I like Sarah Brightman much better. Andrew Lloyd Webber originally wrote the music for Sarah Brightman, so it makes sense that she would be the better Christine. He wrote Christine's part specifically to be sung by Sarah Brightman. Emmy Rossum just bothers me.

Simply because he wrote the score for her doesn't mean she's the best Christine - it simply means it's been tailored to her voice and it was meant to show off what her voice was capable of.

....Which -is- your true angel of music?

And on a side note, it would be hanged if you're refering to a human. If it's a picture or inanimate object, then it would be hung.

Malbeur, his true angel of music is Sarah Brightman. And I feel very safe now.. as I won't be hung.

Well, there's another disparaty. I don't think Emmy's voice is very sweet at all... it's young, sure, but it's not sweet. To me, it sound forced. Sarah, however, especially on her high notes, just sounds like she's having fun. Emmy, however, screeched on the D sharp that wasn't even as high as it should have been. (I'm right, try it at home on your keyboards/pianos if you have them. it's a halfstep down)

I guess if Emmy had been cast at 20 instead of 16, I might be a little more happy with her.. but she's too young for Christine.

It's because her voice has not had time to mature. Yes, I would consider her voice very good for someone her age, but not for the role of Christine.

I wouldn't even call her voice good for her age... it's better than average, but she's been singing opera since she was 7. That's bound to have done something for it to have improved. If she were a regular musical student, I think her voice would be a bit more like any other soprano.

Supposedly singing opera since seven.. I would not be convinced with the pop-style slide she applied to every interval she sang...

Modern culture has its effect on every singer. And that's what a lil' biography of her I read said... I dun remember where it was. I think it was on the movie site, though.. I'll look for it tomorrow.. I mean, hehe.. later today. >.>

Well, as we've established... I didn't.

And furthermore, I missed this part: I didn't compare the two... Sarah Brightman was like... 25ish when she did Phantom. So there's an unfair age difference, sure. But still.. yeah. I just, don't like Rossum's voice as Christine.
