite enjoyable, although his insistance that we have true democracies in Britain and the U.S. is quite annoying. Just because people can vote doesen't mean it's a true democracy.
