Just a few things from our school musical, "Copacabana."
"Just Arrived" Just arrived, track seventeen All the way from Tulsa, Okla... Nowhere. Where's my chauffeured limousine? Where's the marching band? Just in time to take the town, And though my knees are shaking I'm making my stand (Increase in tempo) It all starts now! I can see my name in neon. I won't allow Any cloud to rain on me! Don't ask me how But before too long I'll be on some marquee! New York or bust! I've jusr Arrived!
Then it goes into a bunch of people singing it in rounds and stuff.
Then there's "iAy Carumba!"
I hear the congas! I hear timbales! My shoes leave the grounmd And the world spins around Ay carumba!!
They bang the bongos! They click the claves! My lips start to (smack) and my hips star to (bump) Ay carumba!!
All those persuasive percussive caribbean rythms! The more I resist - The more they insits! Can't stop the congas, timbales The bongos the claves and Ay! Ay! Ay! Ay Carumba!!
I hear the rhumba (you hear the rhumba?) and then the mambo (You want to mambo?) Wait, I think you should know Latin drums make me go Ay Carumba!!
They shake maracas (I shake maracas) I go bananas (You like bananas?)
We start having fun But before it's all done Ay carumba!!
Oh, those Ca-razy, caressing Caribbean rythms
To some it's "So what?" To me it's so hot!! Can't stop the rhumba, the samba the mamba, la bamba and Ay! Ay! Ay! Ay Carumba!!
Can't stop the congas, timbales the bongos the claves the rhumba the samba the mambo la bamba and Ay! Ay! Ay! Ay Carumba!!

The poet sings: (SSA) She's some where in the sunlight strong, Her tears are in the falling rain, She calls me in the Wind's soft song, And with the flow'rs she comes a gain.
The loneliness and misery Are silenced by a melody, She's somewhere and I hear her sing, Her words in timeless memory: "Stay the course, Light a star, Change the world where-'er you are."
Somewhere the night wind carries her, A silver moonbeam lights her way. Antares is her messenger, And every sun and moon her stay.
Dark voices from the shadows call, Ah-h-h But listen and her voice recall, Ah-h-h Moriah, Moriah! "Stay the course, light a star, Change the world where-'er you are." Moriah, She's somewhere and I hear her sing, Moriah! Her words in timeless memory:
"Stay the course, Light a star, Change the world where-'re you are."

I have more. We sang this in 6th grade. Can't remember the whole thing, though. sweatdrop
"The water is Wide" Once I gazed upon a distant shore, Watching sea birds as they filled the sky. Standing out there in the misty air How I wished that I could fly.
The water is wide I cannot cross 'oer, And neither have I The wings to fly Give me a boat That can carry two And both shall row My love and I.

"But me and my true love Will never meet again On the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond."
from the song loch lomond, which is one of the most beautiful songs i have heard sung in my school. and the meaning behind it is so...amazing, like..the story behind it.
if you really wanna know you can pm me and ask what its about, but i dont feel like filling this whole entry with an explaination of a song that most people have never heard of! heheh cool

It only hurts when I breathe, When I make believe that maybe he truely needs me. It only hurts here and there. Why doesn't he care? Doesn't he ever miss me? It only hurts me when I breathe.

"Can you Smell the song? Chettawynd... Can you smell the song? I Can Taste it, taste it!
We walk this path to sing Walk about! We sing this path to see walk about! We see this path to dream walk about! We dream, this path to walk.
We were born of the great unrest, What can we do, do but walk? Walk On, Walk On, Walk On... Solviture Ambulando Ambulare Pro Deo... It is solved By Walking.
Safari, Hokame, Aya Safari, Hokame, Aya Bushman Child... Bushman Child Name your world Bushman Child, Name your world from your mother's back. Solviture Ambulando Ambulare Pro Deo Bushman! *gong*
You cannot Travel the path before you Become the Path Itself."
Kind of disjointed and peiced together, but it's hard to write the lyrics down for a song like Walking Songs since the amazingness of the song relies less on the words and more on the interweaving rhythm patterns and the overall feel of the song while it's being sung. Still, the most amazing song I've ever sung.

Late at night when all the world is sleeping, I stay up and think of you. And I wish on a star that somewhere you are thinking of me too.

"Man Wanted"
Man wanted. One real man wanted. One mister rough and tough Who'll kiss me til I cry! Man wanted. Tall, dark and tan wanted, About this much across And just about yea high! Previous experience required Plus a lifetime huarentee to satisfy - In writing! Man wanted. No Peter Pan wanted. These ain't no kiddie toys So boys need not apply!
Man wanted. One handy man wanted. Some guy who's got the tools To keep my heat on high! Man wanted. One struttin' Stan wanted. One randy rooster who Can make my feathers fly! Extra strength and stamina desired. If you've think think you've got enough to Qualify - I'm waitin!
Keep your gents from Lord and Taylor Slip me one good sweaty sailor! One! Real! Live! Man Wanted!!
It's so hard to find good help these days! Oh yeahhh!

this is a song i sang at music camp back in june. it's soooo pretty! robert burns wrote beautiful poetry that got made into songs!it's become one of my fave songs. i can't wait to hear it on the camp cd i ordered!
A Red Red Rose. O MY luve's like a red, red rose, That's newly sprung in June : O my luve's like a melodie That's sweetly play'd in tune. As fair art though, my bonnie lass, So deep in luve am I : And I will luve thee still, my dear, Till a' the seas gang dry. Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear, And the rocks melt wi' the sun: I will love thee still, my dear, While the sands o' life shall run. A fare thee weel, my only luve! And fare thee weel, a while! And I will come again, my luve, Tho' it were ten thousand mile.

Riversong: a Celtic Celebration Suil a ruin* away to waters by the sea It's a churning, yearning river! You can cast your burdens there upon the glass Just a skip of a polised pebble. Dreamers, lovers, listen sweetly. Let the waters wash away your tears. Poets, seekers, listen keenly. Wonder not your course is set by God! Sing and dance! Do a reel to the tune of a babbling tale. Do you heal to the tune of a babbling tale? Let your heart be glad! Let the song of the river take you away. Let the song of the river take you away. Don't let the sun set on hearts of stone. Turn to the river of life. Wisdom of nature is true to God. Be it river or tree Sets you free. Go with a heart full of grace. Come now sing and dance! Do a reel to the tune of a babbling tale. Dance to the tune, sing to the moon, Aye, suil a ruin*, oh suil a ruin*. Let the river take you!
* I'm not sure if that's spelled right, it's Irish, pronounced "shoole a roon".

"Come What May"- Moulin Rouge
Never knew I could feel like this Like I've never seen the sky before Wanna vanish inside your kiss Everyday I love you more and more Listen to my heart can you hear it sing? Telling me to give you everything Seasons may change, winter to spring, but I love you... Until the end of time
Come what may Come what may I will love you, until my dying day
Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace Suddenly my life doesn't seem like such a waste It all revolves around you
And theres no mountian too high No river too wide Sing out this song and I'll be there by your side storm clouds may gather and stars may collide But I love you until the end of time Come what may come what may I will love you until my dying day
Oh come what may come what may I will love you
Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place....
Come what may Come what may I will love you until my dying day
Hehe, yes it IS on repeat at the moment sweatdrop xd

Blue Collar Man --- Styx.
Give me a job, give me security Give me a chance to survive I'm just a poor soul in the unemployment line My God, I'm hardly alive My mother and father, my wife and my friends I see them laugh in my face But I've got the power, and I've got the will I'm not a charity case
I'll take those long nights, impossible odds Keeping my eye to the keyhole If it takes all that to be just what I am I'm gonna be a blue collar man
Make me an offer that I can't refuse Make me respectable, man This is my last time in the unemployment line So like it or not I'll take those
Long nights, impossible odds Keeping my back to the wall If it takes all that to be just what I am I'm gonna be a blue collar man
Keeping my mind on a better life When happiness is only a heartbeat away Paradise, can it be all I heard it was I close my eyes and maybe I'm already there
I have always loved this song.. <3
