He hated her reading his thoughts, and he hated how he had no privacy even in his own mind! He wondered how far away he would have to be from her before he was safe. Out of her sight? Out of the caves? Even further than that?
Did she know what it was like, to know that you had no privacy anywhere, not even in the one place that you thought was guaranteed private no matter what?
She had to! She was a twisted, vile, female, and he swore she got her amusement by watching him squirm. Right now all he wanted was to claw that smug smile off her face, and just attack her, and show her who was Alpha!
But she was Queen, and he couldn't, just because she had the luck to be born the right gender, and he hated her for that, too.
He didn't answer her question, feeling assured that she knew what he was thinking, anyway, so why bother? Why bother talking to her at all if she knew his every last thought?
He actually rather liked that idea, and so he decided he was not going to reply to her, but make her work to figure out his answers instead.
The spotted one had not volunteered to be one of the Three, and he seemed so...hesitant, even more cowardly than the others. The one winged one was just stupid, trying to make the Damphousse interceede in Koivou quarrallels. They were fighters, not mediators, for the love of flight! But the one winged one knew nothing about the Damphousse, or even about flight. He allowed himself a smug smile at that.
All of the Koivou were foolish, regardless of age. None of them had been good choices for the position, and he wasn't sure which of them was the least unskilled.
The one with the feathered wings was just plain stupid, the freckled one might've been a decent choice, if she didn't defer to the feather winged one in everything, and the list of their flaws just went on and on.
A new boy? What was the Queen talking about? Another kit? Was this his replacement she was going to go meet? He couldn't follow her, though, not without an excuse, and he couldn't think of a good one.
Instead, he just stared at the new kits far below him, wondering if any of them was his replacement.
Was the only thing he said to her. Let her read all of that in his mind!((Um, Damphousse aren't Koivou. Remember how angry they got at Kiba when he called them Koivou?))

Chaos was having to much fun watching him suffer from all the troment she was giving him. She was thinking of demoting the kit if he had bad attatude to her. She was trying to get him out of that spot.
((I know Chaos was saying they are a desgrace to what they use to be.))

No, no he didn't want to meet the new kit if he had to leave his perch.
Although, he did have his suspicions that this new kit was his replacement, so it might do him some good to get an idea of his competition, and see if he couldn't find a way for the kit to loose favor with the Queen.
Either way, though, she was the Queen, and if she asked him 'do you want to do something?', it was as good as demanding he do it. He couldn't say "no" to her, she outranked him, and he hated it!
He wouldn't, at all, and he was sure she knew that, as well, but he had no other choices.

Adurna flew around the cave a bit before landing. She was excited, it was such an honor to be trained as a Princess to the Queen. But she knew now that she now had to work twice as hard as ever to please her Queen, for demoting form this postition would be a total disgrace. She kenw other she-kitlings may be promoted to this postion with her, but she needed to be sure to keep this spot.

Teach the kits how to hunt and fly? If they had to be taught that specially by the Queen, then they were weaker than the other ones, who learned with the group. In his inferior male opinion, she should see who the good hunters and fliers and those who could take control well were first, and once she had found a kit who showed good potential, then she should approach that kit, not take every female kit in under her wing.
Some kits were simply better at flying or hunting or leading than others, and ever though they could be taught how to better themselves in one of those skills, there was only so far teaching could get them; it mostly relied on the abilities they were born with.
He told her, keeping his tone perfectly neutral.
He stood up, and spread his wings, ready to follow her to see this new kit.

Chaos started at him. The queen started to fly. She didn't like how he said that but it was the way males are.

Either way, they were still getting special help, which he still couldn't understand. Females, they were an odd lot, he decided, and he was just going to leave it at that.
He simply followed her silently, knowing that there was nothing he could say to improve the situation for him. Nothing he could say would make the Queen stop being a female.

The queen watched the alpha follow her but didn't know why he was always hating on her. But she must stay a watch for everyone and her dutys.

Stupid females, why do they automatically get to be higher than the males? Oh, they can lay eggs. That's lovely. There's still more than one female, so why do all of them get to outrank me? I'm the Alpha, I won this position fairly through my skills as a warrior, and my skills in hunting, and my skills in making others listen to me when I speak. But females, they can go past me in rank just like that without any skill or effort or anything! Stupid system. He kept his thoughts to himself, though, knowing that he really would be in trouble if the Queen could read all of that in his mind.
Really most days he liked the system, since it was the reason he was Alpha, and others weren't. But it was days like these, when he had to deal with females, that he really really hated the system.

She didn't really care about ready the Alpha's mind right now so he was very lucky. The queen was wondering about all sorts of stuff.

None of the kits interested him, though, so he wasn't going to involve himself with them.
The other adults, though, he might spar with, if he knew that they had enough sense not to challenge him. Not to mention he probably knew far more about his challengers than they did about him.
He wondered why the Queen was suddenly being nosy, but what could he do about it? He was a mere Alpha, and she was Queen.

She stoped for a drink. She landed right beside the river and lowered her head to drink the water.

Well, at least he didn't have to say anything more to her for now. Which was good. He wasn't sure how much longer he could keep being courteous if she kept prying.
He landed next to her, but did not drink, since he was not thirsty.
