The first person to awaken (about a day later) is Keitaro. He finds himself and his comrades lying off the side of the road, near the forest. Everyone's wounds have been treated with herbs and spiderwebs and bound with leaves and vines. The worst of their injuries appear to have been magically healed.
All of their possessions are lying not far off, along with the magled bodies of Althea's would-be kidnappers. Keitaro catches a glimpse of what may be a wolf and may be a woman slinking away through the trees.

Keitaro's head swam, still hazy after the battle and the subsequent sleep. Still, he was alert; he had seen movement in the trees. A woman with a wolf, he thought. Or, perhaps a woman who was also a wolf; such concepts weren't foreign to Keitaro.
Acting quickly, Keitaro cast about the surrounding environment until he found what he was looking for. Sitting in the tall grass at the base of a tree, there was a lithe, glistening, blue-tailed lizard. Keitaro stepped closer, his eyes locked on the smooth form of the reptilian body. Then, when he was a respectful distance from the creature, Keitaro stopped and dropped into a respectful bow.
"Hello, little friend. My name is Keitaro, most blessed child of the Sasaki family, one who carries with him the authority of the dragon lords, your masters. Speak to me, if you can," Keitaro whispered, his voice sounding inhuman as it silkened from between his lips. It was a unique ability, based in the heirarchy of life held sacred by the people of his homeland.
It was said that dragons, being the highest order of scaled beings, ruled over all other scaled animals of lower orders. Everything from fish, to snakes, to salamanders. Through his bond to the dragon lords, Keitaro sometimes had access to this ability, though not often to the extent he would like.
Indeed, Keitaro cast a wary glance at his companions; while they had always accepted his eccentricities, he knew that it was only because there was much they did not know about him. Many of his abilities were still a mystery to them (not to mention to Keitaro himself), and Keitaro was not sure he was ready to reveal the extent of his power. To that end, he hoped to have his conversation over and done with before any of the others awoke.

At this point, Althea is beginning to awaken.
The lizard flicks its tongue in hesitation, then answers. "Speaking."
Althea sat up, holding her head. The first thought that popped into her head was that she had to make sure her companions were okay. She looked around her immediate area and saw that someone was missing. It was only after her initial panic that she noticed Keitaro so far away.
She gave him little though, however. The safety of her comrades was much more important. She set to work inspecting everyone to make sure they were okay.

Keitaro smiled warmly at his small, reptilian friend. "The girl who was just here, the one who was not quite human, what can you tell me about her? What did she do for us, what did she do to them?" Keitaro asked his questions slowly, then waited patiently for the lithe lizard to reply. Behind him, he could hear his companions stirring, but was positioned so that no one could see the lizard to whom he was speaking, nor could they likely catch his whispered words.
His eyes focused on the lizard, he waited for the reply.

The lizard makes a great effort to search for the right words, which is quite nearly more than its primitive brain can handle. Day-to-day reptiles just don't have the capacity dragons do. After ten minutes or so of struggle, he is able to convey to Keitaro (speaking to him with a secretive reverence toward the woman) that he's been watching the woman on and off all day and that he has seen her coming and going to check up on the party. As far as what happened a day ago when the party was first knocked unconcsious, he has no clue. He wasn't in this part of the forest at the time.
Gwaerandir is now awake.
Althea finished looking over all of her comrades and, seeing that they were all quickly healing, headed toward the area where all the "bad guys" had been layed out.
"What on earth has happened here?" she said to herself as she examined them.

Keitaro smiled once more at the serpentine form, before dropping into another respectful bow. "I am grateful for your assistance; for your services, you shall be rewarded," Keitaro said. The lizard inclined his head ever so slightly, in what Keitaro could only imagine to be a nod, before slipping quietly up the bark of the tree and into the green tangle of its upper branches.
Well, that was one mystery solved. Keitaro knew that the girl he had seen was, in fact, not interested in doing to them what she had done to the bandits. Indeed, he knew that there was something special about her by the way the lizard seemed almost reverent towards her. But, somewhere deep down, Keitaro knew that until the girl was ready to be seen, none of the party would have a chance to interact with her, and so he set the matter aside. Time enough to worry about her identity when she chose to reveal it; for now, she was their silent partner, interested only in their well-being.
Keitaro made his way back to his group and, when he arrived back near the center of their "camp," he regarded them all once more with his characteristic serene expression. He did not bother to check his wounds, knowing they had already mostly healed, and he did not bother to inspect the bodies of the bandits. Instead, he sat down quietly, legs folded, hands in his lap, and began to meditate. Perhaps he might be lucky enough to contact one of his dragon elders and convey his wishes that the tiny lizard be rewarded or, if not, perhaps he might find a way to still his mind after the chaotic recent events.

Gwaerandir rolled onto his side, freed from the darkness of a most unnatural sleep. Rising to his feet, he glanced around, noticing only one of them had yet to rise.
Walking toward Althea, Gwaerandir recovered the Artemis and the Phoenix, returning them to their place on his back and at his side. As he neared Althea, he surveyed the bodies of their attackers.
"So I guess we missed quite the party. Are you ok, Althea?"

Kyaka is now awake.
Althea looked over her shoulder at him and gave a nod, then continued looking at the bodies.
"They've been dead for about a day. We've lost valuable time," she told Gwaerandir gravely. "As soon as Kyaka awakens, we must resume our journey."

Kyaka was already sitting up. He looked to Althea and shrugged. "All right then, let's get going." He said quietly. He stood, finding himself a tad light headed for a moment. He yawned, stretching his arms to the sky. He found it odd that he only had scratches after that battle. What amazing herbs...
He looked to Gwaerandir and Keitaro. It was a good thing that Kyaka had not heard Keitaro's proclomation of his mastery over dragons. It might've been rather bad if he had. He looked about, his eyes shifting from the two to the area around. "So, where are we?" He asked, thinking that maybe one of them knew something about the situation.

Gwaerandir looked over his shoulder.
"Unless I'm mistaken, we haven't moved from where we fought." He indicated the bodies of their "enemies".
"I must admit, though." He glanced at Keitaro.
"It is probably a good idea to get everything together and be on our way as quickly as possible. These fallen ones may have friends who are wondering why they have not yet heard from their comrades."

You all make the rest of the way to Milborne peacefully.
It is a town of some 160 people, most of whom live in the farmsteads that surround the town on both sides of the river. Buildings are almost all of wood; only the Old Granary, the Mill House, and the Mansion House are of limestone. It is obvious that virtually everyone here earns a living either from farming or from mining in the southern Blanryde Hills for lead and copper. Near the town itself, most work is agrarian; the miners live in work camps just ouside the mines, though they bring their ores into town to sell at the Exchange.
The people of Milborne seem fairly friendly but insular, quite happy that their town is a backwater. They are mostly decent, honest people, getting by day to day without much in the way of undue disturbance.
Here in my book I have what's called a location key. To find out about a place or to explore it, you should ask a character about it or venture off toward it. Here is a list of the locations in my key:
The Ford The Mill House Warehouses The Folly The Boathouse The Exchange The Baron of Mutton Carman's Smithy The Old Granary Garyld the Carpenter Temple Rastefer's Store Nafton's Stables and Kennel The Silver Crown The Carman Mansion Old Grizzler's House
When you're done exploring, you'll probably want to find a room for the night, since it's still 40 miles to Thurmaster. Also the Baron of Mutton (Inn and Tavern, if you haven't guessed) is a good place to meet people and find out some more information about the area.

Gwaerandir looked around the town of Milbourne, glad that they had arrived without further incident. He looked over at the rest of his group.
"Hey guys. I'm gonna check out the town. Where should we meet up tonight?"

"The inn, I think," Keitaro said distractedly. "In fact, I think I'll go there right now." Keitaro walked quietly away from the rest of his group, seemingly lost in thought. To be sure, he wasn't positive this place had an inn, but since most trade towns were known for playing host to trade caravans from time to time, he thought it likely he'd find one.
Indeed, after minimal exploration he found himself standing outside the Baron of Mutton. Smiling to himself, he stepped inside the building and took a seat in a far corner.
