Marie wiped her eyes and ran to lunch. There were only a few minutes left... "Hi..." she murmered to Saro question , noting that Erik was next to Amanda like always. He was being weirder then ever.

"Hey. Are you okay?" she knew she was a vampire, and knew something was wrong. She sat down, finally free from reading. Some how she knew about Erik and Warren, she had a knack for figuring out who was what. She glared at both of them, then turned back to Marie.

Marie froze up inside- she had thought she seemed fine. Lowering her voice- she never knew who was a werewolf and listening, and they probably wouldn't be happy about those senior's arrests- she told Saro, "My parents were... were..." She swallowed, containing her tears, and continued, "...killed... last night." Blinking, she tried to smile and asked, "How are you today? What's up with... Erik?" Marie was never sure of the guy's name- Amanda didn't talk about him much with her.

"He's what?" Marie gasped, shocked. How out of it was she? And wait... if Erik was a... then Warren could be... no way. The tears threatened to spill and she wasn't thinking about her parents now. She didn't just want to cry out of shock or loss, though. Now she was angry. "He's... one of those... and he's been going out with Amanda? He could hurt her!" she whispered angirly, momentarily forgetting that she and Saro were a sort of a danger too.

Marie stood quickly, not daring to look in the boys direction. All this time she had thought they were human... and she had been so wrong. "Why haven't you told her yet?" she asked quietly.

"Haven't had a chance. What am I supposed to say? I don't think she even knows we're vampires. 'Amanda, you're bf is a werewolf'? Both Warren and Erik are lycans, which is one reason I always seem to be around them, to make sure they don't hurt Amanda. I'll tell her as soon as I can, but I'd rather you be near so I don't seem insaner than I am." She said, her voice low. She had led them outside, where most the students were walking around the track, waiting for the bell to ring, signalling lunch was over.

"I'll stick around for sure," Marie said, still quiet. Her eyes were vacant and she felt lost. "Thanks for telling me, Saro. Now things.. make a lot more sense."
Things like how weird Erik was. And maybe this was part of why Warren hated her... if he felt anything at all about her. Maybe he knew what she was and hated her for it... Marie shook thoughts of him from her head. Amanda was the one needing help right now, not her.
"You're right," she agreed. "It won't work if you just go up to her and tell her that; she'll think you're crazy. Besides, it's kind of obvious who she values most..." Marie trailed off. She didn't spend enough serious time with Amanda to be saying things for certain like that...

"Mr. Sance."
"Huh?" He turned around; it was his next teacher, Mr. Onaris.
"A word with you in my room, after school. Don't worry, you aren't in trouble."
He then walked off, in the direction of Warren, Erik noticed vaugely...
And then the bell rang, of course. "Dang," said Erik, "Gotta run..." he got up and started running- literally- to take his tray to the front and then himself to the exit.

Marie looked at the ground. "He hates me anyway," she muttered. The bell rang and she was glad for it. "Let's hurry to Art! I feel like painting something red... really red." She tugged on Saro's hand, eager to get back to Amanda, school, and the life that had no problems.
