I personally think its Giovanni. its not impossible. Anime doesn't follow the laws of the human body like hair color. plus isn't the R/B/Y character based off Red? if anything yellow is based off ash because of the pikachu following you.

Also, I said that the punnet square hardly ever applies to anime, I just threw it in there for kicks =P there is alot more that disaproves Giovanni being Ash's father if you actualy read over my anime, manga and game argument under the same post.

You know, I always thought that Giovanni was Gary's father, even though the manga says that Gary's father and mother died. Hey, it's possible. I also think that if that's the case, Giovanni and Ash's father were once rivals as well. That would be an interesting trait to pass on/bring your kids up with.
I also always thought that Ash's dad was once a pokemon master who disappeared in an encounter with a mysterious legendary pokemon. Weirder still would be that little Ash saw it and was so freaked out that he can't remember. Bizarre, eh? That being said, I think that said father will show up again in a later movie.
I agree with the black hair thing, too. Makes sense. Just as well, anybody have any idea if, maybe, he inherited those z's on his cheeks from his father, too? That would be a big give away, if we ever came across anyone suspicious looking.

I never thought of a character I knew being Ash's father before. I thought it was always some guy that was never in the show. But for some reason, I imagine him with glasses, scruffy hair that's tied back into a short ponytail, and a explorer-type outfit on. >.>; I'm not sure where that image came from, but it's stuck in my mind as Ash's father.
