Muse was staring intently at the shining thing in the water. It had her tail flicking back and forth and her eyes seeking how far down it was into the water. Looking up at Onarasuto, Muse just caught what he said.
"We can now hunt real food instead of bugs and berries. But first," Muse stopped in her sentance as she jumped into the water. Seeing as she was a rather large griff, a rather large wave splashed the banks and Ona. She kept her wings very close to her body.
"This is called swimming. And this is called diving. I want that shiny thing."
Taking a deep breath, she forced her body down under the water.

The wave came crashing down onto Onarasuto, soaking him as he sat at the edge of the pond. Twitching somewhat, he stood up and shook off most of the water that had gotten onto him.
Then stepping into the water somewhat, he looked down to watch Muse dive for the shiny thing.
He didn't go into the water himself, since he wasn't too sure if he would be able to swim. He hadn't exactly tried it before, after all. And it didn't really seem as fun as running around or flying.
So he just kept an eye on his big sister and waited for her to resurface with the object she was trying to retrieve.

Muse spotted the shiny thing not too far down underneath the water. She would not be able to grab it with her beak but using one of her horns, Muse manged to hook it. It was kinda heavy but so was her chest as it screamed for air. Kicking her legs hard, Muse broke the surface of the water and took a deep breath.
"Look Ona! I managed to get it." Paddling back to the banks, Muse drooped her head so the necklace could fall off.
Climbing out and giving herself a good shake, she laughed as she got more water on her little brother. She could feel her fur and feathers fluffing out. "I think...It goes around my head. Unless you want it."

Seeing Muse heading back towards the surface, Ona backed away a little to give her room. Grinning as he saw she got the item in the pond, he glanced down at the pendant on the ground and tilted his head slightly.
As he got wet again, he twitched slightly and shook off some of the water once more. Then shaking his head at that, he gazed at the necklace once more.
"Most likely, and... you can have it. It would look better on you."
Nodding along with this, he asked, "Do you need some help getting it on?"

Laughing at how wet she had gotten Ona, Muse was definately in a good mood. She trotted close down to her little brother and bowed her head low to the ground.
"I would greatly appreciate it. The center stone is the same color of my eyes... Perhaps it was meant to be mine?"

Grinning at her, the child hippogriff nodded slightly before picking up the necklace with his beak.
"It's a possibility," he said in a slightly muffled way.
Then glancing at Muse for a bit, he eventually got the string over her head and horns. He had a feeling there was an easier way to get the thing on, but this was the only way he could do it as he didn't have hands or anything like that.
"There. You look good with it."

Taking a step back, Muse shook herself and the pendant fell into place. It glinted prettily in the failing sunlight. Taking a step towards Ona, she gave him a friendly lick on the ear.
"Thank you for your help. It is getting too late to hunt rabbits or fish but the frogs and other night creatures will be out soon. Or, if you are brave enough, I can teach you how to fly at night."
She looked around the spring and wondered what sort of creatures would come to it at nightfall. Muse's stomach rumbled slighty and she realized that she hadn't eaten since she had grown.

Thinking about the options for a bit, Onarasuto tilted his head before coming to a decision. He was feeling hungry now as well, but he really wanted to learn how to fly, even if it was a bit dark to do so.
"Do you think we can do both? It's possible to hunt while you're flying around, right?"
Then shuddering somewhat as he felt a little cold from being wet and all, he threw out another suggestion for what to do at this mome.
"Though.. I'd like to dry off more before we do anything else..."

Muse looked up as Ona shivvered. Immediately feeling guilty, especially since she was the one to get him so wet, Muse went and sat down next to her little brother. Stretching out her wings to keep the breeze from getting to him, Muse began to lick Onarasuto clean and dry.
She did so very slowly and very patiently. Muse wanted to give parts of him a chance to dry, the parts she was not going to be working on! His back and his wings would take the longest so she started there.
"Once you are dry and ready, we will go."

Onarasuto glanced over his shoulder as Muse started to clean and dry him somewhat. Blinking at her, he faced forward again and lowered his head down a little as he felt slightly embarrassed. Still, he resisted the urge to edge away like a child squirming away from the mother who was trying to give them a bath.
"Ah.. you don't have to do that... I can dry up on my own."
He didn't mind the attention too much, but he still didn't think this was necessary.

((my computer died and then I had to clean my house...))
Muse stopped drying him for a moment to look down at her little brother.
"Of course I have to do this... It is my fault that you got all wet. We can't have you getting sick. Now hold still so I can finish and we can go flying."
Muse went back to drying his wings.

Onarasuto dipped his head somewhat again as he didn't really have anything to say in return. Most likely, he wouldn't be able to convince Muse otherwise here, so he just stayed still while he was being dried.
A little later, he was feeling considerably warmer and drier, so he stood up and turned around to face his big sister, bowing his head to her a bit.
"Ah.. thanks.."

Nodding, she stood up and looked him over. He was definately dry enough to go flying without getting sick. By now, the sky was streaked with pinks, oranges, reds, purples, and blues of sunset. Her violet eyes looked at him slantwise.
"C'mon. We need to walk to a clearing so if you fall...which you will...it will not be so bad." Muse walked past her little brother knowing that he would follow.

After gazing up at the sky for a little while, Onarasuto let out a small sigh and nodded to Muse. Once she started to lead, he went ahead and followed her to a safe area to practice flying in.
"How long do you think it'll be before I'm able to fly as well as you?"

((sorry! Been real busy!))
She trotted them out to the open field. By the time they got there, the sun was gone and the moon was rising. Crickets and other nocturnal animals came out and began to make their presence known. Muse's violet eyes looked for the highest point and realized that a decent sized boulder was in the middle of the field.
"C'mon brother. Climb to the top of the rock. As for flying... I am not sure. Practice makes perfect."
